So! How was your Christmas?

Busy at first and then very Sloth like.

Shall I tell you about mine?

I can honestly say that I don't remember
ever being so tired,
as I was in the days leading up to
and immediately following Christmas.

December 25.
I really don't feel good.

Oh that's rotten! Never fun to be sick on Christmas!

I back the car up the foot available to me.
Put the car back in gear....


And take off!!!!!

And come to a dead stop.... six or seven feet later.

I've shoveled up to the point where I took the photo.

Nope Nope nope nope! You know, We've got a "Winter Weather Event" coming in tomorrow night. The whole state is talking about it. All the Grocery Stores are out of Bread, Milk and Eggs. (BTW I'm curious is the bread and milk thing just a southern prep for snow thing or do you northerners stock up on that too when snow comes in?) We're predicted to get SOmewhere between a Dusting-7" of Snow. I've prepped for 7" but setting my expectations to a barely there dusting. {No I'm really not kidding or exaggerating. There really is a Winter Weather Warning out and everyone is freaking over an 1" of snow. }

They had plowed down each aisle of the parking lot.
Leaving a three foot high ridge of snow
behind my car.

I'll stick with my 7" gets mentioned as a possibility and everything shuts down thanks!

2017 can't come soon enough...

She handed me a few.

While we ride trucks, they ride the animals."
And she said it in such a deadpan,
that a woman behind me said "Really?"

What did you do to that couple to make them look at you like that?!?

I'd never heard before, nor expected to ever hear,
a lion roaring.
But the male in the picture above was doing just that.

"Harold, I need you to go to the store and pick up some milk.
And maybe those nice crackers I like.
Remember the Hendersons are coming over tonight
and I don't want a repeat of last time when you ate one of their children.
Now go on, scoot."

surprised by it.
Pleasantly so.
I had absolutely zero expectations going in.
And I found myself enjoying it quite a bit.

At one point, a man with wife and child in tow
came up and asked me what the best way
to get to the exit was.
I politely pointed to the Wildlife Express Train
and told them to take that.

Now that's just mean!.... Funny. But Mean. And really anyone that stupid deserves the hard lesson there.

Wow! so sorry you had such a hard time with the snow the other day. We get crazy snow like that around here. Last year we got stuck pulling out of the driveway and my DH had to dig us out of about 8 inches of snow but at least it was fairly quick.

How awesome that you got to see the lions up and around!! I never see them when I go on, we even went on a really early one the last trip we went on.

In the south that's about an 1" away from "SNOWMAGEDEN!2017" That being said, its not the snow itself that's the issue, its that we get tons of Ice with it. Its the Ice thats dangerous and a problem and generally lingers.

Not entirely. Disney Provides maps in all languages and all formats if you never bothered to learn the vital skill of map reading then that's on you.

You poor deer! You needed some homemade soup that someone else makes for you and a warm electric blanket.

And then it got tiring.

But I have come prepared!
I'm wearing my big knee high snow boots,
I have my coat on, gloves and a tuque.
I also have a shovel and some sand.

You are one dedicated employee. I hope that company gives you a raise for your dedication. There is no way I would have done that. Who would even think to bring a shovel with them to work. I guess only those who live in a snowy town!

You know, my dad and DH were chosen a ton too. I was only chosen once and had the kids at the time while Jason went through the bag check. I remember thinking of all times for me to go through extra security you do it when I'm alone with five kids! I definitely think they felt bad as I was juggling who gets to hold who's hand as they made me go through the metal detector and my 2 year old wouldn't let me put him down. I may have even blocked their screening line for a few minutes.

Going early definitely paid off!

We were fortunate enough once to experience this and be able to stop our vehicle right in front of him as he roared--truly amazing.

I have a few shout outs to do,

As many of you know,
I'm taking Kay to California
for her sweet 16 birthday.

So, consequently, this trip
is all about her, and her wants.


I've said all along that
Disneyland was low on my list.
And it is.

I'm going there because
she wants to.

I do a lot for my girls.
Which is what a father is supposed to do.
And one thing I will not do,
is impose my will on her present.


Yes, there are exceptions.
She actually wanted to go to Japan.

Not going to happen.

There are other things
that she wants.
Well, as any parent knows,
you can't always give what
your child wants.
For various reasons.


Which brings me to...


DISmeets.

When I travel solo,
I enjoy and encourage DISmeets.
I want to meet all of you!

But....
I'm not traveling solo.

Kay does not enjoy meeting strangers.
In fact, she is very uncomfortable with it.


She knows that I have friends who've
wanted to meet me for a while now.
She gets that.
And she's said she was okay with it.

But....

A small get together is okay.... once.

I'm a. Not going to impose more than one meet on her. And;
b. not going to thrust her into a large group setting either.


So... While I will be meeting a few DISers....
I unfortunately won't be able to meet more.


I don't know if there are any others out there
who may have thought
"Hmmm... pkondz will be in Disney in March? I can do that!"
But if you did or are... sorry. My docket's full.

I get the dishes loaded in the dishwasher,
the good crystal and silver hand washed and dried,
the turkey bones in a pot and simmering for soup.

I can't believe that you do all that! When I make a turkey, once we're done with what we're eating for the night, it goes in a 3 gallon ziplock bag and straight into the fridge. I'm lucky if I even clean it the next day and half the time I don't even make soup with the bones.

My neighbour, the one who made the ruts,
has an SUV. With more clearance.

I think you need an SUV too!

I shovel a bit, drive a bit, stop,
shovel some more, stop, repeat...

For two hours.
Did I mention I shoveled for two hours?

I say that's just crazy! Why don't you want a snow blower?

December 27.
I was sick and now sleep deprived.
Since December 23, I had about 3 hours of sleep.

I can't function now if I don't get 8 hours of sleep somewhere with the 24 hour period. Even if I do wake up in the middle of the night, it either happens a little later in the night or in the afternoon. And even if I don't mean for it to happen, it still does. I wonder if that's considered narcolepsy?

Why did I pick the Safari and not EE?

Because EE has a single rider line,
and I wanted to do the Safari this trip.
(I don't always.)

Huh. I always do the safari, but then that's another ride Fran will go on. She likes it, plus they have a handicapped loading area where you can take your time boarding.

I didn't take that many photos on the safari.
Most of the ones I did, were average at best.
I'll spare you those.

Well then, you can look at all mine when I post my next real update for my TR!

It's been so long since they have shown that show at DCA I can't remember a lot about it. They use that theater now for previews of upcoming attractions.

I can't believe that you do all that! When I make a turkey, once we're done with what we're eating for the night, it goes in a 3 gallon ziplock bag and straight into the fridge. I'm lucky if I even clean it the next day and half the time I don't even make soup with the bones.

If I didn't make soup, I'd have a riot
(in the shape of a sixteen year old girl)
on my hands.

I like to get everything out of the way
so I don't have to deal with it
in the morning.

Well, I have to make the soup,
but that's easy from that point on.

I prefer HUVs.
Shelties are too small.

I can't function now if I don't get 8 hours of sleep somewhere with the 24 hour period. Even if I do wake up in the middle of the night, it either happens a little later in the night or in the afternoon. And even if I don't mean for it to happen, it still does. I wonder if that's considered narcolepsy?

This is hour one of sixteen at work today.
I've worked every day this year
(except for Friday when I had my Gastroscopy)
and won't get a day off until the 13th
(3 days off!.... but I'll probably work them)
and then my next day off doesn't come
until January 29th.



So... sure. Totally recovered.
Let's go with that.

Huh. I always do the safari, but then that's another ride Fran will go on. She likes it, plus they have a handicapped loading area where you can take your time boarding.

That's what we always say, but have only actually done it once. However due to loading in the Handicapped area, we are never on the first safari because they have to fill up the vehicle before we can leave.
