*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

So cool. Come back and let us know how it went.
We picked him up from school and told him we had an errand to run. Of course, he started complaining (really whining) about having to go. I told him it wouldn't be too bad. We pulled up to the travel agent's office and I think he started to get an inkling of what was going on. Our travel agent met us and escorted us in. She then asked Jacob what color magic band he wanted. He looked confused, but said "yellow". She then asked him if he knew what magic bands did. He answered "no" and then she told him it let him go to Disney World. There was then about a minute of stunned silence in addition to a grin from ear to ear. It was actually pretty cute. All in all, I thought it went well!

That is awesome. Congrats on pulling off the big reveal.

And you are a way nicer person than me. I don't have kids yet, but when I do, if I tried something like this, and I got an "Uggggghhhhhh" followed by whining, I'd make him earn the trip after that. Call the TA, and say you'll be a bit late, then go to all the places that kids love. The bank, the cleaners, and hopefully, God willing, I run into a friend that hadn't seen the child in a yrs and goes on and on about it.

But that's just me. :cool2:

The whining wasn't too bad. He is really a great kid and it was just normal ten year old stuff. We really have been blessed with a kind, caring, and low maintenance child.

I'm sure he is. It's just that I am a pure kid of the 70's. I was raised by a mischievous dad and my uncles were well versed in the realm of mischief as well.

At least you will always have in your back pocket that you A) got him a trip to Disney. And B) that you were able to keep it from him.

Does the MVMCP usually sell out quickly? It seems like a lot of people have their dates picked out and I feel like I'm slacking. Which makes me nervous. lol

Here's my list of possible ADRs. We're on the regular dining plan so I need to narrow some of these down like Whispering Canyon vs O'hana. Not sure if my kids could hang through a long dinner at O'hana and I think they'd prefer the food at Whispering Canyon more. DH isn't a big breakfast eater so that's why I'm booking mostly dinners.

- CRT dinner
- BOG breakfast
- Cap May breakfast - Planning for the morning that we leave if the flights work out. Haven't found a good deal on them yet.
- Whispering Canyon dinner
- O'Hana dinner
- Sci-Fi diner
- Via Napoli dinner (just going to buy a pizza out of pocket this night)
- Teppen Edo dinner
- Minnie's Holiday and Vine dinner - I wasn't going to do H&V because I haven't seen many good reviews for it but the Minnie holiday party looks so cute and I think my daughter would love it. If we do it, it would be on our first night.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hey y'all! We finally booked our sister trip, 11/28 - 12/5 at Pop. It will be my sister's first time and I am just hoping she will love it as much as I do. I am feeling a little guilty about leaving the kids home with the husband, but they don't see I love planning a Disney vacay almost as much as I love going!

It's amazing...

You picked all restaurants that I have never had dinner in, except 1. And I don't like that 1. That would be Sci-Fi. Love the theme. Love the movie and commercial shorts. Not a fan of the food.

But we also are looking forward to the Minnie's Holiday & Dine. We really enjoy the H&V breakfast and can't wait for the Christmas meet n greets.

Ohana and Teppen Edo tend to make our short list, but we never seem to get there.

That's so funny. I would rather 50s Prime Time instead of Sci-Fi but I lost the vote on that one. I'll keep my food expectations low and then I'll be pleasantly surprised. The only time I've been to Disney we stayed offsite and only ate at 2 TS restaurants which were Chef Mickeys (breakfast) and O'hana (dinner). I figured we'd do Cape May instead of Chef Mickey this time. O'hana was delicious but it was just me and dh. It was a long meal and I'm not sure if my 3 & 6 yo will appreciate it as much as we did. It was on my must-do list but now I'm thinking of doing Whispering Canyon instead.

I'm also thinking about switching one to something in AK since they will have the night show by then. Any suggestions on anything? Unfortunately I'm dealing with very picky eaters.

I am waiting on tickets to see about prices, so I can figure out if we are going to a party or just add a park day somewhere else. Some parties do sell out, but not until closer to time.

We have eaten at WCC and Ohana for dinner. They are both really good and my family always requests both of them. We have done Cape May Breakfast, but it was 6 years ago. It was typical breakfast foods, but it wasn't as crowded as Chef Mickey's breakfast and the character interaction was great! They actually came around twice and we weren't there THAT long. :) We did breakfast at Hollywood and Vine in 2013, we had no problems there ~ it was clean and the buffet items were hot and fresh. We are debating on Disney Jr. character brunch or Minnie's holiday dinner. Hope that helps you!

That helps a lot! Thank you. I'm glad that the parties don't sell out right away. I will buy soon after they go on sale if we decide to do it. But I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of our trip like which day to do which park and the timing of reservations.

I just read on a fb group that MVMCP tickets are going on sale tomorrow. Not sure if it's a reliable source.

Add my family to the list going in December, please. We're staying at Coronado Springs Dec. 17-23! Can't wait for another Christmas vacation to Disney!

I think the pricing might be wrong for some of the dates I'm looking at the 12/11 & 12/13. The adult price is $92 and kids is 97. That doesn't seem right. Guess I'll find out tomorrow when they go on sale. It's a good thing that I decided to save $ by booking at Pop instead of CSR. lol

Looking like I will be skipping the party, my max budget was $100 (tax included). I am thinking about adding an extra day to my ticket and hitting Epcot the night the rest of our group will be at the party.

I was getting ready to come and post about the party, but the news is here already! Tickets went up quite a bit, but we're suckers who are going to shell out the cash anyway. We're planning to attend on 12/18.

I'll update the first page in a little while with our new December people :-):-)
