The cupboards here are getting bare, especially produce. I was out yesterday evening so made a pot of dirty rice with smoked sausage from what was available before I left, no veggies. Eating out would have been healthier!
If you have a small fridge or shop infrequently (but you hate canned/frozen produce), try to pick up some "long-lasting" produce when you shop, stuff you can slightly "overbuy" b/c it won't go bad (and if your shop gets delayed by life/finances, it will still be there). With it being fall, squashes, sweet potatoes/yams, carrots (not baby - they rot faster), apples, and clementines/oranges all fit this bill and could help tide you over from one shop to the next. They also have the advantage of being very cheap right now!
