It's already linked but I thought we still had to pick up the tickets anyway? It's automatically linked it when I bought them. I can always ask at the desk I guess. Otherwise I also read we cans just get our tickets/bands at Magic Kingdom on the day while we're in the park a little before the party starts, so that would be great

No you do not have to pick up the actual ticket if you do not want them as a souvenir. The ticket is just a plastic card with a character on it. Yes you will have to get the band they give out after scanning your MB confirming you purchased MNSSHP tickets. This band keeps you from getting escorted out of the park. The band and the ticket are two different things. The bands are usually handed out at the gate or if you are already in the park a CM will be in the hub around the entrance to tomorrow land and the bridge to liberty square.

Anyone know if a pack and play will fit in the bathroom in the area under the hangers?

I'm thinking we will put the play pen in that area so it's out of the way in the middle of room and the privacy curtain will allow us to put DS down for the night without us distracting him in the main portion of the room.

And, I was wondering why PORFQ doesn't have any room discounts at all over Thanksgiving when the other resorts do? Nothing - no FL resident, no AP.....

My understanding is that discounts are only done for resorts that they want to fill up...due to size and popularity of POFQ, they usually don't have problems filling rooms, so they don't need to include it in the special offers.

If you have opted for direct-to-room check-in they may notify you of your room a little ahead of your arrival time, if it is ready. But you won't be given a room number until it has been vacated by the previous guest and cleaned.

We got a text last year on the ME bus pulling onto Disney property. We do online but have no special requests and as long as the room is in the category we booked we are happy.
We note that room ready sooner is more of a priority than other options (Corner room and upper floors for us).

The POR and POFQ room layouts and sizes are identical, just the decor changes.

Two more days till our first stay on property! So excited! I hope we can get a quieter room, so away from elevator and upper floor, as I'm super sensitive to noise.
I read a few reports about rooms not being properly clean. Are people still making these experiences? I've got a dust allergy and that really would put a damper on things ...

Request a specially deep-cleaned room for allergies, that should put your mind at rest. You need to do that in advance though.

I am counting down the days (FOURTEEN!) until I leave for WDW and my favorite moderate resort, POFQ. This is a solo trip that overlaps with a couple of friends. The main reason I am excited is that it is my first trip completely alone since my husband's stroke a little over 5 years ago (right after we got home from our last stay together at POFQ). I don't care about the food court issue, I just need the quiet peacefulness of the French Quarter. He is all for this trip which delights me to no end.

And, we are going back together in the middle of December for a long weekend trip also at POFQ. We used to stay there every year for Christmas when our children were little. And now that they are in their 30s and off on their own they requested a return this year. They also want me to take our French Quarter themed Christmas trees and wreaths! Have to find them in the next few months.

They rarely have discounts at FQ. I was shocked that it was included in the AP discount in August

Though for the days around Thanksgiving no resort is discounted. 11/22 to 25 or 26 is full price pretty much everywhere

I'm guessing due to the refub that will be going on at POP during that time. So occasionally there are some discounts offered. Though they did end up getting more out of us for those 2 nights.

You're lucky. We were also booked at POP and just switched it to PORFQ. But, we didn't get an offer to switch, we just decided to.

Any hoo, I just updated my signature to show PORFQ - I'm excited! Our dates are Nov 22 - Nov 25.
