March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

Looks like you are going to have a blast.. i am going in prime spring break time as well, the week after easter, so I look forward to seeing how well you all do..
I have stayed at CBR (I have bad memories cause I was there 10 days with a miserable X-boyfriend) lol thus, i never want to stay there again..

I have been spoiled the last time I stayed Deluxe and now I don't want to every change that.. But, where ever you stay the trip ends up being magical..

CBR is absolutely stunning! So is CSR! I can't speak for the others, since I haven't been lucky enough to score a visit. Then again, I don't think I can say anything bad about any of the resorts. :lmao: I would have preferred to try a new place, but I'm just happy and thankful to be going back. So whatever DH and the kids want, I'm okay with that. This time, I shall remember pictures! Lots of them! :rotfl2:

I know I would love to see lots of pictures! :lovestruc

I booked many "fake" trips myself. So I'm guessing I have you to blame for snatching up that "Oh POFQ is full -- LOOK it's open! -- Oh, its full again" scenario I had. :lmao::lmao:

 So sorry... :rolleyes1 I didn't realize my inability to make a decision was affecting someone else... I get that a lot, actually. :rotfl2: I hope you weren't having problems with Chef Mickey's as well??? :rotfl2:

D~

late to the party but i'm here now!

I had much better luck with CBR this May then you did the previous year, so hopefully you will this time too!

Tell your husband I send him a . But he is very sweet to not let the kids down (so major brownie points from me). I think the kids would have been disappointed with the POFQ pool after experiencing CBR and CSR's pools.

I agree -- why do the deluxes cost so dang much? We would never have stayed DVC if it weren't for the generosity of people.

Can't wait to hear about day to day plans and ADR's.

I'd like to rent DVC points one day ... but I'm very nervous to give it a try. :scared1:

And maybe they would be disappointed in the pool ... then again, maybe not. It's hard to tell with these kiddos. :lmao:

Sorry to hear of your bad memories of CBR.

I agree: It doesn't matter where you stay, as long as you're there making memories! :goodvibes

No, I was still pricing the fake trips. :lmao: It would appear and then disappear. I was excited to see it once, and was hoping it would stick around (but I knew better). :rotfl2:

No problems with Chef Mickey's. ;)

:welcome:

I'm still following along with your May TR! I'm so glad to hear you had a good experience at CBR! We just got unlucky -- several times. :lmao: As you can see, it wasn't bad enough to deter us from going back! :thumbsup2

Count me in as well! Great updates so far :thumbsup2

Gosh, I really have to get the last post of my TR up so I can start my PTR. Reading several new PTRs of people going in the spring has really got me itching to start mine!

We almost went with POFQ for our upcoming trip. But until I write about it in my PTR, my lips are sealed about where we did pick to stay! ;)

Yay! You're back, too! :woohoo:

I'm looking forward to your last post. Who says you can't start a new PTR while writing your current TR? :lmao: Get it started and send me a link so I can stalk... err... read along! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear when/where! popcorn::

HI! It's Connie Cannon Sink from the FB March 2012 page! Subbing...

Can't wait to keep track of your plans!

Glad to see another name from the FB group here! :goodvibes

I hope you don't mind chaotic planning ... because it's what I do best. ;)

I survived my day at work... Thought I'd stop by and thank you for keeping my PTR alive today! :) ROFL... Just let me know when you'll be gone for a day, and I'll return the favor. ;)

G'luck with that. ;) I'm only out of the house long enough to go to class and grab the kids at school. I'm such a homebody! :scared1:

Hope you had a good day at work! :goodvibes

Alrighty then... I"ll have to text Marianne when you leave, and we'll have a party in your PTR... Then I'll figure out when she is gone, and we'll crash her PTR. ;) Sound like a plan?

So today ... I added another ADR to our list. I originally just booked the ones covered by the DDP, but I just booked another that we'll pay OOP.

And while I was at it, I looked over the menus and guesstimated how much the bill would be (before tip). Then I guesstimated tip and other expenses. So I now have a nifty spreadsheet that shows me what I'm expecting to pay OOP in total, and for each day. I'm also anxious to see if my numbers are accurate in the end -- but we won't know until March and after I tally everything up.

I'm also going to see if the DDP was worth it for us this year -- granted, its very much worth it since it is FREE ... but if we had paid for it, if we would have gotten our money's worth. This will give me an idea if a future trip with the DDP would be worth it as well.

I know Disney is constantly rolling out Special Offers ... and I'd really like to decide which ones are the best for our family. I've always done really well with the DDP and coming out ahead -- but not so sure about 2012 and the new pricing.

Now that I have my spreadsheet ready ... its just going to have to sit back and collect dust.

And in case you're wondering, no, I have not released what my ADRs are. I'll be releasing that information later. I've not decided how I want to write the PTR yet ... if I want to build in the ADRs within the daily plan or if I want to do separate entries for the ADRs. I'm afraid that if I don't go chronologically, then my Table of Contents may get confusing for anyone who wants to follow along with it.

Hmm... I just don't know yet. I've already started working on my Disney To-Do List. It's almost done and ready for posting ... and updating as things get added or accomplished.

Well, I think that's all I have for now. I just had to post something about this new ADR. I'm excited for it. When I showed DH why I wanted to book it, he agreed 100%. I expected him to say no, we'd just hit McD's on the way out ... but he agreed. So I'm even more excited now! (Well, not excited with the OOP expense, but it will be worth it, I hope!)

Sorry to leave you guys hanging with a "... dude, she's nuts... she comes in here and teases us and runs away" scenario ... but ... you'll find out eventually, right? :lmao:

But I will give you a hint: It's a repeat restaurant from a previous trip, but it's breakfast -- we've never done a Disney breakfast before. :goodvibes

Oh, and you're welcome to guess. :rolleyes1

OK... Well, I am not sure what your current ADRs are (ahem, you haven't released them)... So, I am not even going to fathom a guess. However, I am super excited for you that you've decided to do one ADR out of pocket.

I've figured out the cost of all of our meals, because we are doing one extra ADR, as well. So, I had to calculate the best one to do OOP, which for us, ended up being LTT.

Sounds like a plan to me! :thumbsup2

No, I haven't released my current ADRs ... but all except ... well now two, are new to us. Which doesn't help you any -- but those who recall my May PTR may have an inkling on what they could or couldn't be. ;)

I also calculated mine so I could verify that this OOP ADR would be the cheapest as well. (It is.)

While we're on the topic of ADRs ... here's a side note: We are breaking our tradition this year. :scared1: Blasphemy, I know! We are NOT enjoying any DTD meals.... let alone, our beloved Wolfgang Puck. We shall miss you Wolfie. I will, however, continue to be a huge fan and watch for your guest appearances on the Foodnetwork channel. (Did I mention I'm addicted to FN channel?)

We decided, we will NOT be heading to DTD at all for our upcoming trip. No shopping, no checking out the sights. Nada. While this may be a spoiler, I apologize. But wanted to set the record straight, and help give a hint.

100% of our ADRs are in the park or at a resort. Only two ADRs (out of six) are repeats. So that means four new meals this year. And I just told you one of them isn't WGP, so that rules out DTD. (And since we are driving home early March 9th, I'll let you in ... our breakfast ADR is not in a park.)

I still haven't decided how I'm going to work through my PTR ... I'm thinking I'll do my Disney To-Do List as my next "big" update. It won't be a big post, but will be a linked one. So we'll call the linked ones "big" and the non-linked ones "mini" or "short". :lmao:

It's early ... I have class soon ... I'm still sleeping ... so ... I'll stop the rambling. :rotfl2::rotfl:

Mmmm.... Diet Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash....

I think you are just trying to get me to go read your other PTR... LOL Which I might.

Good girl. :thumbsup2

OK, now I am utterly confused. Might have to go read that other PTR.

I think you are just trying to get me to go read your other PTR... LOL Which I might.

I wouldn't recommend it. It was my first one, so it wasn't very good. But lots of people here tagged along because they were with me from the start of my May PTR.

OK, now I am utterly confused. Might have to go read that other PTR.

Sorry for confusing you ...

Long story short: We eat at WGP's every year. It's tradition. We also spend at least ONE full day puttering around DTD. It's tradition.

So we won't be going to DTD at all -- no traditional meal, no extra shopping.

There, now you're caught up. :lmao:

Marianne... Did you read this??? She's leaving soon....
D~

I don't have to be gone to be threadjacked. Just jump in anytime. :lmao::rotfl2:

I am going to take a wild guess and say Crystal Palace.

Hmmm... OK, since you guessed, I better guess too... I don't think it's in a park, I am guessing it's a resort restaurant... With out knowing where you've been before, I am guessing O'hana??? :confused3

D~

Can't wait to hear as the PTR progresses. I made another ADR myself after I posted my update this morning...go figure. I'm still not even sure I'll keep it. Part of me has a few counter places that I really would like to hit...and some of the tours I have planned will serve us lunch so that means counter service would have to be dinner. That also means more time in the parks for us though. I don't know...just may have to change our plan.

We actually did NOT visit Downtown Disney at all during our last trip. Ooops...I mean almost didn't go there. We went there for lunch on the day of our arrival as we waited for our room to be ready...and ate at the T-Rex and actually enjoyed it SO much that we plan to add it to our November 2012 trip so we can introduce the in-laws to it. Since MIL has also request a meal at Mama Melrose again for that trip, and we may only have about 5 park days total, it's going to be tough to fit in too many ADRs. We may have to give up our beloved Cali Grill...and then my FIL may object to that since he loves that one. Decisions, decisions. It's hard to keep everybody happy...that's why we have to keep returning! :rotfl:
