I don’t know why anyone wants to be coming in for one night only unless you are coming in for a cruise or something. Too each their own

We don't use it for one night, rather as a add on at beginning or end of a trip if our schedules change.

For people like me who love to add days on the beginning/end last minute 😀

That's us! Sometimes our schedules change last minute and so we will add on a night at the beginning if it works out.

Maybe testing means that a reopen isn't too far off. I mean if they can test it, wouldn't that mean the construction is to a point that it can run the whole route? I'm sure I'm just being hopeful. We are going in early January and I'd love a chance to ride the train. In all our trips, we've never ridden it, I'm ashamed to admit. :o

Opening Day Prices for Individual Lightning Lanes at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Park

Disney California Adventure

Sorry to be so negative but the ILL costs disgust me. For some reason paying to ride a single ride is so much more offensive to me than buying maxpass/ Genie+ for the day. Not sure why….
Glad it works for some people though:)

It's the fact that $40 per person to do Genie+ and ROR at Disneyland, for only 10 attractions

Yes, the $20 for Genie+ gives access to attractions at both DL and DCA, also includes the PhotoPass much like what MaxPass used to be.

Also the system still operates similar to MaxPass where you can’t make a LL selection until you are in the parks.

It gives access IF one has a Park Hopper ticket. Otherwise, I do see where the value is diminished.

I agree. Disney finally broke me. I'll be there for the marathon and a DVC stay I already had reserved, but not doing any parks on either of those stays.

Ring In the New Year at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

Disney’s Contemporary hotel will host a special event called A Golden New Year’s Eve in Wine Country up at California Grill! The Napa Room of the restaurant will be transformed into an eclectic speakeasy and will feature a slight-of-hand magician performing while you sip on wine and custom crafted cocktails.

Over in the Sonoma Room, you can see Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Baby New Year Donald! There will also be a DJ and a roaming violinist playing at the event. Between the 2 rooms, you’ll find 50th Anniversary food stations which will have food that honors the legacy of California Grill chefs. Take a trip down memory lane as you dine on some favorite offerings from the last 50 years. Here’s a look at some of the menu highlights:

  • Chilled Appetizer Station
  • Chilled Seafood Bar
  • Caviar Station with Potato Blinis
  • Smoked Beef Tartare
  • Chilled Golden and Candycane Beet Salad
  • Wood Burning Station
  • Perigord Black Winter Pizza
  • Duck Char Sui Bao
  • Sushi Station
  • An array of maki, sashimi, nigiri and a collection of original sushi creations
  • Hot Seafood Station
  • Lobster Ravioli
  • Plancha Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops
  • Seared Ahi Tuna
  • From the Grill and Rotisserie
  • Grilled Porcelet
  • Oak Fire-grilled Beef Tenderloin with Truffle Sauce
  • Rohan Duck Breast 2 Ways
  • Sweet Treats from our Disney’s Contemporary Resort Pastry Chefs
  • 5 Magical Bites – 50 Years in the Making
  • Banana Butterscotch Buzz
  • Valrhona Molten Lava Cake
  • Florida Citrus Cream Puffs

The event takes place on December 31st, 2021. Check-in starts at 7PM and the event goes from 7:30PM to 12:30AM. To make a reservation, you can call (407) 824-2013. The cost of the event is $700, including tax and gratuity, with full payment due at the time of booking. Cancellations must be received at least one day prior to event to avoid being charged full price.
$700 PER PERSON? LOL!!! Where's the "Poor People Party"?

I thought the $30 for Genie+ is for both DL and DCA?
Yeah, I sometimes forget how close DCA and DL are (and that it includes photopass), it's still only 18 attractions with LLs at the whole resort, 3 of them being ILLs, so it is $54 per person with Rise, WEB slingers and Radiator Racers

Honestly though, I'm glad they didn't put every attraction on LL like WDW did with FP+ (with few exceptions). Some of those rides just aren't setup for it, like the Fantasyland dark rides. I do see where it seems like diminished value though, especially if not hopping. I can't imagine doing DLR without a hopper though.

It's the same price as max pass. The only loss is the 3 attractions you can choose to pay separately from. Or go standby since rsr often ran out of fp anyway and still has single rider. So to me it really only changes web slingers and rotr.
