Kringla Bakeri og Kafe, Epcot (Breakfast)
The Kringla is another great place for "breakfast"!
Iced Coffee Mocha – Very sweet.
Troll Horn - Cloudberry Jam with Whipped Cream in a Crispy Pastry Sugar-Coated Shell. This is one of Figment’s long-time favorite items at the Kringla. The sugar-coated shell is yummy and the filling is light and airy.
School Bread - Sweet Cardamom Bun filled with Vanilla Crème Custard and topped with Glazed and Toasted Coconut. This is another one of Figment's long-time favorite items. It seemed like it was bigger than it was two years ago!
Berry Cream Puff – Puff Pastry filled with Whipped Cream and Fresh Berries. A nice light dessert, with a good amount of fruit.
Viking Chocolate Mousse - Chocolate Mousse with Ganache. Chocolate!
Ohana, Polynesian Resort (Dinner)
It's become one of Figment's family's traditions to have dinner at 'Ohana before MNSSHP. With the new, earlier opening time for dinner, it makes it even easier to have dinner and still get back to the MK before the party starts.
’Ohana Welcome Bread – Each meal at 'Ohana starts with the welcome bread. The soft loaf of bread is tasty, but with so much other good stuff coming, we didn't each all of the break.
Mixed Greens with a Lilikoi Dressing - The salad is good and goes nicely with the heavier options on the menu.
Honey Coriander Chicken Wings and Pork Dumplings Tossed in a Garlic-Ginger Dressing - The wings are sticky (messy to eat), but tasty. The pork dumplings had a nice balance between the amount of filling and the wrapper (not too doughy). Both are very yummy.
Noodles - Tossed in a teriyaki sauce with fresh and stir fried vegetables – The noodles were okay, but nothing really outstanding and kind of bland.
Starters - The noodles, chicken wings, and dumplings are served together in one big dish!
Sweet-n-Sour Chicken, Szechuan Sirloin Steak, and Spicy Grilled Peel-n-Eat Shrimp - Prepared over an Oak fire, and served with Peanut and Sweet-n-Sour Sauces. All of the meats were good, but the Shrimp was our favorite (they aren't spicy at all).
Ice Cream – Figment isn't a fan of bread puddings, so he asked if he could just have the ice cream. Our "cousin" (i.e., the server) said that was fine and brought out a huge bowl of vanilla ice cream!
Raglan Road, Disney Springs (Dinner)
Figment's last visit to Disney Springs on this trip was a chance to return to an old favorite: Raglan Road. It was still really busy (Friday night!) and there was a pretty good wait for a table (luckily we had a reservation). We were seated in the main room, off to the side. We had an okay view of the main stage, but had some difficulty seeing the stage in the center of the room.
The Irish Show and Dancing - The Irish Dancing and bands are a fun part of the atmosphere at Raglan Road.
Irish Soda Bread – The meal starts with some Irish soda bread and oil for dipping. The bread is slightly sweet and god.
Dalkey Duo - Battered cocktail sausages with Dalkey mustard dipping sauce. Yum! The sausages were very good and there were a lot of them.
An Irish Egg - Guinness and Onion Sausage Crusted Egg, Pickled Cabbage, Saffron Aioli. The Irish Egg was very good.
Scallop Forest - Georges Bank scallops in a golden batter served with citrus lime dipping sauce and sweet chili jam. The scallops were tender inside and crispy on the outside. This is Figment's favorite appetizer at Raglan Road.
Fish & Chips - Our famous beer battered fish & chips with fresh tartar sauce. It's brought to the table in a inverted cone and then poured on the plate. The fish & chips was very good. Of the three he tried on this trip, Raglan Road's was the best.
Salmon of Knowledge - Baked Atlantic Salmon Filet Topped with Smoked Salmon, Leek and Mushroom Fondue Served with a Maple Glaze. It’ll Give You Brains to Burn. The salmon had excellent flavor.
It's Not Bleedin' Chowder! - That's What Master Chef said! It's the Freshest Cuts of Seafood and Potatoes in a White Wine Infused Cream Broth. But It's Not Chowder. Ok? The "not chowder" was very good, with lots of seafood and potatoes. The broth wasn't very heavy, but did have a slightly creaminess to it.
Cappuccino
Dunbrody Kiss – Chef Dundon’s Gift to America. Chocolate, add More Chocolate, Then Add Some More. This is Figment's favorite dessert in WDW! Chocolate! And more chocolate!
