Sorry!
Boma
I was really nervous about Boma. I almost changed it numerous times. However I really wanted to see AKL so I kept the reservation.
I didnt take to many photos.
One thing we didn't like was the watermelon rind salad. Too sweet. Everyone in my family enjoyed the seasoned vegetables (Im sure they had a clever name that I cant remember) but I nearly died they were so spicy. Even my mom who doesnt like spicy thing either thought they were great.
Neither my brother nor I enjoyed the sweet rice(Im sure theres a name for this too) anyway I believe it was yellowish and very sweet. Also most of the salads were a little to exotic for our tastes.
Heres what we enjoyed:
Seafood Gumbo- wow, this was amazing. Potato soup-very good.
I loved the spice chicken even more than the prime rib, which was also good. Mike & Lynn enjoyed the salmon, pork, vegetable, soups, bread, couscous & fufu. The potatoes with afritude were very good, and not to spicy for me!
A dessert plate-
I didn't have anything for dessert so I'm not sure what any of these things are. Sorry!
A treat! I wasnt really hungry for dessert so I didnt have anything. Then somehow I found a little more room when the chef came to our table to bring us a treat.
Deep fried Oreos!
He had been at our table earlier asking us if we liked our food. He told us you cant get these in Chicago! Wow. They were really good. Everyone gobbled them right up.
Later as the chef walked by we asked for a photo with him. He was happy oblige. (does anyone know his name)
We loved Boma and would certainly go back again. I am
so glad we tried this. It was a favorite of everyone and when we go back we will most definitely go back.
It was pouring rain on the way to AKL
The AKL was lovely!
