All You Need is The Force, Trust and Pixie Dust! A May 2014 TR -- Updated 11/20

Oh wow! What a great view. You are much braver than me. I can't bring myself to eat raw fish. I'm too obsessed thinking about the possibility of ingesting worms or flukes.

You had a great view for the fireworks too! Can't tell.you were behind people.

Nice way to top off your evening. Love those cupcakes!

Yay for California Grill! I haven't eaten there yet, it's still on my list. But the sushi would be a huge draw for me. I absolutely love it! I think your approach to eating it has been good. Try it periodically. Tuna is my favorite though, so I'll pretty much take anything with it.

Okay, our upcoming trips are:

November 2014, New Year's 2014/2015, February 2015, and then Disneyland in August of 2015. That's as far as we've gotten. LOL.

Ooohhhh. Pixie dust?!

Yum, Cali grill looks delish. Love the idea to have 2 apps for dinner. Now you got me jonesing for some sushi. I've always loved raw to cooked tuna, no comparison in my book.

Great wishes vantage point and what a quick trip back to bwi. May have to borrow that one. Can't wait to see what the pixie dust is...

'Ohana breakfast has quickly shot to the top of my list. I really loved the family-style meal and the food was really good! Geez, between 'Ohana, Kona, Crystal Palace and Grand Floridian Cafe, we may never leave the MK area for breakfast ever again! :rotfl2: I'm dying to figure out when I have time to go back to the spa, it was such a lovely way to spend the afternoon!
We've only eaten at 'Ohana for breakfast once (the next morning after our dinner there, too!), and we loved it! Last summer, while staying at the BC, we ate breakfast at Cape May Cafe for my son's birthday and it was great too! Not crowded at all, great and plenty food choices, and the characters come around 2-3 times. We had a breakfast ADR at Tusker House too, and loved it also. Breakfast is our favorite meal to eat out at Disney! I can't wait to try CP one of these days!

I had just taken a seat in the lounge when the buzzer went off. I was seated a window table in a room just off the main dining room. My view was breathtaking.

You are right.

That view don't suck!

Your sushi looks good, too. Good for you for acquiring the taste. Mark and Ben will eat sushi of any variety. I prefer the versions with cooked fish, but will have a few pieces with raw tuna or salmon on occasion. Nate is starting to come around: sushi-lite. He will eat a California roll.

I love seeing the layout of MK from CG/CR/BLT. There really is no place else you get the sense that all of the things in MK are RIGHT THERE! Together.

I simply adore your fireworks pictures from the train station. I love how big the castle is and how it is surrounded by the various bursts. Great job!

What a spectacular day!

:goodvibes

You never know what is in store and that we may end up adding more dates down the road :thumbsup2

Oooh! Tell me more about the luau, we've never tried it!

You and Franklin have to try it some time! I think you both will love it!! I noticed the menu has changed from the last time I was there. (Which was 2007, I think) They used to have salad with the mango-poppy seed dressing and a chocolate molten cake for dessert. So I was sad to see those go so you'll have to let me know how the food is now.::yes:: The luau is only on Tues and Saturdays with times at 5:15 and 8pm. Love the show and the story line they have. They even have a point where you can go up and learn to hula as well. Since the show it's self is around two hours long, you can usually stick around and catch fireworks or the Electrical Water Pageant on the beach. Either time you pick makes for a nice romantic night :thumbsup2

I really never thought I'd ever get past the whole "slimy, icky" stuff about raw fish to a point where I'd actually like it. It's great to have opened myself up to this whole new type of food.

And P.S., those princess cupcakes are literally my favorite sweet Disney snack!

You really need to try Cali Grill, the food is incredible! Lots of fun trips coming up for you guys!

The two apps were a perfect dinner! Actually looking at those photos again makes me hungry too!

It was such an easy getaway from MK to BW, I love it when a plan comes together. ;)

Cape May is a favorite breakfast spot of ours, too! The thing that both 'Ohana and Cape May have in common is they feel far more laid-back than other character meals. I love the waffle bar at Cape May -- chocolate chip Mickey waffles!!

You will love CP! Puffed French toast is soooo worth trying.

Yeah, the view was alright. ;) Sushi-lite, I like that label! The really cool thing about watching MK from CR/BLT is that you can hear the park! You can hear the train whistle, you can hear the parade music, it's the coolest thing I've every experienced! I was shocked any of the fireworks photos turned out, I'm truly terrible at fireworks photos typically. So getting a few usable ones was a happy treat!

You never know what is in store and that we may end up adding more dates down the road :thumbsup2

I'm thinking you're going to need a Food and Wine Festival trip in October 2015 (maybe say during the dates of Oct. 17-25 :rotfl:). Franklin and I are really fun company at F&W Festival.

The luau sounds awesome! It's definitely going on the to-do list! Thanks for the recommendation. :thumbsup2

Catching up on a few updates -- all fab of course!!

GREAT FOF pictures...we can't wait to see it!

Your massage sounds heavenly...combined with a glass of wine and a stroll through GF, followed by CG sushi and Wishes?!! WOW! Doesn't get much better than that!! :goodvibes

My 8 year old just walked by and saw your pics of Wishes and immediately started singing, "WISHES....dream a dream WISHES....." lol.......

Your view at Cali Grill was gorgeous!

Perfect timing on the bus stop!

Can't wait to hear what pixie dust you have coming up. You have had such an awesome trip so far!

Sushi looks delicious!! I definitely need to take a trip over there during my year! It's definitely on the list, especially with that view!!

And speaking of views, that fireworks view is brilliant!! Even with two rows of people in front of you it looks like a splendid way to spend the evening!! :)

And this was the photo from the other tr!!

Love the views from CG but I have to confess I've never tried sushi-the idea of it freaks me out kinda:scared1:Its the whole rawness of it thing-didnt know some sushi had cooked fish (really showing my ignorance here) :confused3
I will admit that it looks very pretty on the plate though and I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

This is going to be the first F&W we're going to miss in five years! It makes me want to cry. But the people were traveling with this year (my family this summer and Franklin's family in the winter) had us plan trips in August and December. And as Disney-crazy as Franklin and I are, we just couldn't justify adding an October trip between those two. So now F&W Festival for us this year. We'll live vicariously through you!

Our flight from Chicago to Orlando leaves Chicago at 6am and lands around 9:30am. Sorry for the confusion. :)

I'm sorry that you are going to miss F&W this year. It was your trip report and Franklin's fantastic pictures of the MNSSHP parade that made me book a trip this fall. I can't wait, although I am a little worried about the heat and humidity. :scared:

But at least you have a trip planned in December. There are a lot of fun things to do that month. Have you been to WDW in December before?

The view of wishes from the train station is better than I thought it would be. That is funny about your BW bus taking off from the station without waiting for the Wishes crowds. We had that happen at Epcot. We left the park just before Illuminations started, got to the bus stop as they were going off, and then the bus pulled away with only eight people on it, not waiting for the crowds.

Thanks for coming out of lurkdom! We're a pretty fun bunch around here, so don't be scared to jump right in. Tell me about your September trip, what have you got planned?

Thanks for the warm welcome!

We're going September 10-23rd. It'll be myself, DH, DS4, and DD2. We're doing a split stay starting at CSR with free dining until the 20th and then moving to a savannah view studio at AKL Kidani through rented DVC points. The kids LOVED AKL our last trip (We only stayed one night) so I think it will be our new tradition to spend a couple of nights there at the end of our trips. We have ADR's for Ohana dinner x2 (our favorite), Kona breakfast, Tusker House breakfast, Boma dinner, Sanaa, 1900 Park Fare, Hollywood & Vine breakfast, 50's Primetime Cafe dinner, BOG dinner, Akershus, Yak & Yeti for lunch, Crystal Palace breakfast, and we'll try & save up most of our snack credits for the F&W festival! My Disney trips very much revolve around the food and character meals for the kids. Lol. And I'll be upgrading our park tickets to annual passes so we'll be heading back in December with my sister & her kids! We just booked our flights so it's official! :)

Missy I just found this TR and am loving it! We are in the same August Facebook Group. Subbing in :)

That would be so great. something to think about for sure. We know you both are great company... experienced it first hand :thumbsup2

I think we were in that same little room when we went to Cali Grill. We were there on the Rock Your Disney Side night before swinging over to the park.

I hear you on the sushi. For me, even though I like the taste of it, I still get an uneasy feeling in my stomach. My mind just cannot get past it. We did figure out that I don't like seaweed, so I'll either order my roll in soy paper, if they have it, or I'll stick to Nigiri, I think that's what it's called, when they drape the fish over the rice. And I'm allergic to avocado, so that eliminates a lot for me, anyway.

I love your clean getaway after Wishes. Bus pixie dust is some of the best kind in my opinion. Clearly, upgrades and freebies are also nice, but much more rare. Plus, no one wants to wait for a bus after a day in the park.

I love how you went back to your room and watched basketball! You're so loyal to your sport!

Oh my goodness, that view from CG is impressive!!!! I think sushi is so pretty to look at. And that's all I'm willing to do with it. Haha.

Can't wait to hear about your pixie dust!
