:confused3 We have heard that the new MYW tickets are non transferable. Has anyone tried to use a ticket that was not their own and been denied. The old tickets were non transferable but my family always used each others tickets and never had a problem. Our daughter is going down next week and we aren't sure what kind of a ticket to buy b/c we have no idea when she will go down again and if our other daughters can't use it we're stuck! Please let us know if this is really a problem! THANKS!!

Yes, it will be a problem.

Ticket holders are required to sign their name to the back of the pass prior to the first use. Some passes are even printed with names on the front.

When the pass is first used, the owner must insert their hand in a biometric finger scanner which records personal information about the owner's finger dimensions on the ticket. At each subsequent use, the scanner is used again. The readings taken must match the baseline in order for the holder to be admitted.

If the finger scan fails, you must produce a photo ID which matches the signature on the back of the ticket.

To compensate for these additional security measures, WDW now sells passes in any number of days between 1-10, and features like park hopping and non-expiration of the pass are OPTIONAL. I'd recommend that your daughter buy a pass for the exact number of days she will need, do NOT purchase the non-expire option (the pass will be valid for 14 days from the first use.) She will have to decide whether she wants to pay extra for the park hopping feature or the Plus pack (water park / Pleasure Island / DisneyQuest admissions.)

You will save a few dollars by buying passes before arrival at WDW. Even though the trip is next week, you can pre-purchase from www.waltdisneyworld.com, and choose the "will call" delivery option. You will get the lower pricing on the tickets, and be given directions for collecting the pass upon arrival at WDW.
