Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Did they reopen all of the first floor and does it look like the refurbishment is finished? The last report that I remember reading was that the secret entrance door was closed due to construction at that end of the wing.
We walked around the outside of the resort yesterday and we could see into all the rooms in the wing closest to Epcot. All the beds had new mattresses with the plastic still on them. So it looked to me that they were making good progress. The ground floor rooms nearest the lobby are all refurbished.

When we arrived at MCO, I had a text that our room was ready. It was room 2000. I immediately tried to find the posts by izzylovesmickey and why the room wasn't up to par, because that sounded like their exact location.
It took me a few moments to realize that you were at the Wilderness Lodge. The kids should like the new splash pad. :)

Hi All! Excited to say we've added an extra day to BC!! We snagged a late summer rate for 9/11 to add to our short trip 9/12-9/14 before our cruise. So excited to have a full day at the hotel :) Our travel day will be 9/11, a blissful full day at BC 9/12, MK 9/13 then off to the Dream on 9/14. The only room that was available was a LV so we will have to check out and check back in (our original reservation is GV).. might be a little bit of a hassle but still so happy to enjoy the BC. Thanks to you all for making this thread and hotel so inviting!!!

Finally trying to dig out and catch up on past posts. This is going to take a while, but since I can't really do much for physical activity, I am happy that I am able to play on my computer.

We booked our first Disney vacation yesterday! This group has made my decision to stay at the Beach Club very easy. I stopped looking at other properties weeks ago. We have booked a one bedroom villa for May 6 through the 9th, 2016.

Now maybe I can start working on what reservations I want. I definitely want to find a sunken treasure. pirate:

Congratulations on your first Disney trip. You will find SO much info on these boards (maybe too much) to help plan your trip. I used to love hanging out on the restaurant boards and looking at food porn, but now I have so many favorite places to eat that I can't fit them all in one trip.

Here is your official :welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

It doesn't look like we will be staying at YC/BC for our February trip but I don't think I have been added to the Guest List for our September/October trip. We will be at YC CL Lagoon/Pool View Sept 29 - Oct 6, 2015. Thanks!

Got it! I'll add you when I make my next update.

:goodvibes:

Well I haven't been on here in forever, things are busy and crazy, but good to see some friendly names. I am looking forward to returning to the Beach Club. Tonight!! We fly out of Harrisburg around 7pm and land at Sanford around 9:20pm. Hope to be at the Beach Club around 11pm or so for a quick five night stay before we take a cruise on Monday. Can't wait to get back there.

I hope you had a fabulous trip and cruise!

:cool2:

Just bought my round trip airfare, no going back now!!!! Beach Club, here we come!

YAY!!!

I already have you on the Be Our Guest list.

Now I will change the listing from pencil to permanent ink ;)

:thumbsup2

We are going to be there in 5 days!! My family has had a rough year and we need this vacation. I CANNOT wait!!!!!

I didn't have you on the Be Our Guest list, so if I haven't given you a howdy yet, :welcome:

Hope you are having/had a great trip!

:cheer2:

I forgot, a quick question for the experts (sorry I know it's been asked before but new to Magic Bands and FP) I technically have two separate reservations, one for Friday and one for the next two days. I went ahead and declined the new MBs, will this mess up any of my reservations or FP? My original Magic Bands were already shipped. Thanks!!!

Tarak mentioned the a/c being loud. Is it the type that runs for awhile and then shuts completely off (complete silence) or does it stay on all the time with the condenser just kicking on and off as needed? Hope that makes sense.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. We're at the WL for a few days before moving over to the BC. So any AC noise I'm dealing with would only matter if you're staying at the WL. I can't recall what the AC is like at YC/BC, but someone here will know the answer. Or I can let you know on Wednesday!

You will love BC! Such an awesome resort!
We were on the Dream in July and loved it!
Have a wonderful vacation!

Oh, and this isn't resort related, but it is ticket-related. We upgraded our passes at the MK guest services next to the fire hall. We had to get a supervisor's assistance before the CM price-bridged our tickets. So we were able to, but the CM definitely wasn't going to do it at first (insisted we were only getting credit for what we paid).

Thank you so much! We were on the Dream last year and loved it too! Planning on a Fantasy one for next year, possibly :) We haven't been to the World since we moved from Florida 3 years ago, so now I get my fix!!:woohoo:

39 days and counting until we are at the YC!!!! :dance3:

Has anyone entered the International Gateway for an EPCOT breakfast ADR? We booked the F&WF Parisian breakfast at Les Chefs de France, it starts at 9:00 AM, but the ADR says to arrive a little early. I know the EPCOT front gate lets people in early for ADRs. Will the CMs at the IGW also do that? Granted, it's a short walk, but I'll be with my parents, so we will be walking slowly. :-)

Your ADRs and fps will not be affected by which MagicBand you are using. All that information is stored in a huge database and a MB that is linked to your MDE account will access that database. You shouldn't have any problems using the original MBs :)

I guess it's just their A/C units then. Sorry-I tried to get it fixed for you! The A/C at BC was very quiet and worked great when we were there. Did they at least get the fridge fixed?? Hope you have a great stay at WL! (It was just not the place for us-reinforced that BC is "home"!)

Yikes! 162 pages! I have been hunting and pecking through this thread trying to find if there is any word on the status of the BC/BCV room refurbishment schedule. Are they now done with BC? Have they started BCV? Just wondering if I will have a lot of construction noise or opportunity to stay in a refurbished room during our BCV stay late September.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

As others have posted, no need to hunt and peck- we conveniently keep the very first post of this thread up to date with any news we learn about the upcoming (but not scheduled) renovations at YC and BCV.

Since a start date has not been announced, I think you will be ok in Sept.

:thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I'm staying at the BC for the first time next week. We're all so excited. I was wondering if anyone could give me some information about the tye dye Mickey shirt activity. Does anyone know when and where this activity is held? Thanks!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:goodvibes:

As others have responded, the activities schedule for August, as well as some info and pictures of the tye dye activity are in Post 4 on Page 1. If you do it, we would love to hear your feedback and see pictures.

:)

I'm at my 7 month booking window tomorrow and was really wanting to book a studio at BCV but with the delay do you guys think the renovations will be done in time for March 8th, 2016? Or would you book somewhere else just to stay safe?

:welcome: to this thread!

Again, others have responded, but since the work has not commenced, and a start date has not been announced, I believe it is unlikely that the renovations would be done in March.

Please let us know if you do decide to book at BCV despite the uncertainty.

:goodvibes

Hi everyone - I have had trouble looking this up so I will ask the experts! I am at the beach club Nov. 5th. We land around 8pm and were hoping to use the main hot tubs that night. But, that depends how late the pool is open. Does anyone have an idea of the pool hours in Nov?

I'm not sure if there are set closing hours in November or any time of year. The closing time can vary even within the same week depending on weather and crowd conditions. If you are landing at 8 pm, it could take an hour and a half or a couple of hours to get to the resort, via Magical Express or even if you are renting a car and there is a wait.

You wouldn't make it if Stormalong Bay closes at 9 and it would be cutting it close if they close at 10. I doubt that the main pool would be open until 11 in November.

You would likely be able to use the hot tubs in one of the 3 quiet pool areas, though. Unless something changes, you can access them much later (although suggested hours are until 11, I believe).

Perfect...thank you!

You again!

Got any trips planned???

PS. We're stopping at Walmart before we get to the BC. Need to add anything to the list??

1) Bananas
2) Benadryl
3) Pool noodles

Well hello long lost friend.... :) Can't think of anything I need... I bought a water bottle that filters so I won't need the bottled water.

Can't wait to see you again!!!

You will have no problem getting in the IG to your ADR. Hope you have a great time.

Starting to plan for our 25th anniversary next October. Yikes! Where does the time go?

Anyway, we think we are going to book a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas on the Disney Dream then move to the BC to do F&W and MNSSHP after. Has anyone taken the bus or would you suggest getting a car service? Just wondering on the travel time from the ship to the hotel. We thought about trying the GF but DH said we know we love BC so guess we'll save GF for another trip!

Fridge works fine. I think the AC doesn't seem so bad because it was so horrendous at the Marriott I stayed the night before.

Ariel's seashell bra is an absolute toddler magnet. I wonder if the photopass photographer uses a clicker to count the number of times Arie gets groped.
