maybe complicated question about upgrading a MYW ticket . . .

I'm traveling to Disney this August during the free dining promotion. We booked this trip as a Bounce-Back when we were there this past August.

For this trip, we are bringing along my mother and my aunt. We will be staying in 2 rooms (DH, me and 2 boys in one room, my mom & aunt in the other).

When we booked the rooms the person helping me make the reservation explained that we would have to book one room under my name, and one under my husband's in order to get the free dining promotion (as the "bounce back" could only be booked to guests actually staying there at the time of booking). So although our sleeping arrangements will be as I described above, the actual room bookings are for me, my mom and the 2 boys in one room, and my husband and aunt in the other.

Here's the problem. We are staying 9 days. My mom & aunt are only staying 5 days (I tried to convince them to stay the whole 9, but they didn't want to). Since my husband is booked in the room with the shorter stay, he will only have park tickets for 5 days, while my 2 sons and myself will have them for the full 9. Meanwhile, my mom will have park tickets for 9 days, even though she's only staying 5. We will have the same problem with our dining credits.

I don't think the dining credits will be a big problem, because my mom & aunt can just use my aunt's KTTW card for all of their meals, and DH & I can always use my KTTW card.

But what's the best way to handle the park ticket thing? Can I just buy the extra days for DH and add them to his KTTW card? Is this even possible, since I imagine his KTTW card will become invalid once he & my aunt check out of the room he's "booked" in.

I think adding additional park admission days to a KTTW is way cheaper than starting fresh with a new card, right? So I'd like to avoid having to spend a couple hundred on something I could otherwise get for $30 or so. (Especially since I'm re-buying something I've already paid for -- just for the wrong person!)

I guess another option would be for DH to just use my mom's KTTW card after she leaves with my aunt. But I'd hate for someone to notice that he's using a card with a woman's name and think he was using a stolen card or something.

Does anyone have any advice about the best course of action? The reservation specialist made it sound so easy, but it's starting to sound very complicated to me . . .

oops -- sorry about my weird thread title. I was trying to have it appear in bold, but I obviously didn't do it right!

uh oh -- and I'm also sorry for probably posting this in the wrong place. I'm new and apparently very confused-- please don't hate me!

When you check in you should be able to change the room arrangements at that time. That way everyone will have the appropriate rooms and tickets etc. It was just the booking thing to offer the bounce back, but this can be corrected at checkin. Have a great trip. I did this last year and no problems.:goodvibes

I would think if you can't get it changed at check in, you could get your DH and mothers park tickets as paper tickets. Just have your DH use the 9 day one and your mom the 5 day one.

Hotel concierge can have your DH and mom’s tickets put on a separate media and then switch before either uses the ticket. No problem there.

The bigger problem would be the dining credits, but as you said you could use your card and your aunt could use her card for the proper credits. The other problem would be lack of the KTTW card after day 5. Your DH will not have EMH access, or charging privileges. If anyone check’s closely, you could be in big trouble. However, they usually don’t.

I’d definitely switch people around in the rooms at check-in, if it’s possible without losing free dining. I think that would all depend on the CM at the front desk. Keep trying if they tell you no through the trip when different people are at the front desk.

Order everybody's park admission for five days. After you get there, or even on the sixth day of everyone still there, add more days to individual persons' admission/KTTK cards as needed.

The park admission on your room key (KTTK card) will not expire on check out day per se. (Admission expires 14 days from first park usage if you did not add non-expiration; otherwise it expires when you die.)

If one person goes home, no one else may use his park admission. Admission tickets are not transferable although someone else may use the card to open a room door if that room has not been checked out of or to pay for meals if any credits remain.

Thank you all guys!

I love being able to know the answers to my questions 8 months before taking my trip. This board is so cool!
