Mother, Daughter and Sausage Dining Review! Final Meal - Complete 9/27!!

Well – the sausage had NOT planned to go to Disney this year. We are going on a 7 night Mediterranean Disney cruise in June of 2013 and didn’t think it would be in the budget to squeeze in one more trip prior to the cruise. But the darn sausage talked us into a short trip! And you can’t say no! I know it's a month and a half away but I just couldn't wait to start my dining review.

I'm sure that you’re most excited about seeing the sausage again but also included in this mother/daughter/sausage trip August 27th – August 31st (we just added one more day so we'll now be there until Sept 1!!) are:

Me (Tracy) - Also in the photo is my favorite ginger but he does not like to travel (even though you see him here at Yellowstone National Park) so he won't be joining us. I’m becoming the Disney freak that I never thought I would be. I’m more excited to be going back than my DD! In a previous dining report I mentioned that I was lactose intolerant but that was a year ago and now I’m much more lactose intolerant which makes me sad. I used to be able to drink some milk or eat ice cream , pop a Lactaid and it would keep most symptoms at bay. Not so much anymore which makes me very sad. Thankfully I can still tolerate cheese! I still need the Lactaid for cheese but I’m doomed with ice cream! So you might still see some dairy items in my report…I’m from WI so you can’t expect me to go cold turkey!!

DD12 (Eilee, rhymes with smiley) - Eilee on the other hand lives for ice cream. If she were to become lactose intolerant at some stage in her life she would not stand for it! I’m pretty sure you will see her eating ice cream every day. And if she can find pistachio gelato, there won’t even be a question as to what she’ll be having! Eilee also loves steak and chicken and crème brulee. She does not like hamburger, fish or seafood. Keep in mind that this is vacation and we fully intend go hog wild and eat whatever we want whenever we want! I’m a very bad influence on my child when we are on vacation, not a good role model at all.

This will be our first time without the dining plan! It’s a long boring story but because of inexpensive park hoppers through the YES program and a room only discount it seems like we will come out ahead. I WAS trying to keep this vacation as inexpensive as possible and then I went and paid for breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table and made a dinner ADR at California Grill! I had the best of intentions, honest! We will be doing a split stay with two nights at Coronado Springs and two nights at Port Orleans Riverside and have not stayed at either before! It is truly a trip of “firsts” as we’re eating at all new restaurants and staying at new resorts. We have one of the new Royal Guest Rooms at POR so I’m excited to see what Tiana has in store for us! On a previous trip we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and Eilee went ape wild over beignets so I can assure you that we will end up walking over there at some point to get some. One cannot be in such close proximity to beignets and not go a little out of the way to get these powdered sugar covered, deep fried pillows of goodness!

A few tidbits about our eating style – we are not big buffet eaters so we won’t be going to any of those. Also, we do not plan our counter service meals. We just tend to find things that strike our fancy as we come across them. When my sister and I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour, our guide explained to us that when a restaurant has available seating, they send a cast member out front with a large white Mickey glove to entice guests to come inside. So I’m pretty sure that if we are hungry, and we happen to be walking by a table service restaurant and see a white Mickey glove waving at us…we would not be rude and we’d have to walk in!

So join the Sausage, Eilee and me on our fun, whimsical, overeating adventure! Next post will contain our dining plans!

Edited because we added one more day! Woo hoo!

So here is our plan so far! And keep in mind that we’re only there for 4 nights (now 5!!) and I’ve changed these ADRs about 800 times already so these are not set in stone.
Monday August 27 –50s PT Now Olivia's!at 6:20 pm.

Tuesday August 28 – Eilee is taking the YES class this morning at Animal Kingdom and it starts at 8:30. When she finishes up hopefully we’ll eat lunch at Flame Tree. We have dinner reservations at Rose & Crown 6:35pm.

Wednesday August 29th –Noon lunch at Les Chefs de France.

Thursday August 30th – We have an 8:40 am ADR at Cinderella’s Royal Table this morning! Eilee doesn’t know about this one but I’m pretty sure I’ll be the one that’s more stoked about eating here. Then 5:45 pm ADR at California Grill

Friday August 31st - Lunch at Via Napoli!

And these are our trip goals:
To make rope drop at least once
Try three different cupcakes
Ride the same ride 3 times in one day
Search for the paint brush on Tom Sawyer Island
To get three stealth photos of the sausage with characters
Eat a snack we’ve never tried
Get stuck on one ride (last time we got stuck on 4 different rides!)

Yay, I'm in!!! And I even got to be first! :woohoo:
Yes!! My first reader! So happy to have you join me jabead:cool1:

Second sign up :goodvibes: can't wait to hear all about it. Great pics too ;)

Thanks for you kind comment about the pictures! :) I don't like to get my picture taken so I rarely have any recent ones of myself! So I lucked out to have this one taken just last week in Montana! Glad that you're joining in!

This looks like fun - can't wait for your reviews! The pictures are all awesome, and I love the sausage story. :thumbsup2

When I'd originally written this I knew that I wanted to add one more day to our trip but I wasn't positive that I could make it happen. Well...I did some playing around with my vacation days and decided that I should just go for it! :cool1: I called the YES program to see if we'd be able to add an extra park hopper day and they said that it was no problem. So for the whopping price of $9.90 we added an extra day. And at the same time the price of flights went down as well. It was in the cards for us! pixiedust:

So with that I have added one lunch at Via Napoli on our bonus day. I'll also need to call to add an extra night on to our resort stay but I haven't done that yet.

I also forgot to mention that I got a new camera that I'm dying to try out! I've never had a decent camera before so you can all be my food porn guinea pigs!

How exciting to squeeze in a trip to WDW! Your DD is so pretty!

We will be at CRT for breakfast on 8/30 - look for us!

I want to get stuck on a ride too! I love it when the lights come on and you know it is game over! :upsidedow

Excuse me while I go read up on the sausage antics. :rotfl2:

I'm in too, sounds great and we are at WDW that week also - we will look out for you :)

I'm definitely in! I loved your report when you went with your sister!

All right a repeat reader!! I'm excited to have you back!

I will definitely look for you at CRT! It will be my first time actually seeing someone from the DIS in person! What time is your ADR?

The sausage is pretty funky looking these days but we can't give up on him now! :lmao: I just hope he doesn't accidentally open up at any time because then we'd have to put him to rest.

Wow - there are lots of people there at the same time! I sure hope that I get to meet some of you! Thanks for reading along.

I have an idea for a new tv show and it's called Extreme Resort Hopper. And I'm going to be in the first episode. So when I planned our trip it was only supposed to be 4 nights. My DD is taking a YES class at AK on the second day that starts fairly early so I wanted to stay somewhere close which ended up being Coronado Springs & we're there for the first two nights.
My DD chose Port Orleans Riverside for the next two nights and we have a Royal Guest Room.

So recently I decided to add one more night to our vacation and I was naturally going to add on one more night to POR but then I got to thinking...I'd sure like to try out one of the Epcot resorts because we've never done that. Add that to Epcot extra magic hours on our last night and the fact that an great friend will be at Yacht Club the same week we are there and there you have it - I am staying in that area one short night at Boardwalk Inn! :woohoo: That means 3 resorts over the course of 5 nights :eek::eek: What am I thinking?? I know, I know, you all think I'm completely crazy and that might be true! I'd love to stay there the entire time but it's not in the budget at this point but one night will give us a taste when planning future visits. At least I have a very "go with the flow" DD who is old enough to just go along with her whacko mom's plans! And I've also heard how easy it is to just drop off your bags with bell services on your way out in the morning and your bags will show up at your new resort later in the day! So no lugging our stuff around!

So now the question is...to add a Kouzzina breakfast ADR or not to add a Kouzzina breakfast ADR?;)

LOL - I'd be up for that show too (obviously all expenses paid ;) )

Definitely book Kouzzina for breakfast - you can review it for me before I go in October :goodvibes:

How many more changes can you get in during the next month??????????????

3 resorts in 5 nights? That is crazy. But for the opportunity to try out a brand new royal room and an Epcot resort, I actually think it's a good idea. :lmao:

Boardwalk has an awesome location - I love the walk to both Epcot and DHS. And regarding Kouzzina, I've really enjoyed the breakfast food there...but would it cut into park time? If you're early risers, you'll definitely want to take advantage of the walk to either Epcot or DHS before park opening (unless you're not doing a park on the last day, in which case I'd say yes to Kouzzina). :goodvibes

Yay, you are staying at the Boardwalk!!! That is currently my favorite resort. :thumbsup2 So if you have any questions about it, I might just be of some help. I've stayed there a few times lately. :rolleyes1

And definitely try and make it to breakfast at Kouzzina. But if you can't squeeze it into your schedule, then there is always the Boardwalk Bakery for a quick, yet still delicious breakfast. ;)

Oh, and I've done A LOT of resort hopping trips in the past and have never had any problems. In fact, my May 2002 trip was only for 5 nights and we stayed at 3 different resorts just like you. :thumbsup2

Makes perfect sense to me to do a split-split stay!! :thumbsup2 Yes! Add Kouzzina for breakfast. Love it... I want to try their waffles next time. If you want to save time you could always go to the Boardwalk Bakery.

I was tempted to change from BWV to BWI due to the great room only discounts for the deluxes in August.
