"Golden Corral was our best meal" says my Sister. 8 days of yum for us, not them!

Enjoying your reviews.

We made the mistake one year and invited some extended family members to join us one year. It was by far our worst visit. Some people don't have the same love for Disney as others. When my DW and I came home, we felt like we had lost some disney magic. We went back 2 years later with just our 2 kids and we had the best WDW vacation ever. Now, we can't wait to go back. We are down to 55 days.

I'm guessing your sister and BIL also ask for ketchup at a restaurant for their steak...pedestrians.

OMG that is definitely my MIL. It doesn't matter if she is getting a steak at California Grill or a local Steakhouse, she always asks for ketchup, even if the steak has a marinade on it or not :sad2:. Once we took her and my DIL to Le Cellier and she got the Mushroom Filet, now you probably already guessed what she asked the waitress to bring out. You should of seen the look on the waitress's face, DH and I actually had the same look on our faces too. DH couldn't believe it, I just told him she likes what she likes and that is that.

Been a busy few months, we live right on the lake so summer is BUSY for us ;) I promise to get this finished !!!

The BD sounds like a wonderful place to eat. I am going to have to try it out soon :)

It is! We love it there :)

I think it would be worth inviting them back just for the entertainment value alone. :lmao:

We keep our trips on the down low just to avoid someone casually inviting themselves to crash our plans!

We do like to sit and imagine how it might go if we did invite certain friends or family....what they would say, what time we would actually arrive at the parks, how long the discussions about gas prices would be, how they would complain about how dry their steak (ordered well-done along with stupid joke about it not mooing :rotfl:). Having experienced this vicariously through you has certainly strengthened our resolve.

Do not talk about how fun Disney is. Do not talk about how fun Disney is. :rolleyes1

LOL

LOVE your Monster's Inc photo! Perfect!

So happy you and hubby had a lunch alone. :woohoo:

So were we !

Wow, Golden Corral! And all the sleeping! My DH laughs at me because at home, I am soooo not a morning person, but in Disney, I am the first one up, never miss a Rope Drop. Next time, just leave your sis and take me instead! Can't wait to hear the rest.
P.S.- putting Brown Derby on my list for next trip!

I'm the same way with mornings at home! I'm like, super morning mom while in WDW though LOL. And you HAVE to try BD! You won't be disappointed!

Was so disappointed when I got to the end of this thread and the trip wasn't over. As a fellow Michigander I can't wait to read the rest of your reviews. We're travelling with my MIL for our first family trip with our son. I wasn't too concerned but now you have me worried.

Hopefully everything went well!

Wow! your sis sounds like mine, she cant order anything in a restaurant without sending it back at least once. I had to stop going out with her it was so embarrassing!

Yep, its a common issue in my "family". I hear ya !

Joining in! This is why we don't do massive family vacations. I'm happy with my two kiddos and sweet husband who follow all of my carefully made plans without complaints! :)

I'm telling you, never again LOL. We'll keep to the fab 5 here ;) kids and us!

My two best friends are going on our next trip with us, and I am nervous about just this aspect of the trip. We are already telling them "No Complaints at DISNEY!" I seriously think, after reading this, that I am going to say here is how the busses work, dinner is at such and such a time at such and such a place, give me a call when you get to the park. I am SO not wasting park time for Pokey McPokearound and her sidekick Distracted O'Shiny. Love them both, but they are going to show up weeks late for their own funerals and blame the other one for the delays.

Your humor will help me not dump their bodies in Hourglass Lake for Alligator food.

hahaha....

hope your trip was GOOD!

This whole thread cracks me up. The weird thing is iv always wanted to try the golden corral. Being from Rhode Island, we don't have any near us and the closest one is about an hour away. We get the commercials but not the restaurant. Maybe that's a good thing. If that were my sister I think I would have slapped her by the second adr. I'm guessing she doesn't belong to disboards . (Thank God)

Lord help us all if she joins us lol. And you really, really don't want to go there. Really. Stay far, far away ! Its so gross...

Love the title! Looking forward to hearing how the rest went...

Ashamed I haven't kept up on this review! Didn't realize how many were following!

Dear Threaders,

every time we pass a golden corral here in this state, I LMFAO over this thread.

:rotfl2:

I cannot tell you how many times I have shared this.

The OP on this thread gets the Thread of the Year vote, in my opinion.

LOL thanks! Now I just have to finish it ;)

The OP hasn't posted in the last 3 months, so I think we might be doomed to forever wonder how the rest of the trip went.:worried:

I'm still alive ! And promise to finish :)

I thought maybe... But maybe a newer reply will prompt an update? One can hope. :rolleyes1

Busy Michigan Summers :) Sorry guys!

YIPPY!!! I was having a pretty bad week up here in canada, it's cold, my coworkers are evil and The stuff happening in Ottawa (my uncle is an MP who was there as well as two friends in the building!) this is a very happy thing to wake up to this morning!!!!

welcome back- my sister back east who has never been to Disney and I both can relate to the so called relatives /outlaws who are like this.

it is nice that we are not the only ones who.....well, how shall I put this, have trouble with the thoughts of THROTLING the Life out of someone who behaves like that. :rolleyes1

I read this thread and get my bearings back.

at the moment I am listening to Ursula singing Poor Unfortunate souls...................

So glad to see you're back, I just joined and have really enjoyed your reviews so far. I can't believe how cranky your sister & BIL were on the trip. Did they complain about everything else, too, or did they at least have fun at the parks?

Great reviews so far! :thumbsup2

This thread makes me glad that my sister who I normally travel with has similar tastes to mine and isn't a complainer. I would go insane if I had to travel with someone like your sister and BIL.

And about hot dogs, there is such a thing as a bad hot dog. I'm pretty picky when it comes to hot dogs. I really only like Koegels or the ones you get at the ballpark. I know, I'm weird. LOL

Did your Sis and BIL have anything to say about Sci-fi?

Aw, hope this next ones better for you! Its cold here too in MI :/ God Bless you guys!

Yay! I can't wait to read more! I'm so glad you are back!

Pretty miserable people all the way around. Though, they did enjoy Golden Corral and a night at the Casino...

Oh no, she complained about that one too! They even gave her a complimentary souvenir cup filled with popcorn but that didn't impress her. They said it was "OK". I thought they would have enjoyed SciFi because its basic food....

So, every time we hit HS I typically go to the Villians shop prior to Fantasmic to get my big, fat chocolate brownie. I was fairly upset to find out that they no longer have my beloved chunky chocolatey fattening ....brownie. :(

So, I suppose this will have to suffice....

And this...

And this...

I love Candy apples! This was devoured as we waited for the show to start. And I shamefully admit, I was the only one to eat it. All of it. The shell was sweet and just hard enough on the outside...crunchy on the inside, tart --not mushy like the ones at the carnivals and stuff. Candy apples are underrated! And I love them.

DH decided on the sugar cookie. Actually, I remember I forced this upon him LOL. It smelled sooo good. I ate Mickeys ear. Simple, just sweet enough, slightly chewy and the sprinkles on top made it the perfect treat to snack on. Though these are yummy to eat for sure, I always come back to the smell of them. DH didn't even eat but maybe a piece of Mickeys ear and I kept smelling into the bag lol. I know, I'm probably a weirdo.

Anyway, that was that. I was excited for Fantasmic to start. Was kinda bummed that we had to sit in the far back in the Handicap section since my sister was in a scooter at this point and wouldn't really get out much. I'm one of those ppl who like to get front and center for shows ! :)

If you haven't seen Fantasmic YOU MUST on your next visit!

Next up....

Breakfast off property (GASP), Big Cat Rescue/Tampa, Clearwater Beach & OHANAS!!! My Sisters official Bday , I tried to make special for her! We shall see how things went !

Just read through all of your posts, here. And I am wondering if you are sure you had your SIL and her husband. Because I am quite sure you had my sister and her husband. :lmao:

Oh that's a busy day - I'm sure she'll find something she hates! I haven't ever had a candy apple (weird right?) but I've had the caramel/chocolate ones before and loved them, so I can imagine it's delicious.

Woot Woot!! I'm so glad you're back

Thanks :) Ya'll are SO forgiving !!

:rotfl: !!!! I truly am sorry! We haven't spoke much since our trip, her last words to me once we arrived home kinda got to me in a bad way LOL

I honestly prefer the candy apples! But won't turn down a nice caramel one either.

I log on and see there's an update on this thread and think "I can't wait to hear the latest Golden Corral update." Imagine my surprise when I open the page and at the top and bottom are ads for.....Golden Corral! Are they they new official sponsor of this story? There's Pepsi coming out my nose from laughing so hard when I read it!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I can't wait to hear the rest either! Going with My BIL and SIL and their 4 for Thanksgiving...hoping it is fun! My DH is the complainer in our family :crazy2:

Really loving this report. How could they always find something to not like? was your sister a picky eater as a kid?
