What is the most fame someone you know personally has had?

There are several. A guy I went to elementary school and one year of high school with was on the Tonight Show years ago with Johnny Carson. Girl I know from high school married Steve Bartkowski. Another guy from school is a local sports broadcaster. Another friend is a producer and the latest thing she worked on was HGTV's Rock the Block. Then one of our local chiefs was on Good morning America a few years ago and won a best recipe.

I went to H.S. with Chris Henchy who married Brook Shields. He was more friends with my sister though. And my sister said that Brooke was very very nice , and relieved, when she asked for a picture of her and Chris and not her and Brook :)

edit: also, I went to H. S. with a bunch of NASA kids. Some of their Dads were pretty high up in major moon things :)

I went to high school with Sharon Stone-we were in Chorus and Drama Club together and I played with Barbie Dolls on the floor of a train with Sammy Davis Jr when I was 5. I also have a cousin who has 6 Emmys but no one outside of NYC ABC News has any clue who he is.

Oh yeah, I forgot one! I knew one of the worst players ever in Big Brother history. Her name was Rachel and she was on there about 3 or 4 years ago. I forget which season number. It was the one with Tyler and Angela. She literally did absolutely nothing and they hardly even showed her play. I've never even seen that happen before. She was a dancer here in a show I do hair for.

One of my high school friends played on the first USA women's Olympic hockey team. She scored the winning goal to earn bronze. I rowed with someone that won bronze medal ( rowing) in the Olympics.

Boyz 2 Men were a couple of years behind me in high school, but I wouldn't say I knew them. Used to listen to them harmonize, though. Uh. A drama major in the same year as me went on to do adult films. Don't ask how I know. :rolleyes1

My DD has a small feature in a dance magazine. :) she's one of the Dancer's Across America in the summer Showstoppers magazine. That's the best I got. Well, DH was a minor league baseball player... but nothing big.

My middle daughter is semi-famous in the MMA/BJJ world. She trains with people like UFC fighters Frankie Edgar, Rose Namaumas (sp?), Claudia Galdeah (sp?), UFC Vet Kurt Pellegrino (not recommended), BJJ Grappler Nicky Rodriguez & many others. She's been on television and in magazines. But if you're not in the BJJ world, you wouldn't know who she is lol

My wife appeared on Jeopardy! a little over a year ago. Made it to L.A. and back home just before everything shut down.

My dream! About 18 years ago I made it through the first 3 rounds of screening/tryout, but didn't make it to the final round. I will keep taking that test though! When I tried out, there was an online test, then a phone interview, then an in person test, and the people that passed that last test tried out in a mock setup.

I know someone (casual acquaintance) who murdered some family members so he was pretty famous for a while...not for a good reason though!

A co-workers son plays pro football for the Miami Dolphins.

A business associate won a bronze medal in swimming at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

Keep trying! Wife took and passed the first test multiple times, made it to the mock game twice . She's convinced that her funny stories about dog walking, which she does on the side, made some kind of impression during the final interviews.

When I was in high school, my friend & I skipped school & headed to Boston, because they were filming an episode of Cheers that day! We got to be extras (with a ton of other people). It was the episode when Frasier & Lillith broke up & Frazier was attempting to commit suicide by jumping off the building. Kelsey Grammer was hilarious, hamming it up for the crowd in between scenes :)

My bestie was "2nd drunk girl at bar" in Eddie and the Cruisers. Man did she ever live up to that role :rotfl:

Well now I HAVE to know who! lol

I grew up with
Matt Clement - Pitcher for Padres, Cubs, Red Sox
Scott Milanovich - Quarterback briefly for Colts, coached in the CFL and NFL
Grew up with and later worked with Brian Minto - boxer

That's about all that I know of.

One of the kids I babysat made it to the Olympics.
My mom took care of a celebrity's mom, even escorting her to LA for her granddaughter's wedding.
Leslie Stahl sent my daughter a Coach bag ;)
I sat next to the mom from That 70's Show at Nationals because her sister was my daughter's skating coach. Her TV laugh was actually how her sister really laughs. They are wonderful people, and very funny, in a dry way.

I got to know a of couple Olympic gold medalists fairly well. They were friends with a good friend of mine so we often ended up at the same events, etc.

World-wide fame. John Bongiovi AKA Jon Bon Jovi. He was a neighbor and we went to school together and were in the marching band together.

There's another DISer named Karen who can claim the same, since she went to the same school. I forget her DIS name, though. :scratchin
