***UPDATE, now open online, June 26, 2012 7am EST Candlelight Processional Package

Thanks Ray! Seems really odd that they are not telling us the price even when making online reservations.

I called today to inquire about the price of my CP package - La Hacienda de San Angel - the price I was quoted was $64.97 adults and $15.45 children. After looking at post #180 I called again just to make sure and was quoted the same prices again.

I think I know the answer but need to double check w/the pros. ;) so we're booked for lunch at La Cellier for the CP at 5pm. We're on the deluxe plan so I'm assuming we dont need to pay OOP right (for the show or meal), other than tip? I am aware that it will be 2 dining credits per/person for lunch which automatically gets us into the CP show.

Can you use the TiW card for a CP meal?

Also, we have never been to WDW at this time of the year before and have never seen the CP. Right now I have a reservation for the 5pm show, is it better to see it later at night?

Also, it is my understanding that we are guaranteed seats with this reservation but I guess that does not mean they are necessarily together. For 5 of us to sit together in a reasonably good location, what time is it recommended to get there?

Thanks!

TiW not applicable for Candlelight Packages. Also, I recommend the later shows since its still light at 5pm losing the effect of the candlelight. With the package, you wait in a different line and get into the theater first. It's still open seating, not reserved seating.

Does anyone know if a 3:30pm reservation is for lunch or dinner? :confused3

Hi, chloelovesdisney. It looks like poohj80 answered your questions already. But I can give my opinion, too, if you would like.

Can you use the TiW card for a CP meal?

I have never been able to do this before and I use Table in Wonderland, too. I can use it at the food court at Pop Century Resort.

Also, we have never been to WDW at this time of the year before and have never seen the CP. Right now I have a reservation for the 5pm show, is it better to see it later at night?

I prefer the night time, too. But this year, I have chosen a Lunch at Le Cellier Steakhouse which only offers a 500pm show, so this will be a first time during daylight for me.

I will still be going to other CLP shows during my vacation and just use the standby line or outside the fence. And I will be watching the last show for all of those shows because I like it to be dark to see everything on the stage lit up while it is dark outside. But that is just me. Many people have don't mind if it is dark or not. I have seen, while walking by the Amercan pavillion, that the 500pm show was pretty full.

Also, it is my understanding that we are guaranteed seats with this reservation but I guess that does not mean they are necessarily together. For 5 of us to sit together in a reasonably good location, what time is it recommended to get there?

You are guaranteed seat in the rows undercover. I have seen Castmembers escort late arrivers to their seats. The seat are all bench type continous board seats with backs to them. So you should be able to seat together even if you are late.

There have been very rare instances when I have seen Disney Castmembers escort some type of V.I.P. guests to their seats before anyone else is allowed. Sometimes it is only a family, and very rare times it was a very large group. One night both the CLP package lines and the standby lines were very long and I saw Disney Castmembers escort a very large group of guests into the theater before everyone else. On this particular night, some late guest were not seated under cover, but one or two rows back.

Then they let the paid CLP package guest to fill in the rest of the seats.

About ten minutes before the musicians start, they let the standby line enter filling in all of the non CLP package seats.

About the time when to get in line? You will get a lot of different answers.

I do know that sitting on the first row or at the end of the left and right rows are not my preference and these fill up last for the CLP package guests.

The stage is about four feet high and the first row is directly in front of the stage. The far end seats are alright, but almost everyone gravitates toward the center of the stage first.

For some shows the CLP package lines will go back to the Japan pavillion. And this is not a single file line. And the standby line can be very long, too.

I have seen people line up while the previous show is still running.

But honestly, it is up to you.

And I have never been able to predict if it is going to be extremely crowded in advance or when a special group would be allowed entrance.

I try to just go with the flow and have a good time.

I love the music and the powerful voices of the choir and children and the Christmas Story every single time regardless of who the narrator was.

Does anyone know if a 3:30pm reservation is for lunch or dinner? :confused3

Are you talking about dining or the show? I don't that there is a 330pm show. What restaurant are you going, too?

Hi Ray, thank you for all the info! :flower3:

We are going to MVMCP on November 27th, so we would like to go to the CP on November 29th. We have never gone to WDW during Christmas time, and are looking forward to the party, CP, Osbourne lights and just resort hopping to see all the decorations. I am hopeful that by the end of November most decorations will be up for us to see. :confused3

Although I would love to see the show more than once, I think with so much to do and see it is unlikely we will be able to stand on line and wait to see it a 2nd time. Since we will likely only see it once, I cancelled our reservation for the 5pm show and am changing it to either 6:45pm or 8:15pm since it was recommended to see the candlelight better.

For the 6:45pm show I am seeing restaurant seating around 3:30pm. I'm not sure if this counts as lunch or dinner. If it's dinner, I think we might as well do the 8:15pm show then and eat at a more normal dinnertime (right now they have 5pm spots open).

I'm thinking of going to the Biergarten (one of our usual favorites), or Nine Dragons (it would be new for us). Both have availability right now for all the shows.

Does that make sense. :lmao:

Hi, again. It's just my personal opinion, but I would chose a show and restaurant that you would like to enjoy instead of anyone else's opinion like my own.

But if you are ever curious what breakfast, lunch or dinner times are for each restaurant, just go to the regular dining reservations and chose a date and restaurant. It will show the times and menus for that restaurant most of the time.

Here is info from the Disney Dining page about Biergarten Restaurant showing Lunch includes 330pm on your date. It looks like it is lunch time.

Biergarten restaurant in the Germany Pavilion within Epcot theme park celebrates Oktoberfest year round with German food, entertainment and beer. Traditional German wurst, weinkraut, schnitzel, sauerkraut and more are served for lunch and dinner buffets.

Here is info from the Disney Dining page about Nine Dragons Restaurant showing Dinner includes 330pm on your date. It looks like it is Dinner time.

Nine Dragons Restaurant provides a lunch and dinner menu of traditional and modern Chinese cuisine. Dine in a contemporary Asian setting in the China Pavilion at Epcot theme park.

The times and menus could change though.

Oh, they sure are tricky with their lunch/dinner times. I think I will go with the Biergarten and the 6:45pm show. Of course, this is open to change between now and November. :rolleyes1

Thanks again!

Ha, they don't even follow their own posted times. :dance3: My 3:30pm CP confirmation at Biergarten says dinner next to it.

I might change this tomorrow but I am too tired right now.

Edited to add I sent Disney an email asking them to confirm whether or not it is lunch or dinner there at that time since it is a significant price difference for the entire group, will update when I hear back.

Got an email back from Disney that they are looking into it. :rolleyes1

Does anyone know if they allow strollers into the Candlelight Processional? It will be tagged as a wheelchair if that makes any difference. :confused3
