Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

Hmm. On my thread on the Theme Park board a Diser who is also a cast member replied that they have Bell assistance but not the people who will unload the vehicles (believe its a different group/contract) that does that. So I want to confirm if someone has had their car unloaded at the front, for a tip of course.

Sorry to be a pain. I just want to clarify.

I saw people pulling up to the front lobby and people there helping them unload their cars. I also saw people in the parking lots with luggage carts helping guest as well. You can also call to verify.

Thanks so much everyone! I didn't mean to sound skeptical about the answer I got it was more my confusion. This has been a great help as I'm working hard to convince DH he won't be a burden. Thanks guys!

Has any one either made or found a TR from someone who has stayed at AoA for a few days or more?
not a traditional TR, but I have a blog about our family and I posted about our trip and AoA there (we were in the LM section for 6 nights in October):

We will be in one of the suites on Dec 8 but its lucky draw. When we booked it didnt guarantee us a certain location/suite type. Anyone else do this?

What was your experience with what you received?

I got an invitation to use magic+, or whatever it's called, in the mail today.

Should I sign up for it? And.. Do we get to keep the bands after?

Everyone at Disney resorts get them now invitation or not. If you don't customize them now, you will get them at check in anyways.

Yes, you get to keep them. :goodvibes

Thank you so much for sharing...I enjoyed reading ALL about your families' vacation...2 questions: How did you decided which ride and what time to use FP+ on? and Where did you get that adorable pool cover up the baby was wearing? I want one ;)

Thank you! My mom actually found the pool cover up at a baby consignment sale! So I can't be of any help to tell you where it's from :( I was obsessed with it though, can't wait to break it out this summer.

for the FP+, i read these boards (the theme parks attractions & strategies board) to find out which ones seemed like they would be the best use of a FP+. there were many helpful suggestions on that board!

89 days until our trip! First half at POFQ, second at AoA Cars. Can not wait!

I was checking out Touring plans' hotel maps and of course it doesn't seem they've completed the Cars section. Did anyone have rooms they really liked or really hated?

I was looking at building 3, river view.

Standard room in Little Mermaid wing this coming January. I'm rather partial to LM, as taking a gal to that movie was the best date i ever had (she LOVED it!).

Here I am, spending my Thanksgiving morning plotting out my vacation--better than any Macy's parade. Perusing this thread, it seems the food court is better than expected.

I just wonder, is there a water taxi to any park? Looking at the map on page one, it would seem to make sense.

No water taxi.

Hourglass Lake separates AofA from Pop (there is a bridge in the middle to cross) but you can actually walk around the perimeter of the lake.

We found bus service to be excellent at both AofA and Pop. :)

Why the bridge to Pop Century? is there anything else on that side?

I could be wrong, but I believe that the reason for the bridge was that originally AoA was supposed to be an extension of Pop Century. When they decided to make it its own resort they left the bridge connecting two resorts.

Originally the buildings use for Art of Animation recording to be the second half of Pop Century. We were there on vacation after September 11th and you could see the buildings being built and it basically been abandoned that's the kind of sad. Once it inspected again they decided to start construction again but they had the idea for the suites instead

The bridge is located in the centre of the two resorts. You wouldn't want to have to walk around the perimeter just to eat at the Pop food court. Now it's only a five to ten minute walk from food court to food court over the bridge.

Why the bridge to Pop Century? is there anything else on that side?

I'd say it's the other way around -- the bridge is to Art of Animation. :)

Th bridge was built and completed as part of the overall Pop Century resort. It was originally in place to connect to the second half of Pop Century, the Legendary Years 1910-1940, which started construction and was stopped.

When Disney decided it was time to redevelop the second phase of Pop Century, they developed the Art of Animation idea instead.

Hi All,

I'm trying to get your valuable opinions please.
My wife, two girls (9 and 6) and myself are booked to be at the Port Orleans Riverside Resort in May 2014 for 14 nights.

My wife and myself are having concerns that the POR resort may not feel like "Disney" for the girls..
We stayed last year at the Movies resort and we all absolutely loved it.. we loved the ability to sit around the pool to eat or breakfast, we had a great room location, just 2 mins from the main building. Food was good and we didn't have any major issues at all.
With this is mind, we booked again for 2014 but this time I picked a resort that I thought might be an upgrade.
It's only now we are having a few concerns if we booked the right hotel. I love the idea of the AoA suites to give us more space and different sleeping areas.

What do you guys think?????

Stay at the Port Orleans Riverside (Preferred room location paid for)

Stay in AoA suite

Would love your inputs.
