Thanks! Not more confusing..i just wondered if other events change and apparently not.
I wish they let adults do the jedi academy. Dh would love that. Lol we taped it last time we were there.
I saw some people dress up...dh might have to do that. Lol

They use to have Adult Trivia contest...like Padawan Mind Challenge but for adults but they took it away :(...I know alot of people who would line up to do JTA

Yes! Looks like they will both be there during our SWW!!:woohoo:

This may have been covered, but I just missed it... will all of the celebrities participate in the Stars of the Saga segments?

Are Sundays usually as crowed as Friday/Saturday? We will be there on weekend 3 and thought about going on Sunday.

The celebs that participate in Stars of the Saga are the SW actors. For weekend 2 it'll be Ray Park and Warwick Davis and it'll be hosted by James Arnold Taylor. Behind the Force will include the voice actors from the cartoon and it's hosted by Ashley Eckstein.

While we're 2 months away from Star Wars Weekends 2013, I thought we should share our tips and tricks from previous years! Here are the SWW2013 dates:

UPDATE: AUGUST 23, 2012-After the merchandise panel at Celebration VI, next year's theme is most likely Return of the Jedi.

UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 22, 2012- I'm a little late on this one, but for you Vinylmation collectors, Star Wars Series 3 will be released when SWW 2013 starts.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 30, 2012- Disney has bought Lucasfilm for $4 billion, so Star Wars Land is likely going to happen, and maybe a bigger SWW!

UPDATE: DECEMBER 2012: Dates have been announced! May 17-June 9

UPDATE: MARCH 11, 2013: If you haven't heard the news, Clone Wars got cancelled :( However, James Arnold Taylor said on his blog that Dave Filoni will be coming to SWW. Below I'll add confirmed celebrities.

Great! That's what I was hoping for. Thanks!

This is going to be our first SWW. We were there during SWW two years ago, but we didn't go because the kids didn't know about Star Wars yet. They were so little and I didn't want to push them through the mega crowd. This year though, this is our year!

We thought maybe DD5 was ready for the fillms and boy was she ever. Now the both of them are obsessed. DD is always asking me deep philisophical questions about The Force, good and evil, and Vader's true nature- stuff I have no idea how to answer. ("Let's ask dad") DS2 acts out the "I am your father" scene by himself and yells "no, that not twoo! impossbal!" Ugghhh! So cute.

Anyway, I am so sorry if this is covered somewhere in the 58 pages that I'm just not going to read :rolleyes1 but I assumed that all of the stationary and roaming characters leave their stations for the motorcade. Is this accurate?

I don't intend to watch the motorcade because I can't see either of us wanting to stand around for two hours trying to protect a spot. Plus we don't typically stay at the parks all day, so I was hoping to take advantage of the lull to hit up some attractions. Do experienced SWWers feel that we would get enough of the Star Wars vibe just from walking around and spying characters now and again, even without actually viewing the motorcade or seeing Hyperspace Hoopla?

Omg this is the longest post ever!

Shows inside Premiere Theater:
Behind the Force: 11:00am & 1:45pm
Stars of the Saga: 3:15pm
Obi-Wan and Beyond: 4:45pm
Visit to the Maul: 6:00pm

Can someone please explain more about what the shows entail for a newbie like me?

Thanks!

Awesome that the kids are into SW, too cute acting out the scenes :lovestruc Last year there were some reports that Darth Vader continued meeting during the parade but I never got actual proof of this, maybe someone on this thread knows more...And yes, you could get a feel of SW just walking around and looking at characters. There's SW music playing outside the turnstiles and around all the character meet and greets. And the merchandise tent is an awesome place to get all your SW stuff.

Behind the Force: hosted by Ashley Eckstein (voice of Ahsoka on Clone Wars cartoon) they invite the visiting Clone Wars guest and show how voice over acting works. They have a small scene from the cartoon and put in the voices live. It's pretty entertaining especially for people who love the cartoon show.
Stars Of the Saga: Hosted by James Arnold Taylor (voice of Obi-Wan in the Clone Wars cartoon) the visiting SW guests are invited and are asked questions about their experience filming the SW movies. This is more for adults I think or kids that are very much into SW. The great thing about this one is the pre-show...Stormtroopers come out and do about a 10 minute skit that is hilarious so make sure to come early to this one.
Obi-Wan and Beyond: James Arnold Taylor is a talented voice actor and shows you all of his different voices, from Fred Flinstone to Marty McFly, he has worked in cartoons, movies, commercials and video games. It's an awesome show even though it has little to do with SW.
Visit to the Maul: Ray Park (Darth Maul) shows the moves he used for portraying Maul and kids are picked (at random before the show) to be on stage and are taught a small martial arts class. This is mainly Park talking about discipline in Martial Arts and fans of the Maul love this show.

Unfortunately our typical SWW plans are being rudely interrupted by a trip to Aulani :rotfl: We will only have 2 days of weekend 2 and DR + the kids will have 1 day of weekend 3. (I have to fly home and back before flying out on Sat am for HI). Crazy as it sounds I'm having withdrawal issues.

Thanks for all the updates and advice! Our family is super excited about our May trip.... Star Wars weekends.

On our first date my husband took me to see Star Wars! OK we were 18 and 21. We've been married 38 years!
4 years ago my daughter got engaged at WDW during SWW and of course honeymooned at WDW too.
Now we return and my daughter and her husband would like to dress as their favorite counterparts. Is this ok or are there rules about costumes ect?
Yes we are true blue Geeks!

We may be going to this on Memorial Day weekend to celebrate finishing up my chemo treatments. Which would be more crowded--Memorial Day weekend or the last weekend of SWW?

far as I know adults are allowed to dress up.

Everyone is allowed to wear costumes .. Only no mask nothing that obscures the face - or mimics cast members . Otherwise let your sw imaginations prevail ;)

Congrats on almost finishing your treatments! What a wonderful reason to celebrate:goodvibes - I have a dear friend who is just beginning hers.
It's been many years since I've been on the last weekend, but it used to be less crowded - and I would expect it to be less crowded than the holiday weekend this year. I'm (selfishly;)) hoping Disney pulls out some really big celebs for weekends 3 & 4 to draw the crowds away from weekend 2 celebs Ray Park and Warwick Davis who are both a very popular draw - we'll be there over the holiday wkend ourselves and are expecting high crowds. We'll see - we love it even when it's crowded, but we go all 3 days, so we manage to do everything we want/need to.
