Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

As Angi said, it's really hard to know what will be included in discounts. That said, availability can change during the discount offer. It's worth checking online frequently, and if you see what you're looking for, book it. I've had luck this way in the past.

They will have a fixed number of rooms at the discounted rate. We managed to change our Nov 2016 booking from WL to BC for £10 due to a lucky reduction in pricing :)

So we arrived home last night after ten awesome days at the BC. This being our first stay there we absolutely loved it! Before we arrived we informed the hotel that we would be needing room to accommodate two cribs for our 21 month old sons, we were told don't worry it's been taken care of. When we checked in we were given room 2456 which turned out to be a hospitality suite! While this room had no balcony we didn't mind because the room at a king size bed and was rather large. The only downfall to the room is that it's literally in the lobby, while convient for heading to the parks it was a little noisey starting at 5 am till well into the night.

I won't bore you with all the day by day details but it was a trip I won't forget. While my sons may be to young to remember it, I will not forget the memories made and the smiles on there face meeting all the different characters and the rides they enjoy.

So thank you to this board for all the information that helped make our stay that much better and I look forward to staying here again

Don't be too sure they won't remember! Our younger DD's first memories are of our annual trip to WDW when she was exactly the same age as your sons! She remembers having her silhouette done on Main Street, riding the monorail through the Contemporary and saying, "I want to sleep in this big house!" (It is still her favorite WDW resort 28 years later.) Tuck those memories away and wait to see if they have any also. I am glad your trip was so magical! :goodvibes

We will arrive at the BC in a few weeks and have a water view room reserved. We have stayed here in the past and always ended up with a view of the quiet pool. This time, we have added to our reservation the request for a full balcony and a view of the beach. Im considering subscribing to touring plans to fax our request as I have read on these boards good results. From the looks of it, if we want a beach view and full balcony, it will have to be the second floor as the fifth floor is all concierge..is this correct? We are also hoping for a daybed so our kids dont have to sleep together, but I dont want to ask for too many things.

Coming down from my YC high of last week, had a great stay as always so here is a mini-trip report.

Arrived 9/28 at ASSp for one night since I drove down and it didn't make sense to spend $ for that short of time at YC. Checked out at 7 am on 9/29 and over to YC and at checkin desk by about 7:30 am. They knew my room number but it wasn't ready yet, CM didn't give me the number but did show me the location on the map. I originally booked a standard view, somewhere in the 2 months after I booked it got upgraded to a garden view, at check in it got upgraded to a water view. It was room 2061, and my balcony had a beautiful view of the BW, king bed with the little mini-kitchenette area with a sink. I have pictures on my phone but have no idea how to get them posted so if our dear mod will give me an email address I can email them.

After check in, I went to the bus stop and headed over to MK for the day, waited maybe 6 min. for the bus and it wasn't crowded at pickup but I noticed throughout the trip by the time the buses reached BC most of those people had to stand. Around 3 I received a text to check with the front desk about my room, oh no. I monorailed it over to Epcot, got my AP voucher for the wine glass stamped, ate at a few booths, had a wine seminar and went back to the front desk. For some reason my MB wasn't connected to my room, I had no problems with it at ASSp and made it a point of going to the front desk to check out when I left but oh well. They fiddled with it for a few minutes and asked if they could walk me to my room and bring it up to me. No problem so I got an escort to my room and I hadn't even had a chance to take a few pictures before my MB was delivered. That was my one and only glitch the entire time I was there.

Spent my mornings at various parks and over to Epcot around noon every day where I spent every afternoon/evening grazing at F&W booths. While I did notice it was a little crowded I didn't think it was as bad as some people thought, I don't think I waited longer than 5 min. in any line. I had at least two seminars every day so it could have been a timing thing for me. Friday night on Oct. 2, which was my last night it was pretty packed and I left around 7:30 but had a full day and was tired and full anyway. I did manage to hit every booth for at least one item, not always food. Had express check out on Saturday, Oct. 3 which was no problem. I took my bag down to my car and hit HS and Epcot again before I left around 1 pm for home.

My room was fine, a little dated but no issues with anything at all. Everything worked, mouse keeping was fine, I actually put my DND sign on my door one day since I was solo and didn't really need anything done. I walked back and forth to Epcot, my room was right above the "secret" door at YC that is on the garden side where the wedding gazebo is. It didn't take me long to figure out where the door was from the gift shop to the garden area and then a quick walk to the outside door and one flight up to my room (via stairs). There was an elevator just a few doors down that let out at the laundry room (which I do not use). There are no vending machines on that floor so I did pop down to the laundry room for what I hoped was a bottle of water my first night but everything was sold out in the machine but regular coke, which I haven't had in about 20 years since I drink diet. I got it but seriously that one bottle ended up getting poured out when I left, I had maybe 3 sips out of it. I did hear a little hall noise but otherwise had no problems with noise.

Great trip as usual and can't wait until I'm back at the world either at Christmas or F&G.

I'm headed down in December for my first solo trip, am wondering how you liked traveling solo?

Thank you for the report, I'm looking forward to staying at YC for the first time!

Someone on another board mentioned that they just got a pin through the mail, so I sent DH a text telling him to check for it as soon as he got home. He reminded me that there was no mail today since it was Columbus Day, then added:
"Columbus hates Mickey..." :rotfl2:

LOL! You greatly under estimate our love for day by day details! :)

Nice to hear that your first stay at the BC was an awesome one.

Unfortunately, we have decided to stay at the Polynesian next April, because the YC will not be refurb'd or hopefully will be starting soon. Our next trip will be the YC! We love it there but will be going for some Beaches 'n' Cream on an Epcot day. I'm going to miss it, but since we have an opportunity to stay at Poly with a "magical" deal. I'm pretty excited seeing that people who love the Y&BC, love the Poly too. It makes me not so nervous to stay at another resort.

Thanks for letting us know.

Wishing you a fantastic trip!

:thumbsup2

We are staying at BCV and have a 9:30 breakfast reservation at the Garden Grill with Chip and Dale. Will we be allowed to go through the International Gateway and walk through World Showcase to Garden Grill? TIA

I don't have you on the Be Our Guest List. When is your trip?

:welcome:

Could you update us on the Be Our Guest list please? Our DVC wait list came through so we're now at Beach Club Villas from 12/12-26. Very happy not to be moving twice mid-stay!

Will do. Congrats!

:woohoo:

If I remember correctly (from Jan 2010), I think it's bathrooms/showers/changing rooms. We'll be there in a week in a studio.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for October.

:goodvibes

I second the thanks for the info!! Although I'm not sure if I am excited about it or not yet! We are booked in a garden view clubt room Dec 16- 19; no notice from YC about any upcoming resort work yet. I realize we won't be among the first notified as we are still 2 months away. So it might take them a few days/ week s to notify everyone. I just hope they don't close the floor while we're scheduled to be there. We have a split stay with Contemporary Resort from Dec 12-16. Our plans & adrs are set; I'm making our fastpass selections tomorrow night. We have lots of DS & Epcot plans those 3 nights we're scheduled to be at YC.

I did check the room availability on the WDW website just now-- they are still showing club level rooms available for my dates. This is the week before Christmas, so maybe they won't close the floor til after the holidays?? I can't imagine they would close down their most expensive rooms & make people move over the holidays. Anyway, I hope they wouldn't!

That's possible. Sounds like they will be working on the lounge for the next 2-3 months, so mid December. For the BC renovation, there was a window of time between when the newly refurbished lounge reopened and the 5th floor was closed for room renovations. It certainly would make sense for work to start back up after the first of the year. But that is only my opinion, not based on any info.

::yes::

so what to expect from refurb if we'll be at YC next month? not much disturbance, right?
we have a garden view and I *think* I want to request the ground floor, close to lobby but I've only stayed at BC before

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for November.

I would not expect any disruption for most of the YC rooms next month. Definitely not if you will be on the ground floor.

:thumbsup2

Natebenma - sent you two emails with pictures, I hit send too soon is why 2. They will be from lvs2dv.

Got them! The pictures are beautiful! When I get a chance I will post them here and on the view thread. Thanks!

Yah! If I remember correctly - BC took just under a year or so for just about all rooms to be rehabbed, no? Sooo, time will tell but YC or BC for last week of August 2016? We are total YC fans but were not happy with the condition of ALL our rooms last August and will jump ship to BC if necessary. Can't wait to watch the progress though. A good day!

Work on BC rooms (5th floor) started in October and finished in late August. The YC has slightly fewer rooms. I think a lot, but not all rooms should be done by next August based on how long the BC work took.

Just wanted to say :welcome: and offer to put you on the Be Our Guest list. November?

I don't really have any info about the touring plans fax other than what people have posted here.

There could be water view rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors with full balconies and a beach view.

:goodvibes

Looks like we're headed to the Beach Club for Food & Wine festival next September (17th -20th).

Just wanted to share my excitement about staying so close to EPCOT. Favorite park - hoping this will be our favorite hotel.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

The location of the BC is awesome, ESPECIALLY for F&W!

We are from Canada so we won't get our Magic Bands until check-in but we are suppose to receive our luggage tags and booklet before our arrival date.

I just heard back from our TA who said she mailed the tags and booklets out to us from the States this past week. Since we check in on Friday, I'm thinking that with having Canada's Thanksgiving this weekend with no mail delivery on Monday, they may not arrive in time for the six of us. Can anyone tell me how far in advance Disney mails these out to visitors or TA's. I can't seem to remember how long before our trips did they arrive and now I'm wondering if our TA might have sat on these for awhile. I will be so disappointed if they don't arrive in time because four of our members have never been to Disney and I wanted them to experience all that Disney has to offer.

Thank you for any help!!!

I just booked for March through the Disney website and there was a notation saying our magic bands would be shipped out to us (we are north of Toronto). This is a change since our trip last March. Hope you have an amazing time in the World!

Although I'd love to think that Magic bands will be shipped to Canada, I think the website is just using a default setting when it said your bands will be shipped to you. I'd still bet Canadian bands will be shipped to your hotel. Our bands were shipped to the hotel last week.

Thank you for the report, I'm looking forward to staying at YC for the first time!

I love it, this was my third solo trip. I usually travel with my adult son and his wife (soon to be ex) but he couldn't get off school to go with me. I love being at BC/YC since I can just walk over to Epcot, grab something to eat and walk back to my room.

It is time for the single digit dance. :dancer::dancer::dancer:Nine days before we check into the BC and join our "other " daughter, son-in-law, grandson and granddaughter at the BC. They are very excited to be staying at this resort. They've stayed at the WL for the last three trips because of the convenience of the boat to MK and Roaring Forks. But now our daughter is ready to return home to the resort she grew up at. :goodvibes

Just wanted to share my excitement about staying so close to EPCOT. Favorite park - hoping this will be our favorite hotel.
Did they announce the dates for next year? This year the event didn't start until the 25th.

Just booked my air fare this morning, so it's a done deal, will be doing my first solo trip in December! I've never stayed at any of the EPCOT resorts before, I'm looking forward to seeing what YC is like! I booked my room back in July since Disney was nice enough to send me a PIN for a room discount.

Question, did I read that they have started renovating the rooms at YC? I hope that doesn't make for a noisy stay.

Just returned from a short 3 night YC stay. We went to only visit Epcot for F&WF. Upon our arrival we were surprised with a little pixie dust, an upgrade from a CL Woods view to a 2 bedroom suite. It was amazing!! We also enjoyed being able to have our last morning CL breakfast in the Presidential Suite.

I'm sure it's been asked ad nauseam but I don't know where to look and I'm a little bit lazy about searching through old posts. Can I get a microwave and fridge in my standard view BC room? I'm going in December and haven't made any requests. Is it by request and how much extra is it if it is available?
