Hey guys,
I am a beginner at this whole commando thing, but i love the idea!
I am an organiser and planner - and am currently studying event management which is perfect for satisfying the planning craves.

I was wondering what type of spreadsheets you use?
do you have any templates to share?

My trip is not for a while off, but it will be my first to disneyworld. Planning to go for 14 nights, with a 10 day ticket!

:welcome: You are member #281:cool1:Studying event management should certainly give you a upper hand planning out WDW:thumbsup2, I can't help with spreadsheets or templates since I personally don't use them, but a lot of fellow Commandos do, so someone might be able to help you with that:thumbsup2

I will say on a 10day ticket you should be able to get anything you want to do plus some done and things you really like multiple times:woohoo:

I am sooooo jealous!! My husband works in Buffalo and his work is closed again today it's still insane here so you might even get another day!!

I have no idea how I've missed these threads before but I would totally love to join in!

We leave 12/3 for disney until the 6th when we are doing a 7 day cruise on the Fantasy. Then back to the parks 12/13-12/15. My sons are bringing their girlfriends who have never been to Disney before. I hope they are prepared for the whirlwind because I have every day PACKED with plans to see EVERYTHING and we are even hitting MVMCP. I hope they sleep on the cruise because there's no time for that at the parks :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:welcome: You are member #282:cool1: You got the Wow Factor going here, you get to go to the parks for a couple days , then a cruise , then right back to the parks, I'm betting while on the cruise you will be revising your plans for back at the parks based on what you already got done:confused3

I will also be in the playing fields at WDW 12/11- 12/14:yay:

I was a never a Disney planner. My first trip with my oldest dd we didn't plan a darn thing. Then my sister went. She was a Commando member, #139 "Dobby".... She had everything planned from sun up until the rest of us were long in bed for the night. She had adr's and special events and snacks and meals and bathroom breaks mapped right out with precision like I couldn't believe. And I laughed at her. And I rolled my eyes at her. And then I lost her, last year to cancer.... and my mind did a complete 180 about her Disney fanatic tendencies. I absorbed them, and embraced them. I poured over her binders over this last year, and her spreadsheets, and her pictures from the 3 trips she was able to take with her 2 kiddos. And somehow, I turned into her. I can finally say I'm going back, this time with my youngest dd, unfortunately not with my mom as planned (she treats the grandkids to this trip when they turn 8) as she now has cancer and will be just starting chemo.... But I will channel my sister, and I will let the magic and pixie dust settle over me and my dd, and I will plan my fp+ and adr's with carefully placed wreckless abandon, and I will look up and know that my sweet sister is laughing her *** off at me. Just like I used to do to her. I thank all of you Commandos for embracing her when she was on the boards, to let her feel at home among the other Disney Commandos. I will set my alarm clock every single morning at our resort extra early in honor of you all. :)

:welcome: I am sorry to hear of the passing of your sister and member of our commando family:grouphug: And to Honor her and make sure she is never forgotten I am giving you member #283:littleangel:139, her spirit will always be with you:goodvibes I also added to her number on roll call.

We are here for you to help you with anything you might have a question with in your planning

Prayers are being sent your mother's way that she makes progress to the road to recovery:goodvibes

THANKS so much for the advice! :thumbsup2 I definitely think the AK part is doable, but your plan to switch up the safari sounds good too.

As for the problem with the bus...not a problem since we have our own vehicle and we'll drive to all of the parks! That will save us lots of time. We usually do the drive since it's just easier.

Yes we are pretty much ready. Another 2 hours or so at work and then I pick up my older two from middle/high school around lunchtime, go home and we hit the road...along with a zillion other drivers this weekend from what I keep reading. YEAH low gas prices!! :cool1: :cool1:

Best of luck to you! Yeah our group generally gets up pretty early on a regular basis, plus I think I have the advantage doing it on the first FULL day of our trip, rather than later when we are all dragging!

So now my only major concern is the weather, which is looking downright YUCKY for the first few days. Lots and lots of rain showers, which I know (from experience) is typical for Florida, though not usually THIS late in the fall. I packed the ponchos and raingear last night so we are ready! :thumbsup2

Now it looks like my other snafu might be wheelchair rental. My 12yo girl is dealing with a painful genetic foot issue. She's been in a soft boot/removable boot for 3 weeks hoping we could help it out a little. Our visit with the foot specialist yesterday had us pretty much realizing it may not get corrected without surgery...which she is now DREADING! So looks like she will end up in the boot for most of vacation, though I told her she could probably remove it every now and then. With us REGULAR-FOOTED people knowing the pain we experience from those long park days, we know we will have to help her out and get a wheelchair to help avoid too much pain for her as well.

Good times. But hey we'll be in Disney soon, so it's all good!

You have a car:cool1: ok no concerns here, in fact that's a whole game changer, you will do just fine:thumbsup2, let us know how you made out:thumbsup2

So I've been snowed into my house for 4 days... All my husband and I are talking about is how much we can't wait to leave for Disney in 2 weeks! I'm so jealous that you are there and extending your trip due to the bad weather that we have been dealing with! I did finally dig my car out about an hour ago. And it started snowing again...

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Hope your doing ok, and when it starts melting your ok:good vibes

Your going to WDW in 2 weeks what are your dates:confused3

Yes... Weather not looking great ... I'm ready to go with the ponchos , but hopefully won't need them too much !! Your poor daughter !!

When will you be at WDW:confused3

That is a nice tight plan, from when plane lands till the end of 1st FP is 85mins with the extra 5mins allowed, it is doable with not much room for any delay:confused3

I have heard of decorations by campers at FWCG, and also room windows at resorts, I've heard the closer to Christmas the more you will see:confused3, I've seen a few during the 1st into the 2nd week at the resort we stayed at that were pretty neat:thumbsup2

I day 2 hours and 7 min. But who's counting

We are 2 days in and I can say that the planning is definitely worth it. Day 1 was MK day 1 of 2. We got all of the plans for day 1 and a couple extra rides from day 2. Yeay! Day 2 (today) was Epcot and I am pleased to say that we got EVERYTHING done that we wanted to and even were able to let my niece do the Agent P Mission deal and get a stamp at each country's Kidcot station.

As we were driving back from the park tonight, my mom was remarking on how much we have done. I said, "That's what happens when you follow a plan." She says, "There was a plan?" I just about ran off the road!!! :rotfl2:

So keep up the planning. It really helps!
And side note, buy Memory Maker! We have 193 pictures so far in 2 days and it is so helpful to not have to hand off your camera, find someone to take a picture for you, or miss watching a character interaction because you are snapping shots. It is a huge value and time saver to me! :cheer2:

Hey almost running off the road was not part of your plan:confused3, , Don't add some crazy drama:scared1: Glad to see you got extra's in especially for your niece:goodvibes

You are definitely getting your monies worth out of MM:thumbsup2

Thank you thank you for your kind words!! :) I get to do my fp+ in 2 more sleeps, I can't wait to get through another milestone for this trip!!! I've been hearing great success for the end of January so far, aside from MSEP which apparently you can't book at 60 days out anymore? Or at least right now? I honestly don't even know if it's on my list, as my list is at my work on my desk. :rotfl2: I'm nervous to make them, it's my first time... and it really does solidify you into a schedule, but I CAN DO THIS! :)

:welcome: All Commando's To The Commando Planning & Strategies Club - Magic Bands & FP+ Oh My:cool1: Our 1st thread has reached it's limit and it's time to move into our new Barracks:thumbsup2

I'm sure most of us on other threads have felt like outcasts for planning a full agenda an have been criticized negatively :confused3. That is not the case here, Fellow Commandos can help each other to fulfill their plans:yoda:
If you are a mild or extreme Commando or even a beginner, this is a place where you can kick off your boots and relax:) while planning your trip:good vibes, and most importantly have some fun, instead of being criticized:yay:

This started out as a thread locking for other Commando's, but I was overwhelmed to see how many of us are out there:worship:
