DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

I am somewhere in the area of 13 pages behind here. B\c I actually harbor some OCD tendencies, I will actually go back and read them all. I apologize now for what will appear to be random replies.

...I mentioned your name to the overlords and they said... Shawn who?
Stay well, heal quick, prayers for no chemo.

Thanks, I get the same response from my overlords.

I'd happily drag myself out of bed for an early flight to MCO.
Probably wouldn't even notice that my head and eyes ached then...

::yes::

Morning Guys, still lots of snow up here but we are starting to get in to the warm days, cold night cycle. That's good for melting, managing potential spring floods and maple syrup...

Nothing like real maple syrup on vanilla ice cream :thumbsup2

...Separate note, one of my team members and close friends (we have worked together for the better part of 28 years now) parents were in a major car accident last week. They will survive, but are going to need assisted care for the rest of their lives. They are 82 & 85 so if ya get the chance send out positive thoughts or a prayer or tow for them - much appreciated...

Done.

Well for right now my last day is March 31st and I have a 3:55 pm flight to MCO and a date waiting for me at Magic Kingdom. After that, it's in Gods hands.

Best place for it.

Does Jodi know you have a date waiting for you at MK?

:lmao:

Why yes, yes she does and she is the one encouraging it.

I too go back and read everything. It's my job! And after the 31st, it's my only job. Maybe I need to renegotiate my pay?

That's a good wife you got there Randall.

I'm about to hire; know anything about physical literacy, working in Canada and any ability to work in English and French?

Thank you Darcy! And I know nothing about physical literacy, working in Canada and any ability to work in English and French, but I stayed at a Holiday Express last night so I'm go to go! :thumbsup2

Take a look at the casino that opened up near you. They're always hiring.

Unfortunate...
I've got time, request granted.

I do believe that random cra... I'm mean... random replies are among the higher purposes of this entire exercise.

Thanks, I get the same response from my overlords.

Being invisible can have its advantages as well.

That sick of ya' huh?

As for your compensation for looking after the clubhouse...
I suspect we could see our way clear to flat out double your current share of all the dues we're takin' in.

Cool! I'll have to see if I've got any old images worth adding to the colection.

Welcome sir!
Drag a lawnchair over here by the bonfire and join on in the conversation.

If you're a Dis papaw, then by definition you also a DisDad.
My young'en is grown as well, I just don't have the grand kids yet.
I do believe you'll fit in just fine round here

It's a moot point now so post pad all you want. Under the new design of the boards...
there's no longer any way to track individual post counts per thread.

Good Morning Men! It's a sunny Monday and it was over 10 degrees she I got up today. Not too bad! I think Elsa has finally gotten hug and decided to take a few days off. May hit 50 here by Wednesday....

DS tweaked his knee at baseball practice last night and can barely walk. Hoping it's just a sprain and nothing serious. Home from school and going to the doctor today.

I think CJ cancelled it finally, that's why they closed doors.

Congrats to your DD's successful basketball campaign. Get ready to go through the NCAA eligibility process. Seton Hall's women's team is doing well and is in the Big East final. Just saying. Hope son's tweak heals quickly.

Think Brady is peeing his pants a little bit with the Phins signing Suh?

Its going on around here too. The white stuff is evaporating and there's brown stuff underneath.

It would be a great time to move the RV's down here, weather is georgeous this week.

That's a good wife you got there Randall.

I'm about to hire; know anything about physical literacy, working in Canada and any ability to work in English and French?

While many of you married up, no one is luckier than Randall, and he knows it.

Good afternoon guys.

Thanks for the happy thoughts guys. Looks like the hammer missed. There might be a bit extra Jameson in my coffee tonight.

Glad it worked out. Nice to get some good news around here.

?

That is scary stuff. Prayers for them and your friend.

Absolutely. Double it.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail 795 of them to me, and them I mail to everyone else. I wouldn't knock Jacksonville - most of us are still digging out of the snow and would gladly trade locations.

Thanks for the happy thoughts guys. Looks like the hammer missed. There might be a bit extra Jameson in my coffee tonight.

Why add coffee?

C'mon stats. Don't give up on me.

.

Be careful what you wish for. If I had the green light, I'd be down there tomorrow mooching.

For those of you that haven't seen it. Here is the tag line under the title of our DIS Dads forum:

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
What about bacon? And beer?

Looks like the hammer dropped today. The governor is proposing new health plans for state employees starting in the next fiscal year. Naturally, our premiums are increasing, co-pays are increasing, and now we'll have deductibles for the first time ever. So it's basically turning into a private-sector health plan, without the corresponding private sector pay. Sigh.
Yeah, healthcare sucks everywhere. We now use HSA's and I think that they actually make sense. They make you do comparison shopping. My MRI cost $486 but if I had gotten it done at the hospital where my surgeon was based, it would have cost around $1200.

I'm sure you would, your standards are pretty low, you even let me join.
What are standards?

The Pirate Princess arrived last night after a 45 minute delay at Newark. The kid is getting older. I asked her if she wanted something at the house when she got here and she answered wine and cheese. It was a tough week for her I guess.
Mine are only 7 & 10 and I am shaking my head already at how quickly they are growing. Yours seems to have turned out pretty well.

Well for right now my last day is March 31st and I have a 3:55 pm flight to MCO and a date waiting for me at Magic Kingdom. After that, it's in Gods hands.
There's worse ways to deal with layoffs. I hope the end of this chapter turns out to be the beginning of a new and grand adventure.

Why yes, yes she does and she is the one encouraging it.
Does this have anything to do with you googling Disney princesses and 50 shades?

OK, I've been active in the many facets of DISDad online communities but have strayed from this neck of the interwebs for a few weeks. It feels good to be back!
  • I was able to ski for a 2nd time this past weekend without any negative impact to my surgically repaired knee.
  • I tried ice skating for the first time this Sunday (at the young age of 40) I regret it but know that I will be out as soon as the local rink is ready next year. I don't like being upstaged by 4 year old children. I will never forget the 8 year old girl that asked if I was okay when I thought I was good to leave the wall and completely wiped out. She had the decency to make sure that I was okay before openly laughing at me. It restored what little faith I had for the future of our world.
  • It was amusing reading from about page 104 to present looking at how bad the weather was and seeing that it was hovering in the upper 40s around here in Western PA today.
  • It was not amusing to see the many trials\tribulations some of the dads and loved ones are dealing with. Prayers to those in need.
  • @cj9200 we have openly mocked you b\c you live in FL and are on the doorstep of WDW. You have continually denied that it is as glorous as we all think and have cited some of the craziness that exists in FL. I thought you were full of it. But one of the radio stations that I flip to whenever there is a commercial on the sports talk station, has a special segment that they do weekly called "Another Florida Story". It always has a bizarre news story from your state. You gained SOME credibiity. Although I'd gladly mooch off of you along with @AirGoofy
  • Today marked the 7 month mark for DVC booking. Just nailed down VWL. First time staying there and we are planning on doing MNSSHP again.
  • Anyone going to be in da World October 10th-17th?
