Has anyone upgraded to DVC gold annual pass from Parksavers ticket?

OK, just bought 3. When I tried to talk to DH and explain he glossed over so I just made the excutive decision to do it!

I was a little confused about "person redeeming". I was expecting they were going to ask for the names of everyone I was buying them for? But so I just put myself. Hope that was the right guess?!
GIRL I WAS SO HAPPY TO GET YOUR TEXT!!!!:yay:

If you are going to link them to MDE the names don't matter - I successfully linked ours to each of us.

The correct name is important only if you plan on redeeming the voucher they e-mail - you'd need ID to redeem.

I ordered 3 tix with a redemption date of Sept 17th but only DH and I will be using our 2 at that time. DS won't be using his until January. So they will just give me the 3rd tix along with ours and I will keep it for him until that trip right? ie it is not actived until he uses it to get in, right?

Yes that should be correct. Technically these are like AP vouchers and don't expire.

Just came across this thread...

edit: ** After some research, I think I found my answer to the below scenario...you can not combine tickets **

I already purchased tickets (The DVC 25th Anniversary "special" ones from earlier this year) for our upcoming trip, but I was wondering, can I buy tickets from parksavers and then have Disney combine the two (the one I already have and the one from parksavers) to upgrade to an AP? If so, how do they calculate the cost of the AP? Will Disney credit me what I actually paid for the tickets or will they credit me current face value (i.e. if I buy a ticket from parksavers for $389 will they credit me the face value of $467 towards the AP)?

And to add to the above...if I can do the above scenario, what if the two pre-purchased tickets are more $$$ than the AP? Will Disney give me credit back or will I lose the difference? According to my math, the DVC Anniversary ticket was $405, the parksavers ticket cost is $389, but guessing Disney gives me full value of $467 and the DVC AP plus is $826:

$405 (DVC Anniversary ticket)
+ $467 (parksavers ticket)
------
= $872
- $826 (DVC Plus AP)
------
= $46 (What happens to the $46; do I get it back or lose it?)

Thanks for any comments or suggestions.

1. Disney will only exchange one ticket per upgrade
2. Tickets purchased directly/separately from Disney will not be "bridged," so you will be credited the amount you paid
3. Disney keeps the change when an exchange/upgrade exceeds the new value. But there aren't any current tickets where that's possible since no-expiration tickets are no longer available.

#2 Do you mean they no longer bridge tickets from UT or Park Savers?????

A few years ago Disney announced they were not going to bridge tickets (non-package) purchased directly from Disney. Unlike a broker they know exactly what you paid since they sold them.

No I believe he means...
1. You can't put multiple tickets towards the purchase of one upgrade.
2. Tickets not part of a package & purchased directly through WDW will not be bridged.
3. Not applicable

I'm not sure how you read that into my comment. If Disney knows how much you paid for the ticket, that's what they give you credit for. If they don't, then they bridge it to the current gate price.

OK so I got my confirmation #'s from parksavers and entered them into MDE. So now we have current AP's in there but they expire on July 25th and we have these new 7-day hoppers. I have 2 trips planned - the first one is Sept. 17th and I think if I'm counting right I can book my FP+ on July 20th. But so when I look at the FP+ in the MDE it only allows me to scroll 1 month. As if I'm not staying onsite. So I'm guessing that I'm still missing a step (as in also linking these new tix to my Sept. stay) & I can't figure it out. I tried to link the tix to the confirmation # but it said the res. was already linked. Do you think it's referring to my old AP's that are about to expire? I need to book FP+ on the new tix before the old AP's expire. I'm really feeling like I'm missing something here and I don't know what?!?! How do I get the new tix tied into my Sept. res?!?!

You'll only be able to see 30 days out until your FP+ date opens up.

As Madame said you won't see past 30 days until you hit the 60 day mark from your check-in and can actually book them.

Can the BWV concierge desk do the upgrading/bridging from a Parksavers ticket to a DVC Gold annual pass? I'm guessing not, so do I need a Guest Relations window or will a ticket window work?

Ticket window I think is what @ravenclawtrekkie posted in TPAS, but GS if you're looking for a voucher to activate at a later date.

We bought discounted tickets through Undercover Tourist and upgraded to AP's. You actually do need to use the ticket at least the first day and then the ticket basically has the full value of the 7 day park hopper if you were to purchase through Disney. THEN you can upgrade to the annual pass and you pay the difference between the cost if you were to purchase through Disney and the AP cost. Keep in mind you need to do this at Guest Services and you will probably wait a while in line and then if I remember correctly everyone in your party being upgraded needs to be present for the upgrade. My husband was super annoyed that we spent precious early morning hours at the Magic Kingdom dealing with upgrading to AP's but for me it was worth it.

If you are interested in going to a water park, if you go after you upgrade to AP you would be eligible for the ticket discount. There is an AP that includes the water parks but it it's several hundred dollars more than what we have (gold AP pass) and was not worth the extra cost for us.

Respectfully, the bit about having to use the ticket at least once before upgrading it has now been unequivocally confirmed to be untrue by a number of people including a ticketing CM who posts on this forum :).

Can you add water parks to these later?? My friends wants to know?????
You can upgrade tickets to add the water parks.

Or, if your friend doesn't need 7 days they have a 5 day hopper plus water parks that has almost exactly the same savings over the gate price.

I didn't see this mentioned here (and wasn't the question in this case) but so it's worth repeating just as a heads up. If you redeem a water park entitlement on a MYW pass, you can only ever upgrade it to most expensive "platinum plus" AP. In other words, you can't buy a discounted multi-day ticket, add water parks, go to a water park, and then try to upgrade to a gold pass. It's a small, but important caveat!

If you have to use the ticket once....we always upgrade later in the afternoon when we are leaving the park to either park hop or or take a break. Usually the lines are short then.

Someone help me gut-check my back-of-the-napkin math. These 7-Day hoppers are $390. Gate price is $468, so that's what we'll be credited towards the Gold AP (which is $549). So we should be able to upgrade to the Gold pass for about $80, correct? So we're paying about $470 instead of $550?

Also, if we use one day of the tickets before upgrading, we could use that on a blacked-out date right? So if our vacation starts on a blacked out date, we can use the tickets, then upgrade at GS?
