I'm not sure how you can mistake a wild turkey for an eagle. That just seems crazy. I wonder if someone corrected him on their way off the bus.
That really is funny.
I don't know. I guess I could give him the benefit of the doubt and maybe there was an eagle that I couldn't see circling overhead getting ready to have some turkey for dinner.
Or maybe the bus driver just doesn't know what he's talking about.
It's gotta be one of the two.
That is so sweet of you to get him something, especially a really cool Star Wars toy. My boys are all really into Legos, but not Star Wars. Did your son like the movie or was it too much for him?
He really enjoyed it. He'd seen I think the IV and V with me before, but ever since we saw the new movie, he's wanted to see pretty much anything Star Wars we can watch.
That is a loooooong wait for a bus. Hopefully you didn't have a zero wait expectation.
I never have a zero wait expectation. I have a zero wait dreams! I always hope for something around 5 to 10 minutes... but of course you get a 19 every once in a while. Usually at the worst possible time.
That's a long time to wait in a confined monorail train. I think I'd be begging to get off.
I was starting to consider options at that point.
Did you take any pictures inside Trader Sam's?
I didn't. It felt a little stalkerish just coming in and walking around and taking pictures in a crowded bar and leaving.
I would have thought the same thing, that she would know where to go. At least you didn't walk too far before figuring it out.
The thing is, my gut feeling was that she was wrong. But I went with what she said. I apparently should have just gone with my gut and not asked.
And this is why I'll never ask for directions again.
Yippee! You got to meet with the disdads after all.
Well, most of them. Some of the runners seemed to think it would be irresponsible to go out drinking the night before the half.
I'm sure that is a very neat experience.
It definitely was.
Amazing! Do you know how long they will be running that show?
It is part of Season of the Force, so I guess for as long as they're running that promotion. I don't really know for sure. I'd imagine they might phase it out and bring back the Frozen summer events this summer, maybe?
Nice! I'm the total opposite of your wife. I would have called my DH freaking out and he would have reacted the same way as your wife, the car isn't damaged, no one was hurt. I once called him driving home from work (in a bad area) telling him something fell out of the bottom of the car and I couldn't steer the car. He calmly tells me not to worry something just can't fall out of the car (he's a mechanical engineer by the way, working for a car company). I'm screaming that I can't turn the wheel and the dials (not sure what they're called) are all lowering. I pull the steering wheel as hard as I can into a parking lot. He tells me he'll get a ride to come help me (we carpooled). It's freezing out and I wait outside of the car, just in case it blows up (yep, I'm that dumb). Anyways, turns out some belt fell off and did drop out of the car. He even walked further down the busy street and found it in the middle of the road. I couldn't steer because I had no power steering. I think he was more excited to try and fix the car than actually knowing I was ok.
So a garage door falling would be a "project" for him.
Well, my concern was that there was something I needed to take care of and I wasn't there.
And actually, DW's story to me sounds a little bit similar to what you did. I mean she called me and said the door fell on her car. What actually happened was a piece of the track worked loose and the door got jammed on the way up. It didn't get high enough to clear the back of her car and she backed into the bottom or the door.
Anyway, no harm done to either the door or the vehicle. A little scuff to buff out of the top brake light on her car, but that was it. Her brother just had to fix the track and it was good to go.
It was apparently good too!
Seriously?!!!! I totally thought I shot myself in the foot with that guess.
That's why I made it worth so many points. I felt like that was so random that nobody would get it. Good job!
What a great night!
It really was!
That was kind of my reaction too. Impressive!
Having to check in to the conference earlier than you were hoping to.
Gringotts (if it did, did you snap any pictures while exiting the ride?)
Roar like a dinosaur. Not sure if roar is the right word.
Got em!
Yes they did but it was pretty pointless as it would just update as the bus skipped us. YOu would come up the depot would be fairly empty and the tv would show a wait of 20 or less and you would think, "Fabulous we got here in enough time! Not a long wait at all.." 30 minutes later the depot would be rather crowded at this point. Some family would send their older kid to check the tv and low and behold the time had changed AGAIN and again and again
. Heck for March, I'm not even looking for
@pkondz level of Bus Mojo just regular old no more than a 20 minute wait for a bus mojo would make me happy.
Hmmm... that stinks. It seemed pretty accurate the few times we used the bus. We also never had a bus just completely bail on us and pass that stop. I just don't understand the logic behind the way they did it when you were there. And of all the stops to pass by, why would you skip the stop that is right there near the lobby?
Just checking in?
You'll love it here.
Nevermind the crowd of 300 ticked off people waiting for a bus right over there.
So I have never been in Martha's Vineyard lounge and I have never heard anyone talk about entertainment there. So that is a first for me. This was a Friday night, right? I'm going to have to go over to the thread and ask about it.
ETA: So I asked over on the thread-
Someone found a review on Trip Advisor from November:
"The entertainment here on Saturday from 3-7 pm, John Stevens, is a lot of fun! Catch him if you can.
Staff here is amazing and accommodating. The food menu is small, but they have a full service kitchen for the nearby Cape May Cafe, so if you would like something you do not see, just ask (especially if you are vegetarian or vegan like me!)

Was this the guy?
and from Teena:
Dang, you're fast! Yes, it was a Friday night. I'm not sure if it was the same guy or not. I didn't see a picture of him on there, but I'd say that's a good possibility that this is who it was.
I'd honestly be quite happy if on my next trip, my average wait time was double last trip's.
Definitely. If it was always like that, I'd take a bus every time.
So that's it, huh?
Hey, did you hear that... hmmm... either it was a part of or a city in Germany has made food porn illegal?
Hmm... interesting. I don't have a problem with food pictures. But I'm not big on taking a lot of pictures to begin with. And I love food, but I'm far from being a foody. I don't care about preparation and presentation. It could look like a pile of stuff thrown on a plate. All I care about is how it tastes. So taking pictures of food has never really been something that I cared much about.
And besides. By the time I've got food in front of me, I'm probably too hungry to take time to do anything other than eat.
Good point.
It just sounded like (from descriptions I've read) a nice place to sit and chill.
It is. But the inside area is pretty small. It wasn't crowded at all when I was there, but I'd assume it can fill up quickly.
No one, including me, will ever be that lucky with the buses again.
Not even Bob Iger?
Probably some cattle or sheep crossing the elevated tracks.
That had to be it!
That's it? I was under the impression that it was much larger.
It was small. I'd heard that it is small, but honestly, I didn't expect it to be as small as it was when I walked in. I just ballparked that number for capacity, but I actually looked and Disney Food Blog has the capacity listed at 51. Now there's a much larger outdoor seating area with some of the drinks available, but you don't get the same ambience or experience as being inside.
I guess it just depends, like any job.
On my solo trip, I spoke briefly with a custodial CM and it was her first day.
Everybody has to have a first day at some point!
Yeah. A triple dog dare would've been overkill.
That's more appropriate for getting someone to drink Beverly.
It was on the lunch room TV at work the other day. Caught the last few minutes.
Those fight sequences at the end? They really suck now.
I hear that. Those days get long.
Fun update! Also, I am sending prayers and good thoughts your way!
Thank you, it is much appreciated.
This is hilarious.
We have wild turkeys that roam around our town on occasion and I must say they look nothing like eagles. I think that bus driver needed some glasses.
Well, they're both large birds. Aside from that...
This sounds like a fun place, i definitely want to try and check it out next time.
I hope you can. I really liked it a lot. The ambience, drinks, food and service were all fantastic.
I'm heading to DL in April, one of the things i wanna do is check out Trader Sam's. Both of them (at DL and WDW) sound pretty awesome.
I hope you can pull it off. So far I'm 0 - 2 in my Trader Sam's attempts.
I am imagining all the dad jokes taking place!
There might have been a few.
I watched a live feed of this show. I thought the feed cut out when I watching but I guess it is just that short.
Yeah, it's a good show, but it needs to be a little bit longer...
