Hi guys

Not sure where to post this but I guess a Hollywood Star could be considered an "attraction" at WDW :p

Anyway, this is our first ever trip to the U.S. and unfortunately, we are not able to visit Los Angeles this time round (we decided to choose San Fran over LA) and are quite upset that we won't be bumping into anyone famous on the streets of Rodeo Drive or Sunset Blvd....

So my question is..have you ever seen anyone famous at WDW and if so, who??! We would love to meet a big Hollywood Star at WDW...it would definitely make our day if we bumped into someone famous while lining up for Space Mountain!!!!!

How exciting! I hope you enjoy your visit!

I saw Katy Perry in Epcot a few years ago.
John Travolta many years ago in MK.
Several soap stars at the AKL.
The guitarist for 3 Dog Night at the Boardwalk Inn.
Others I'm sure, but I'll have to try to remember.

One thing though, you won't see celebs queueing like the rest of us. For security reasons they "back door" famous people.
And, with sunglasses and a hat, many celebrities look like anybody else.

BTW, Sir Paul McCartney was spotted with his daughter Beatrice at MK about a month ago! I wish I had seen him, I would have fainted! :faint:

On my very first trip back in 1997 I saw Michael Anthony from Van Halen. That's the one and only celebrity I have seen in all my trips.

I saw Neil Patrick Harris back in his Doogie Howser days at DHS. He was doing some meet and greet thing in front of the Chinese Theater.

I saw Mickey Mouse...Does this count...LoL J/k. We went on a family trip with in laws and all 5 years ago & saw Bill Murray with 2 sons...My Father in Law, made a comment like , wow I thought you were a lot taller, or something like your smaller in person...Talk about embarrassing. LoL.

We saw Michael Douglas & Katherine Zeta Jones at Hollywood Studio. We were looking for the purple cat at Osborne lights. My wife said to me "That's Michael Douglas & Katherine Zeta Jones" I took off after them to get some pictures. I was just about to take a picture of them with their children when I felt like a slimy paparazzi. I don't know how they can do that.
But when we came home and watch the video they were in it.

WOW!! Some awesome names so far...hopefully we will also be as lucky as some have been on here :)

I've got a picture of Tom Cruise at Pleasure Island. I think he was filming Days of Thunder at that time. Very exciting.

We saw Bruce Jenner with his entire family at the Festival of the Lion King. It was dark and they were escorted in and seated in the front by CMs, but I have eyes like a hawk. Of course this was before the Kardashian show started, so Bruce was the actual celeb to us.

I really hope you don't. Unless they're doing a meet and greet, they're there on a vacation, just like you, probably with their kids. Would you enjoy being stopped every time you turned around for someone to take a picture of you or ask for your autograph while trying to get your kid a Dole Whip? Or get on a ride? If you do see a celebrity out in public, leave them alone. Even if it's in Hollywood or LA on the street. To interrupt their day is just tacky.

While I agree with the sentiment, I must add, if they don't want the attention, they should have chosen a different line of work.

So they get no privacy at all. :confused3 Where is the line? Would it be OK to go to their house and knock on their door.

I understand where you're coming from but I disagree in some ways...

I think that a papparazzi hanging out all night in front of a famous person's home and taking private snaps of them doing private things in the privacy of their home is wrong...I think chasing them through the streets and driving dangerously and putting innocent lives at risk in the process just to get a few snaps is wrong...but if they choose to go out in the general public like walking down the streets of LA or having a day out with their families at WDW, they should expect people to get excited with their presence! They get paid zillions and its the general public that makes a person famous so they should return some of this favour time to time...anyway, it's not like I will stalk a star until I get his or her picture or autograph...I would be happy just to be walking on the same street with them, or dining with them in the same restaurant or even just to be able to view them from a distance...it's not common to see a big name Hollywood Star here in Australia so it's something that I've always wanted to see on this trip to the U.S.

When I saw Tom Cruise he was very engaged with everyone at Pleasure Island. This was just when he and Nicole were starting to date. He had his security with him but he definitely was up for taking photos with everyone.

I would never do anything like that if he had had his family with him.

IMO its all about having some class both as the celeb and as the fan
There is nothing wrong with asking for a picture at the right time and there is nothing wrong with saying not right now

The problem is most people don't have class and just start takings pictures or interfering with the person in some way.
On the flip side if the celeb is a jerk about thinks it drives fans to into poparotzi mode

My boyfriend ran right into a Jonas brother in the bathrooms in Adventureland. I was in the ladies room and missed the whole thing, but he snapped a few photos to prove it when the Jonas was mobbed by girls when he exited.

I think you summed this up perfectly!!!!!

Anyway, I don't want this turning out to be a who's right or who's wrong debate..so please could you all get back on topic.

I just want to know which famous persons have been spotted at WDW so please keep the names coming :)

How did we go from "we're going to San Fran instead of LA" and then followed by "so are there any celebs sighted at WDW"? Disneyland is in Cali on the West Coast. Walt Disney World is in Florida and 3000 miles away. :goodvibes
