"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Thanks for starting this thread!

We booked a bounceback a few months ago for Dec 18th though the 23rd, so we were happy to see that we could catch the last night of the MVMCP during our visit. The plan is to catch the first flight out on the 18th and hit the MVMCP that night. It will be a long day - especially for the kids, but we'll probably split after the fireworks and call it a night.

Only 280 days to go (not that I'm counting or anything)!

This year will be my sixth trip and my first time going at Christmastime and attending the party! We will be there Nov 28-Dec 5 and I'm so stinkin' excited!

I think after the long day it will be worth it, thanks for coming into this thread, your presence is always welcomed. I encourage you this year too to please share your photos and expeirences in here as well as it will help ev eryone else! I can't wait either, I haven't chosen exactly what date I want to do yet, but just knowing there are others who are already excited is awesome!

Sounds good, we did this too - we were also able to get a nap in and get refreshed, so if your traveling just please do me a favor and sneak a nap into your plans before you head into the park so you can feel the Christmas Spirit without the ZzzZ's.

Are you kidding me 6th time!?!? You are SO lucky. Question, if I may ask, what have you personally noticed that has changed at the party? Do you see it getting better or worse...have they taken or added anything that has changed the experience since you started going?

Lol! I'm sorry. I meant, my sixth trip to Disney. Yes, I am lucky, but not as lucky as those who go oodles of times or even every year. This is my first time attending the Christmas Party. I convinced my husband to go this year after reading your 2014 thread.

Excited to see this thread. We have never been. Emailed my travel agent to see if she recommended this party over a park day and she said absolutely her favorite thing at Disney. I actually tracked down your report from last year yesterday, glad to have something to follow and learn from others questions/responses.

This is going to be my husband and I's first trip in november (not our 1st trip to disney). I plan on us going to the party on November 17th. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. TIA

I haven't decided which party we're going to this year! We have gone to the first party of the season the last two years in a row because that is the only one that fell on our week. We've changed weeks this time and we have three party dates available to choose from!

To the experts: what is the best day of week to go? The mvmcp will be occuring on thursday, friday an sunday the week we are in disney? I was thinking sunday for the least crowds.

We did Sunday Nov 16th last year and it was amazing and the park felt empty after the first parade and fireworks. It was the highlight of my whole trip because it was the first time all week that MK was not really crowded at all. I walked on all of the rides over and over! That party was not sold out so it made a difference. This year I am going to the Nov 12th party on a Thursday and I am hoping it is not sold out but either way I enjoy it so much, I won't mind.

Thank you for starting this thread! This will be our first MVMCP and I'm happy to see a place to get tips and share in the giddiness of going to the party!

So excited for this! We always go during spring break but this year DH is going to be able to take a week off in December! We're going to the last party on the 18th as it's our youngest DD's birthday. Oldest DD has gotten to celebrate her March birthday almost every year at WDW now youngest DD finally gets her turn. We're surprising them with this trip, they don't even think we are going this year. They are kind of moping around today and saying things like "Today we would be in Magic Kingdom." They'll be smiling in December.

HI! Hoping to go again this year, but waiting to see if FD is offered! Just a tip based on our experience this past November. Don't book one of the last dinner ressies on a party night. We could only get CP for 6:50. We had actually planned to go to the party that same night, but it sold out early in the week and we ended up going to the next party instead. Anyway, we felt rushed with characters and to get food, and then ignored when trying to get a drink refill and then our check paid. They stopped refilling the food---dessert was especially limited--and we had one of the character attendants complaining to us that they needed to get the characters out of there. Then we couldn't find our server to take the check because she was somewhere shutting down the restaurant. In fact, the servers were all hustling around cleaning up the place and making the guests feel they were in the way because they needed to get ready to serve the cookies and hot chocolate for the party. It was a very unmagical feeling and a good lesson learned. But, on another note, I was expecting to be escorted down Main Street since we were not attending the party and it was around 8:00, but nobody even asked to see a wristband. We only walked down MS to leave, so I guess there was no reason to check for wristbands, but I had read that we'd be escorted out of the park from the restaurant and that was not the case.

Question about Memory Maker - is it extra to add Memory Maker or was the comment about a special event Memory Maker price of $39.99? We went several years ago and are happy to be able to attend again this year (going on November 29). We didn't do Photo pass (told you it was years ago) but plan to have Memory Maker this time. Does the regular Memory Maker work for the party as well?
