Day 3, December 16, 2000 – I’m Soaked!
Mickey wakes us around 7:30am. I get the coffee going and we get ready…off to AK. First is breakfast at AK. I had a $25.00 GC from MyPoints.com so it was pretty cheap. The breakfast was ok. Cindy’s was much better. Finally we head into the park. This is one of our favorite parks. First thing we do is Tough to be a Bug. Did you know they changed the entrance? After walking to where is used to be we were told it is now near the exit. We finally get there and walk right in. I love hearing people who have never seen this show. The best was at the end when they ask you to wait for the bugs to exit. Well, AAA stands up and the girl next to him is looking at him like what is he doing? Next thing we know she’s screaming! Very funny. From there we headed off to the Safari. Not too many animals, also the bridge that breaks didn’t break. AAA now wants to go to the River Rapids. On the way we stop and AAA plays the bongos in Harambe. We finally get to the ride. No line. We take our shoes and socks off and get right on. Well, guess who gets SOAKED?!!!! Me! And I’m wearing denim shorts no less. AAA & Daddy also got wet, but not as bad as me. My brilliant child then says…let’s go to the hotel and go in the pool. Good call, time to get out of these things. So we had a short but memorable visit to AK.

We headed back to the room to get changed. Now since CS is so huge we decided to drive over to the pool, even then it was quite a walk. The pool was very nice. AAA loved the slide. However, I was disappointed with the play area. It was restricted to under 42” and 2-6 yrs. Although, other parents were letting their kids play there I did not for fear of AAA running over a smaller child. However, I did not understand the need for the restrictions. But mine is not to reason why… We had lunch at the snack bar by the pool. It was ok. Nothing fabulous. After about an hour we headed back to the room to relax.

Around 3:30pm we started to head to Epcot. This time we did not make the AAA diamond lot mistake. Our first stop was Spaceship Earth we then headed into the Global Communications area and took a digital photo and called my parents on the big phone. From here we headed to Test Track to get Fast Pass. The timing was perfect, well after the 6:45 Candlelight Processional. From there we walked around, stopped at the Coca Cola Cool Down area. Then we sat down for a while and watched the ? in Bronze. I can’t remember the name of the band but the music was amazing. AAA was enthralled with the bells. From there we headed off to San Angel for our 5pm ressie. I couldn’t get over the line for ressies. I finally got to the head of the line and gave the hostess our voucher for dinner (that was a mistake). We were seated next to a very nice family. AAA and the two girls started chatting and we talked to the parents. It was very nice. Dinner was very good, but the service was slow. I don’t think we’ll eat there again. There was just something about it that I didn’t care for. Our check came with no credit. I told the waiter who did not understand and brought over the manager. He was not very nice. I showed him my receipt for seating admission and the receipt for my records. He kept insisting I needed to give them to him. I told him no I gave the voucher to the hostess who sat us. We couldn’t remember who it was. Finally he asked to take a copy of our receipt. This settled everything. However, we never got to have dessert since the service was so slow. So we missed out on that. We made it out of there just before TON was starting. Finally made it to the line for CP entry just as TON started and they were letting people into CP. We got very good seats, center, 2nd tier back. I would definitely do this package again. The line for standby was ridiculous.

Candlelight Processional is amazing. I just can’t describe it. The music of the orchestra, the Voices of Liberty, the high school and CM chorus we just beautiful. Coupled with Felicia Rashad’s narration, the doves and snow you couldn’t ask for a more gripping performance. And once again AAA fell asleep! LOL We finally woke AAA and headed for our Fast Pass time. The crowds heading toward China we horrible so we back tracked and grabbed the boat by Morocco. This was a great plan. We came off the boat and passed through the lighted archways. We stopped to admire the tree that was now lit and headed to Test Track. I think we waited in the FP line for maybe 10 min and had another wonderful TT ride. We just love it. It was now time to head back and pack for our trip home on Sunday…or so we thought!

I think the band is Cast in Bronze.
