Official Birthday/Anniversary Cake thread

I agree! It´s amazing that you still can´t do that nor can you make your ADR´s online. As an "international" guest I would love to be able to take care of more things online instead of having to call and wait on hold with great costs associated. This year I´m actually using a TA which I´ve never done before. Mainly to be able to get them take care of most of my phone calls. I´m surprised Disney chooses to have it this way, and pay the TA´s, rather than just help us take care of our planning online.

I'm using a TA also. Although I'm domestic. I was worried about not doing the ADRs in the right order and missing out on something.

I did go back through 2008 on this thread and there was a picture of a cute cake. I sent a copy of it to the TA to see if it is one that we can get delivered to the castle for our twins' birthday lunch.

As advanced as Disney is in a lot of areas - this is one area they could do better. I want this to be a special memory for my daugthers, and would have liked more pictures to choose from. . .course, they won't know/care. . LOL. .they'll just be happy to have cake at the castle.

Hi - we're going to Disney in October to celebrate DS 21st birthday. He really wants to go to Wolfgang Puck Cafe in DTD for his birthday dinner. I'd like to make the evening as special as possible and what does that better than cake? :rotfl:

Does anyone know whether WPC does cakes? Do you have to bring one with you? The evening after we have a reservation at Narcoossee's but I guess I shouldn't wait until then for a special cake. Any thoughts? Suggestions?

TIA!

deleting, just learned we will order a cake from the castle - where they are having their birthday lunch.

My sis-in-law and bro-in-law got their DS a cake in the upstairs dining room of WCP a few years ago. It was a marble sheet cake really sweet icing. I'm not sure what they paid but since that was about four years ago I'm sure the prices have changed anyway.

That was my DD's cake and it was $80, made by the GF bakery! :thumbsup2

That cake looks fabulous. We're celebrating my grand-daughter's 2nd birthday in December. I'll be booking 1900 Park Fare for our 1st night. I think I'm going to do this for her. It will be a surprise for her mom & dad also!!

Thanks, PatriciaH, for posting the pic and Kona*Queen, for the price. Now I just have to wait for Monday to make my ADR!!

On the Food Porn thread I saw the slipper dessert in the castle was a regular chocolate (not white chocolate) slipper with the chocolate mousse piped in it. It looks different than the other pictures I've seen on it from the GF.

Any clues?

Kim

Not quite sure. I would like to know myself. I've been calling to find out about this, but have only gotten the run around.

This is what I know. When they first released photos of the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" desserts, they released a dark choc slipper dessert photo.

It was never available though in dark chocolate once they started serving it.

Then I started seeing posts this past Fall of folks who ate at the CRT getting a big surprise. Their slipper dessert was dark chocolate rather than white! They did NOT request dark chocolate though. I do not know if you can.

That's all I know about it.

Just ordered a mini castle cake for my sister!! The CM was super nice. I love it when they are excited for you that you are coming to Disney! :lmao:

I don't know if this is the place to post this question, but someone mentioned it in a thread here, so I am. Someone said to contact fairy_tale_bride about deliveries to the rooms at the resort. How would I do that, and is that still right?

This is the cake we had make for Faith's first birthday.

finally....here are a couple of photos of our DELICIOUS chocolate cake from Yachtsman Steakhouse. Sorry, I forgot to take a photo of the inside, but it was chocolate cake w/ chocolate mousee.....AWESOME! I would not hesitate to order one again! As a side note, the cake hotline girl on the phone was extremely nice and when I asked her if I needed to mention the cake at the podium and she I didn't need to, but if I wanted to, I could. Well, I would HIGHLY recommend that you mention it at the podium and to the host(ess) that seats you. When I mentioned it to the girl at the podium she looked at me as though I had 3 heads (

) and told me to tell my waitress...I told her that it's a surprise (DH didn't know) and couldn't tell my waitress in front of DH and I got the same look. I told the hostess about the cake, got the same look,,,,BUT she took my name and said she would handle it.....she passed a note to our waitress and at dessert the cake was there....just as ordered.

Ok....here's the cake:

Okay so I am going to order 2 mini castle cakes for my twin daughters birthday dinner at 1900 Park Faire.....my question is....I need to let the hostess know when we check in? Or they take my ADR # and deliver it at the end of our meal? Can anyone who's had a birthday cake at 1900 Park Faire let me know how they bring it over? Do they sing or do they just bring it?

Thanks!!
