Thank you so much for the feedback. We really liked GG in 2014, but went back a year later and discovered they'd made a lot of cutbacks. I'm optimistic it's better. Unfortunately my husband doesn't eat a lot of bread, so dining is hard at these places. The salad station sounds promising.
That's good. They seemed to be good with customizing orders, too. You can always ask. I have a feeling they would be accommodating.

Great pictures. Thank you for posting. I was especially interested to see a picture of the sofa bed made up as we will need to use this for my son. It looks perfect for him (he'll be 6 when we travel). Just out of interest do mousekeeping make this up each day or do you do it yourself?

We will be back at rpc in a king deluxe on the 25th of this month. We are doing one night in a bungalow at the poly on the 24th to check it out but think we will still prefer rpc so spending the rest of the trip there. I requested one of the larger no balcony rooms. Hopefully we will get it.

Very excited to take our 14 month old to crt! She was asleep when we were there in June!

Could someone please tell me more about the Deluxe Queen rooms in the Main Building? I can't seem to find square footage of the rooms or the price. We're going in June. I read the info on the first page already. We've stayed twice in a Standard room in RPC in the past. Just wondering if there's that much of a difference.
We e stayed several times in the queen deuxe rooms and love them. They are usually cheaper by a few dollars then the tpv standard main building rooms. So if you price a tpv rpc room you should get an idea of cost.

You do have to call to book that, they never show up on the website as available.

CRSNDSNY, thank you for the beautiful photo tour, especially through the Christmas decorations! I love the colors they've introduced since the last time I was there for the holidays. Lovely to journey through the Grand through your photos!

CRSNDSNY thanks for all the photos.

@CRSNDSNY Your pictures are fantastic. There is no place like the Grand at Christmas. Our most favorite trip ever! Thank you!

You are all so welcome! I took so many photos during this trip - it was so magical! We just love Christmas in Disney and the GF was a spectacular resort to celebrate at. We were in Sugar Loaf, standard CL room with a view of the pool and courtyard. Our room was on the 3rd floor.

We had the dining plan, but with concierge level, I'm not sure I would double up like that again. Either one of the other would be sufficient. the CL access provided a lot of great snacky foods, plus beverages throughout the day. We like to eat, so we always wanted to try some of the foods, therefore, found ourselves with about 11 quick serve credits left by the end of the trip. :( Our touring style is to hit the parks at rope drop - and at Christmas, rope drop at MK is 7am. We stay in the parks until about 1 and then go back to the resort. The convenience was worth the price alone! We like to spend time at the resort so we would then do this for several hours, heading back out for dinner and some more rides in the evening. We tried to do a lot at the GF and really feel like it is a resort we can stay at for many days and never even step foot in a park.

Some of my favorite moments were:
Sitting and enjoying coffee on our balcony while the sun was coming up, wrapped in those lovely robes. You can hear the faint sound of Christmas music playing. It was pure heaven! I loved it so much.
The smell of lemongrass everywhere at that resort. Plus, the smell of gingerbread in the lobby.
The lovely cast members we met in every nook and cranny of the GF. Everyone was so kind to my children. They had so much fun interacting with everyone and over the days they remembered them and the many details my kids would blab about with them!
The pools are wonderful. There is absolutely nothing in the world like sitting in a pool with Bay Lake to your left and the sound of the boats/ferrys and the monorail zooming overhead on your right.
Gasparilla Grill was a great food option once it actually opened! Some resorts have grab and go only, with no place to sit. Or some resorts are so overcrowded with loud people (mainly children, cheerleaders, etc.) that it makes it less relaxing. I felt good sitting at GG and enjoying a quick meal. It was spacious and the seats were comfortable.

Actually, my daughter is 11 and enjoyed the sofa bed. It was kept like that and mousekeeping made it each day. They even did turndown service on that bed, as well. She was delighted - I told her with the way she had her stuffed animals around it, it was like a college dorm. That made her happy so she loved the little space to call her own.

And just as an aside, I am typically not thrilled with hotel beds, but the GF beds were nice and soft - perfect for me! I slept like a baby each night. I cannot say that about all of the Disney resorts I've stayed at.

CRSNDSNY - Thank you for the pictures and your summary of your trip! Always love to read about experiences at the GF.

Happy New Year!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, sitting on the balcony at the Grand is just pure heaven. I love to listen to the boat whistles and train whistles, too. It's my most favorite thing to do. I know a lot of people who might not understand that, but it's true. The relaxing feel of this resort just can't be beat. I can't think of anything better.

I get it too.... we utilize our balcony a ton. We order groceries and come back for a mid day break. We'll sit outside and my daughter will have a snack. We use it in the morning. I cannot believe I even considered going to the Poly. We could end up with no balcony!

The youngest of our crew discovered that at a young age -- I think she was 11 when she made herself a cup of tea, put on GF robe and went out onto the balcony and curled up on a chair. When we asked her what she was doing, she said "soaking up all the early magic." She'll be doing it shortly -- but now at 18, it won't be at 6am!
