New Concierge perk

From our Friends on the Fantasy last week, they were allowed to go from the Concierge Lounge in small groups and get to the front of the debarkation line--apparently like the fast Pass at WDW!!

Nothing like that for us in Oct 2013--we had to go down on our own with the rest of the mob.

Our friends who reported it didn't have this perk the last time they did Concierge.

But as I say, I'll check it out to see if it was just some snap decision or a regular policy.

He he, your as good as me on a IPad or can time travel like the good Doctor,

We had it on the Fantasy in 2012 when we skipped MDR breakfast and had a light breakfast in the CL at 6.45 am, they opened early that day, normally 7 am.

On the Magic this summer, we were escorted off in each port by our concierge, including priority tendering, ( I think she just wanted us off the ship), but on disembarkation breakfast we went to the MDR and got off at 8.30 am.

2013--2103--2525--it's all just TIME!!!!

We got no early port departures but that was because we were on tours and had to assemble with our group.

I can confirm this as well. We were on the Sept 27th sailing and the night before the Concierge host instructed us to come to the lounge at 7:45.

They walked the entire group down. We only skipped the lines up to the doors. Still had to get in the lines to the card readers with everyone else and then off on your own to gather luggage. It was great.

I do it all the time on my IPhone and IPad

It maybe down to how active the concierge hosts are, we have never had the host escort us off in every port before this summer, so a nice addition to the service. We got the concierge email address as well as we were on private tours do if we were late back could contact her.

Same for us the 1st week in October, except we set up our debarkation time with the host when we first boarded.

Could be.

I recall in 2013 that we decided to have an early "snack" in the Lounge instead of breakfast and we got there right at opening. A host was there and other than thanking us and wishing us well, said nothing about early debarkation.

They do have different standards I think the " regular" hosts are mostly pro active, but ones that fill from guest services sit back and relax a bit, maybe as on a different pay structure.

I will be quite pleased to skip the exit line. I hope that this perk is for real. Other cruise lines have priority embarkation and debarkation. I'd love to see DCL add priority debarkation for Concierge guests.

Intresting, I'm on the Fanasty in almost 2 weeks. I'll report back. Not sure I'll use it because I have no flight time issues, we'll be waiting in the airport for a 2pm flight.

I don't think it's a new perk. It was available on the Fantasy last year and we we had other concierge offer to speed us through debarkation over the years on the Magic. Unless it's now documented in Concierge Perks by DCL I think it depends more on how good your concierge team is during your cruise.

I think it is one of the official perks. I knew about it back in 2012 when I cruised on the Fantasy. I don't remember if it was on the website or if the concierge offered it to us, but I remember being walked to the gangplank by P.J. and escorted to the front of the debarkation line.

Agree.....

Well--If some Concierge guests have the ability to leave the ship ahead of others, then all concierge guests should. Should be no different than the ability to Board early.

Can't recall any Concierge printed material that mentions early disembarking as a perk(?)

I shall get to the bottom of it in a few days---
