Happy Thanksgiving to all my Peeps !!

Hello Everyone! I had a wonderful time in Texas for Thanksgiving with my DS and fam. My vacation was made even better my getting to meet up with the Oh-so-sweet Camille! We've been connecting here, and then on FB and some long phone calls, so I was so excited to make my virtual friend a "real" friend! :yay: She drove 2 hrs or so to pick me up at DS's house - true to how we roll, she called to tell me she'd be late, and we talked for about 20 minutes of her drive :goodvibes

When I opened the door, it was so fun to see her adorable self standing there, and to give her a huge ! She came in and met DH Jim and our DGD 3, Londynn who was peeking at her over the back of the couch.
We assured Jim she had left her axe in the back of her van! :rotfl2:
We were thinking of all of you, and started our day with a pic:

We headed out to lunch, trying to get all our conversation in on our drive!
We had a delicious meal at Carino's - we were so busy talking we forgot to take any food porn, but here we are with our leftovers:

I just loved being able to spend time with the fabulous Camille, who is so encouraging and sweet to all of us! I felt like an old grandma next to her - she looks so young and is so much fun! I found out she is really spunky!

We took one more picture:

and we were on our way "back to the house." Thank you so much, Camille for taking the time to meet with me, and I can't wait to see you out here in the Spring!

While I have your ears, I'll post a couple of pics of the family,

DDS Mark, DDIL Lindsay, DGS 5 Myles and DGD 3 Londynn, Jim and myself at the Riverwalk:

Thanks for letting me share! Hope you are all having a great Christmas season so far! :santa:

:cool1: I loved reading about the DISmeet! It's funny that jokes about axes always come out when we try to explain our DIS-friends to our families. (Or is it just when my DIS-friends try to explain me to their families?)

I think we made the same jokes Camille. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Camille came to pick me up at my hotel and I just jumped right in the car with her. I was more concerned that she would have to pay for parking in downtown San Antonio rather than for my safety.

And just how do people NOT fall in that River on a regular basis??? :confused3

Glad you had another successful meet and it is good to "see" you again Camille.

Thanks for sharing this Dismeet with us! Sounds like you had such a great time!

Wow, 3 yr olds playing basketball?

Thanks for posting Tammie! Looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great Dis Meet.

Glad you enjoyed it! We did have a great time.

Just you, Glenn. :rotfl2:

Sounds like you two had a great time, too! Camille said she really enjoyed your time and I saw the pics!:thumbsup2

Wow, 3 yr olds playing basketball?

Thanks for reading! It was fun. The internet is amazing - none of us would know each otherr otherwise! Well, except for Wendy and Jordan and Derek! :goodvibes

3 yr old BB is hilarious! They call it Bitty Ball and they have about a third of the court with portable 6 ft baskets. Only a few 4 yr olds can score really - the 3 yr olds try, then cover their heads cuz they know the ball is coming down!:lmao: Last time, Mason was growling at the kids who were guarding him too agressively - laughed until we cried!:rotfl:

Well, uh, um.......not sure what to say.......

Tammie, we loved the River Walk when we went there a few years ago! for the DISmeet with Camille!

I'm just seeing the pics of your visit to the "ranch" now Wendy - thank you so much for posting them! Jordan really looks great!! Continued prayers for his complete healing!

I think it's just wonderful that people have sent on gift boxes and included things for the other guys there. :thumbsup2 Is anyone organizing anything for Christmas where a bunch of us donate $5 or $10 for a big 'ol gift card to send to Jordan and the other guys? We cannot afford a lot right now, but I'd love to be able to send him something and I think if a bunch of us got together we could send a bigger one!

Anyone else up for that?

Also - can you order/mail Wal*Mart gift cards online? We don't have Wal*Mart here...

I've sent a couple on-line. Just go to Walmart.com and order, you can have them sent directly to Jordan!

Great Dis Meet !!! From the DC Meet Tracey and I have made an annual Dis Meet for when I am in Albany for a work conference and we had a Ball !! Even my Non Dis Co Workers are looking forward to our next Dis Meet!!

It is so great to meet up face to face with fun people we've been connecting with for such a long time! Gotta love the DIS!:grouphug:

OMGosh Tammie I had no idea you were going to post our meet here. I feel so bad not knowing!
I loved finally meeting you in person, it felt like two old friends hanging out together. :goodvibes I have a feeling we'd get into lots of trouble together if we lived near one another.
Ms. Tammie is such a beautiful lady, she's far from grandma looking, trust me.

Thank you Glennbo. It is funny because I knew this about Tammie's hubby and had to tease him about it before we left. I think I asked him if he thought I was normal enough to take his wife out about without worry of me with an axe. He kinda laughed nervously and would hardly look at me! He did say he was okay with it though.

I think we made the same jokes Camille. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I know!! :rotfl: I wanted to make sure you were okay with going somewhere with me, I didn't want to freak you out by driving you any where if you weren't okay with it. :goodvibes You were totally great about it, which made me feel less nervous about our meet.

Camille came to pick me up at my hotel and I just jumped right in the car with her. I was more concerned that she would have to pay for parking in downtown San Antonio rather than for my safety.

She did too! :rotfl: It was so great, I noticed her inside and waved furiously and she came bounding out, I thought it was because she saw me waving but I think it was because she saw my Mickey ears antena ball first! :rotfl:
She hopped right on in, we hugged a side ways hug since I was strapped in with the seat belt and off we went!! :car: It was like we'd been friends forever and picked up were we last left off. :goodvibes

And just how do people NOT fall in that River on a regular basis??? :confused3

Something I've always wondered myself, I lived there 5 years and knew there was a great amount of garbage drug up out of there every year when they had the Mud Fest. I don't know Pat, you do the math, lots of bars and drunks, no ropes to keep people from falling in, I think the chances are pretty good.

Glad you had another successful meet and it is good to "see" you again Camille.

Awww, thank you Pat. It was a great meet, just not long enough.

Well, uh, um.......not sure what to say.......

Tammie, we loved the River Walk when we went there a few years ago! for the DISmeet with Camille!

:goodvibes River walk is a lively fun place, don't you think Marv? It can be very romantic, especially at Christmas time with all the lights up.

I can't wait for my chance to finally meet with you and Tracey, Ms. Rosie. How are you lady? I miss your funny antics.

:goodvibes I do! Meeting with you Tammie was such a treat, I just wish we had had more time. So you thought I was spunky, huh? :goodvibes

Long overdue but Jordan was ever present with us at the DC meet!!

OMGosh!! :rotfl: I have to agree with Brooke on this one!! :rotfl:

Yes, Miss Spunky! I think you could give the B's on The View (which I don't watch) a run for their money - I mean maybe a NEW VIEW!!! :rotfl2:

You are so sweet - it was fun to make our friendship more "real."

Hey, my son said people fall in that water all the time!!! It's really shallow!
I almost fell in myself this trip - I was walking and looking at my camera, and the walkway started to curve - I almost didn't!

Getting ready to get going on my cookies and shopping this week - I'm a little behind!

Hi everyone. Sorry for the long absence. Just checking in to say "Hi" and say thanks to Camille for the Christmas card. That got my attention to visit the DIS.

Life has been hectic with the usual Christmas festivities (I finally got the Christmas lights up and got the tree in the living room but it's still barren and without decorations!).

Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas, Happy Hannukah and a Kool Kwanza.

All the best from Derek, Wendy, Erin, Dylan and Ashlyn
