“WE’RE GOING TO MICKEY’S HOUSE!" ...aka the trip that drove me up a wall. - THE END!!

ok, so first of all...FIVE updates on Disney on Ice? Just because of all the pictures you took?!? I can't even imagine how many you are going to take in August.

Well yeah! I’m tellin’ ya. August is going to be BAD.

Third, the whole fairy thing was kind of boring. Although, I think CJ really liked Tink. He kept waving at her. :lovestruc

The fairies were dumb! He LOVED Tink. A lot.

Good pics Meg. We had a fun day...now, don't forget that $5 you owe me!

Thank you and we did!
What five bucks do you speak of?

Diet coke? I'm just liking mum more and more

Oh yes!

Subbing! What a great trip report!

Thank you and I appreciate it :-)

Eating and shopping at the place THAT IS NOT DISNEY SPRINGS - part 2

After we finished up our wonderful meal, we walked to the pin trading shop thing.

Excuse me.

After we finished up our wonderful meal, I LIMPED to the pin trading shop thing. And Mum and Mimi were like five miles up ahead.

Now that is more like it.

Why is Donald mad when there are FIVE MILLION PINS BEHIND HIM?!?
disneynovember20121370.jpg

This is just too cute.
disneynovember20121371.jpg

2013 pins! (which were new to us then)
disneynovember20121373.jpg

I don’t think I got anything there. Who knows though. I might’ve traded. I might’ve bought a pin. IDK.

Pretty bokeh Christmas tree.
disneynovember20121374.jpg

I limped myself to Tren-D aka the place where they take all of your money away.

IT IS SO PRETTY IN THERE.
disneynovember20121376.jpg

HOW CUTE IS THIS OMG.
disneynovember20121377.jpg

I WANT A HARVEY BAG SO CRAPPIN’ BAD. LIKE SOMEONE BUY ONE FOR MOI AND I’LL LOVE YOU FOREVER. I’m not kiddin’ around here people. I give you awesome reading material and you should give me something in return. Like a Nightmare Before Christmas Harvey bag. I’m serious.
disneynovember20121378.jpg

ME WANT THAT LAMP LIGHT THINGY.
disneynovember20121379.jpg

I saw a Dumbo shirt in here (didn’t take a pic SORRAY) that I really liked but I decided not to get it. I figured the 60-70 Disney shirts that I had in my closet back in good ol Massachusetts was enough.

That number has increased since then but it’s not like I care.

Hi, my name is Megan and I am obsessed with Disney. Bye now.

SOoooooooooOOOOOooo, from Tren-D—where I didn’t buy a THING. OMG how is that possible. I don’t even know. Holy poops—we headed over to World of Disney, which was PACKED. On a Monday night. (right? Still on Monday? I think so…). But I would expect nothing else from it being Thanksgiving week and all.

We entered through the door where you have the pirates on one side and Buzz is hanging from the ceiling. If you have no clue what I am talking about, it is the dude’s room.

So we knew that the three of us would get separated from it being so crowded and all. So we made a plan to meet back in the dude’s room under Buzz (foreshadowing…) at 9:15, aka about 35 minutes from that point. We thought that would be enough time and it was.

So we headed our separate ways and holy lord. IT WAS PACKED. And it didn’t really help that I couldn’t dodge crowds that much due to the whole limping issue.

Horrendous pic probably because I wish being pushed by children, the limping, and I was trying to hold all of the things I was buying.
disneynovember20121381.jpg

Blurry pic of Christmas stuff.
disneynovember20121382.jpg

How. Cute. Is. This. Like, I haven’t seen the whole set before! They should do that for all of the other dolls.
disneynovember20121383.jpg

HEAVEN ON EARTH.
disneynovember20121384.jpg

But really. Me need even though I have one EXACTLY like this, minus the mickey heads.
disneynovember20121385.jpg

THEY INCLUDED POCA AND MULAN HOLY POOPERS. LOOK TWIN!!!
disneynovember20121386.jpg

Does anyone know what this is? I have never heard of it before. (sorry for the blurry pic).
disneynovember20121387.jpg

Why can’t I be little again and become a princess? Who really cares though because I AM BECOMING A MERMAID THIS SUMMER.
disneynovember20121388.jpg

This pin is perfect.
disneynovember20121389.jpg

I checked out at about 9:05. I got a Mickey shirt (cause I needed it), a Christmas pin, a postcard for my bulletin board, pens for some people at school, and a children’s plate that Mum made me put back. I knew why.

Mrs. Claus bought it for me! THANK YOU.

I sat down in the corner of the dude’s room on the floor because of the pain in my legs. I could barely take it much longer and I just wanted to go back to our room and rest it.

Well turns out I got to rest it in World of Disney for a good 30 minutes.

Mum paid for the things she got and we waited.

And waited.

And pretty soon it was about 9:35 and Mimi was NOWHERE to be found. I know it is the largest character store in the whole world, BUT COME ON NOW.

So she called at about 9:35 and was wondering where we were.

RIGHT UNDER BUZZ WHERE WE SAID WE WERE MEETING.
disneynovember20121392.jpg

She was like “Oh I am in the wrong room and I was waiting for you guys!”

I swear to god my grandmother is losing it.

She was in like the jewelry section. TOTALLY DIFFERENT PLACE.

Dear lord…

So she found her way to the dude’s room and I was like “DO I HAVE TO GET UP?”

But then Mum mentioned ice cream from Ghirardelli and I wasn’t limping anymore.

DISNEY MAGIC DUDES.

I stood right up and went over to Heaven.
disneynovember20121393.jpg

We got in line and once it was our turn, I ordered the cookie bottom sundae.

“We are all out of cookies.”

I was heartbroken and that just ruined the trip even more. LIKE HOW COULD THEY BE OUT OF THEIR DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES?????

So I ended up having to get the brownie sundae.

I know you guys feel so bad for me.

Mum got the peanut butter sundae and Mimi just got a coffee.

I told you guys my grandmother was weird.

I found a table outside kinda near Guest Relations.
disneynovember20121395.jpg

We got our number and waited for my cookie bottom sundae that never was and Mum’s sundae.
disneynovember20121396.jpg

Our ice cream came out in about 10 minutes and it was kind of melted. Whatever… Still awesome though!

Here is my brownie sundae.
disneynovember20121400.jpg

And Mum’s sundae and holy crap the pic came out so bad.
disneynovember20121402.jpg

We ate our ice cream, Mimi drank her coffee (I don’t even know), and I made a total mess.

After we finished, I was ready to go. I just wanted some sleep and to rest my leg. So I followed behind, limping, and we made our way to the bus stop. They had a pin board out there but I didn’t see anything good and plus our bus was JUST pulling up so I fast-limped to get it. And OF COURSE, no one folded up their strollers. Excuse me while I pull out my hair.

Oh wait. Here is a random picture of a window display in DTD. You’re welcome.
disneynovember20121405.jpg

Once we got back to AoA, we got a drink in Landscape of Flavors and took what seemed to moi, as the longest walk EVER. I blame the limping.

Once we got back to the room, I crashed at about 11.

HOW does one, run OUT of cookies?!

I don’t know the answer to that question. SERIOUSLY.

NJ DISMEET for GKTW - PART 1!

Several real life updates comin’ your way. I don’t think I will finish them all tonight, so if I don’t, they will be up probably tomorrow. I could get them all done if I didn’t have math homework BUT NO. My idiot teacher likes to give us work on stuff that she teaches 5 minutes before the bell rings.

Fun times.

Anyways. You all should know we were out of the state this weekend. Sadly, not in Florida, but it was Disney related so yeah!
We went to the New Jersey Dismeet this past weekend (April 26-28th) to raise money for Give Kids the World, which is an awesome organization. If you are not familiar with GKTW, it is similar to Make a Wish.
This was my second big Dismeet and Mum’s third and OMG IT WAS AMAZING, but I am getting ahead of myself now.

Let’s back up to Friday, the 26th.

I went to school. Mum to work. Seriously, this day DRAGGED. And then my idiot math teacher gave us a bunch of homework for the weekend that I didn’t understand and I was just a little busy. So last night I got around to it. Didn’t get it. YAY MATH!

I got dismissed from school at 12:15 so we could leave. NJ is about 4 hours from us, and that is with no traffic. Oh traffic…

We went to the post office before going home and then we had to get last minute things together and say bye to the cats. They hate us.

We headed out the door and loaded everything into the car, and we were off!

I put on the DISunplugged and we drove for what seemed like forever, until we got to New York City.

And let’s backtrack a minute here.

There was a live podcast recording this weekend with most of the DISunplugged team. Some of you might not be familiar with the podcast, but Pete (duh), Corey, Julie, Teresa, Kathy, Shaun, Craig, and Dustin came. And Ferris and Finley made an appearance! Cutest. Kids. EVER. But we will get to that soon…

So…. Once we got to NYC, traffic. Traffic. And more traffic. And have I mentioned TRAFFIC?!?!?

We were just stopped on the highway.

FOR ALMOST TWO CRAPPIN’ HOURS. I was about to lose it. It was so much fun. And then I heard some bad words come out of my mother’s mouth because of the drivers in New York. But I mean, we aren’t much better in Boston. But when you get cut off… Well that is another story.

It was a lot of fun to say the least.

Note to self: Never go over the George Washington Bridge again.

This was my view for all of that time.
099ks.jpg

How lovely, I know.

And then some guy was in the middle of the road selling Beats headphones.

I’m sure they were real.

After we FINALLY made it over the GWB, we got into NJ and then got gas at a rest stop. They pump it for you AND they wash your windshield. Not bad!

Once we got back on the highway, we HIT EVEN MORE TRAFFIC.

And seriously. We had about 5 minutes to spare. There was no way we were going to make it on time. I mean, it was almost six and game night started at seven. At the hotel we were staying at. AN HOUR AWAY. So basically, we couldn’t afford hitting even more traffic. THANKFULLY, it was only about 10 minutes but still.

Once we finally got to the Hilton Garden Inn, or whatever it was called, we ran inside, checked in, and ran for the bathroom so we could make it for game night.

7:05.

HOW RIDICULOUS WHEN WE LEFT AT ONE.

And we never had a real dinner. My dinner was like 5 Twizzlers. Awesome, I know.

We checked in at registration, got our name tags, and everything we would need for the weekend.
128ro.jpg

We went inside the room game night was being held and they had cheese, crackers, fruit, etc. Some snacks to hold you over. Thank God.
102nd.jpg

After we ate and said hi to everyone, we sat down with some people just in time to play Name that Tune!

We sat with two other women at some random table in the room.

We got pieces of paper with spots to fill in the song names and we also had bonus questions on those songs. And we had to include the movie AND the name of the song. And for the park music, we had to include the name of the ride or area and what park you can find it in.

We had no clue what to call our team, so we came up with this. We are original and cool, I know.
103bl.jpg

Some of the songs were pretty hard, but our team did pretty well! Think we got 95 points and came in 5th place. Kathy and Teresa’s table tied for 1st place and they were called the Rowdy table… They kill me.

And speaking of the podcast team, Julie was dressed up in her Snookie outfit! Mum thought she needed more padding though…

After Name that Tune!, it was time for Bunco, which I was not familiar with. I don’t know if it is a NJ thing or what, but I did not get the rules, so we didn’t play. I just know it involved bells and dice. That is all.

So while everyone was playing Bunco, we ate.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW.

We had Mickey cookies and these AMAZING cake truffle balls made out of Oreos. HOLY CRAP. They were amazing and I had about ten.
104ie.jpg

107oq.jpg

125au.jpg

127gj.jpg

Sorry not sorry for all of the dessert food porn.

After everyone finished Bunco and we finished pigging out, IT WAS TIME FOR THE TASTYCAKE CONTEST!

Now, I have never tried a tasycake, and after this contest, I never want to.

OMG.

Pete recorded this video of the results. Sadly, the stream didn’t work for when they were actually eating the cakes, but don’t worry. I CAPTURED IT ON CAMERA.

Here is the video: http://new.livestream.com/TheDIS/events/2060898

“Dustin looks like the creepy uncle in the background… HEY LITTLE GIRL DO YOU WANT A TASTYCAKE?!”

I just love Pete.

And Dustin.

MOVING ON NOW.

Before the contest began, people could sponsor the people in the contest. We raised $1700 JUST WITH THAT. DISERS RULE. THE END.

Getting ready…
109ka.jpg

114xi.jpg

Eww. That is all.
115qs.jpg

122so.jpg

Kevin won (in the red and you will meet him later!) and he ate 10 TASTYCAKES.

Excuse me while I throw up.

After the Tastycake contest, we went over to Kathy’s table and talked to her for a while. (you met Kathy in this TR, FYI!). We basically chatted about cameras, Disney, and all that fun stuff. She is so nice! We said goodbye and then headed out to go to our room.

We went out to the car and got our luggage and went up to our room.

We were on the 3rd floor and we were like 5 miles away from the elevator.

If you haven’t noticed, I am lazy.

When we put our key card in the little slot in our door, the green light didn’t come on. Instead, It was orange and we couldn’t get in our room. Oh yay. So lovely.

So we had to go ALL the way back down to the front desk and got our new key cards. Then this young couple asked us what Dis meant. I think they were drunk.
They were like “Does it mean daughters? Dancers?”
I don’t even know.

So we explained to them what it meant and said how we were raising money for GKTW. They thought that was so cool and seemed way too over excited about it.

Like I said. I think they were drunk.

Then I noticed we didn’t have our bag with stuff in it for the meet and our name tags so I had to head back to the room to get it. When I came back, Mum was talking to Pete and Dustin. They thought we just got in. Well Shaun and Craig did! Thankfully, we only had traffic and not flight delays.

Kind of the same thing, but not.

We told Pete we loved the show and talked about the NE Dismeet in June. He was very happy they weren’t staying in Springfield.

I don’t blame him one bit.

We said goodbye and headed BACK up to our room and HALLELUJAH the card worked.

Here is our room if you wanted to see. You kind of have to now.
135nf.jpg

Kind of like a little villa!
134lko.jpg

132ua.jpg

Mum was excited over the Bath and Body Works soap, shampoo, etc. I don’t even know.
133kx.jpg

For the rest of the night, I spun around in the desk chair. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN and I almost hurt myself a few times. And by that I mean like totally flipping the chair over while I was in it. That’s moi for ya. And I took some pics cause I’m a weirdo. You guys really don’t want to see some of them. I look like I’m on crack in those.

ATTRACTIVE! …and WHAT is with that double chin goin’ on?!
138adw.jpg

Then I chilled for a while with my Miss Piggy socks. I know I am awesome. You guys don’t have to tell moi twice!
141vui.jpg

I fell asleep around 11, cause I was busy tweeting and instagraming. That is my life.

DAY TWO TOMORROW!

NYC and traffic go hand and hand

reasons why I always use public transit when I go....

"And then some guy was in the middle of the road selling Beats headphones.

I’m sure they were real."

BAHAHAHAHAHHSIAFJSAILHFIAJDSF :rotfl:

LOL the team name omg

wait, purdy sure I know those truffles. Can make ;)

Ah yes, the oh so wonderful GW Bridge. I forgot to make sure it didn't take us that way. I really wanted to go over the Tappan Zee....oh well. Instead, we sat in traffic. Although, I have to say, once you get to Jersey on 95, they have those great gas stations where gas is sooo much cheaper AND they really scrub your windshield and get it nice and clean! Full service! Don't have those at home.
Lucky for us we were only about 10 minutes late, so we didn't miss anything...except being able to eat dinner! All of those Oreo balls made up for it! ;)

Hmm, Bunco...don't even know. The instructions seemed way too confusing. Eating was better! :)

Ok, those Tastycakes...never had one, and what was worse is that these were butterscotch. Not a flavor I like, so this was making me feel really sick. But they all did great. You didn't mention how Kim, the only girl who entered, was dunking them into water like the professional eaters do. She was good, and got in 8! Bleech. Fun to watch though!

I am so glad you are sharing your GKTW experience with us !! I listen to Pete and the gang every week on the way back and forth to work and I just love them all.

So much fun to read about. I mea, you are fun anyway, but THIS is awesome. Looking forward to reading more !!

PS - I love your Miss Piggy socks - Hi YA !!!

We seriously should’ve taken the train in or something. I hate traffic, especially in NYC.

YOU SHOULD AND TAKE PICS OF THEM.

I don’t understand why you love those gas stations SO much. Yeah I know the gas is cheaper and all, but still.
THOSE OREO BALLS SHOULD BE DINNER EVERY NIGHT.
Eating > everything else.
That’s right! And then Pete made her drink it…. EWWWWW.

I am so glad you are sharing your GKTW experience with us !! I listen to Pete and the gang every week on the way back and forth to work and I just love them all.

I LOVE the DISunplugged. We listen to it all the time!
Well thank you very much!
OH THANKS. AREN’T THEY COOL.

NJ DISMEEET for GKTW - PART 2!

FOR SOME ODD REASON, I woke up at six am.

I don’t even know why.

I didn’t sleep that well and plus the beds were super uncomfortable. They had this dial thing on the side of the bed and I turned it all the way to soft. Yeah, it felt firm. Not cool, dudes.

So I went on Twitter and all that fun stuff until Mum woke up, or until I woke her up. I don’t know which one. I probably woke her up cause let’s be real now.

Once we actually got out of bed, Mum hopped in the shower and I spun around in the chair. For like 20 minutes until I was so dizzy I was about to fall over. And plus I almost fell over in the chair about 10 times. I’m surprised I don’t have bruises or anything.

I’m nuts.

After Mum got out of the shower, I took one, put my makeup on, and all of that fun stuff.

Once we were all finished (and no it didn’t take 3+ hours. Foreshadowing for the November part…) we headed downstairs to the lobby. They didn’t have a free breakfast, but there was one for like nine bucks per person and you could get fruit, beverages, omelets, pancakes, waffles, etc. The usual breakfast stuff. So we did that!

We saw Julie and Finley in the lobby and Finley looked ADORABLE in her little sparkly skirt. OMG I want that kid as my sister.

We found a table and then went up to the line to get omelets and pancakes.

Kathy and Teresa were in line with us and they just crack me up. Oh my god. They didn’t notice the huge sign that read what was for breakfast and Teresa turned to Mum and said “Was that there before?” And Mum said “Oh no. They JUST put it up.”

Maybe it was funnier in person…

All of the cooks talked in Spanish and Teresa kept asking me “WHAT ARE THEY SAYING?!” I told mum after and she said she should be used to that, due to living in Florida and all.

Once we got our food, we headed back to our table.

I got an omelet with cheese, ham, peppers, onions, and who knows what else. I am an adventurous eater to say the least. And those are potatoes next to it.
150hwt.jpg

I also got some fruit and a pastry thing that I thought was a chocolate croissant. Not so much. It was hard and not good.
151cgm.jpg

Everything else was great! Mum got pancakes, fruit and some other breakfasty stuff. She enjoyed everything, I’m pretty sure.

After we finished breakfast, we decided to go back up to our room and get our things we would need for the day.

We still had about two hours to kill till the main event, so we headed over to the mall! I think it was called Bridgewater Commons, and it was SUCH a nice mall.

Once we got there (it was only several miles away), we found a parking spot and went to CRUMBS first, and at least I think we did.

Twin, get excited.

Everything looked amazing in there and I was about to die. I had been to Crumbs before, but we never got anything. Little different this time around!

I got a red velvet cupcake (I blame my twin) and we got a box of 12 mini cupcakes to bring to bowling that night.

LOOK AT IT.
156px.jpg

AND THE BOX OF CUPCAKES.
200af.jpg

Heaven. That is all.

After we stocked up on sweets, we headed to Sephora because I wanted to check out the Jasmine collection! I had seen pictures of it before but not in person. All of it was really cool, except the perfume. I am not a perfume fan as it is, and this was just horrendous. YUCK. In there, I also saw this really cool nail polish that looked like a chalkboard and then you could draw on it. I didn’t get it, but I thought it was really cool.

After Sephora, I forget where we went exactly, but we went into Forever 21 where I found a black and white checkered dress. I wanted to get short leggings with it, but they had none.

Then we checked out Hot Topic where I got this light vest with a skull on the back.

We also checked out the Thomas Kinkade store where there were SO many Disney paintings and I just wanted them all. UGH SO PRETTY.

It was almost 11:30 at this time and we needed to go back to the hotel to drop off our cupcakes, so that is what we did.

After that, we headed to the main event, which was about 5 minutes away.

Since we already checked in for everything the night before, we didn’t have to do anything except wait until the doors opened. While we were in the lobby, we bought 30 more raffle tickets. We already had 10 each but we needed more!

Once they opened the doors, we found a table (the Wishes table!) and met our tablemates.

The program, I guess you could call it.
160fh.jpg

We headed up to the FOUR tables filled with the raffle items. There were about 140 of them! They also had about two tables filled with silent auction items.

Some of the items. AND EWW IT IS DUFFY.
163dy.jpg

Snow White stuff!
165qd.jpg

I wanted this SO CRAPPING BAD. I put about 30 tickets in there, and I didn’t even win it! It was an opening day map, buttons, AND THAT POOH PLUSH.
166af.jpg

Cute little bags!
167cu.jpg

Mum made some items for the raffled and everyone loved them! She has been making park map bracelets lately and necklaces with images she finds on the computer. She has been thinking about making an Etsy shop with stuff like that. I’ll let you guys know if that happens!
170qlt.jpg

179yt.jpg

This was one of the silent auction items. I LOVED IT.
171ai.jpg

Awesome Aulani stuff!

Loved these photos from Kathy!

Teresa’s daughter Stella drew this. She did a really good job! It went for over $200 and Corey got it!

Then we went up to play Where in the World after we looked at all the raffles and auction items.

Some of them were really hard and then some I knew right off the bat. Then Mum decided to FLIP THE PICTURES OVER for some odd reason and there were the answers! Oh Mum… She only flipped one over so we just didn’t put that on our sheet. You had to pay a dollar to play and that money went to GKTW, of course!

Some of the pictures.

Before lunch, we played DIS bingo and we had to go around to a bunch of people and ask them if they did… for example, if they have played golf at WDW, or have been on the Disney Magic. Stuff like that! One of them was if you went to the 1964-65 World’s Fair and there was guy who actually went! He said you had to pay $7 to get into the fair and then another dollar to ride Its a Small World. Really cool!

Then it was time for lunch! They had pasta, potatoes, salad, vegetables, bread, and chicken. Everything was REALLY delish and cooked well.

After lunch, we had time to chill and we talked to the people at our table.

Before the podcast, they announced the winners for Bingo and the Where in the World contest. AND GUESS WHAT! I was one of the two people that won the Where in the World contest! GO MOI! SO I won a GKTW bag and bracelet, which reminds me on Minnie.

Then, the live podcast started! And we had a front row view. We were right behind Craig and Dustin. It was a little hard to see Shaun and Teresa sometimes, but that was ok.

Like always, the podcast was great. It is a VERY different experience seeing it live. And it is going up today if you want to go listen, but it seems like they are—or were—having some technical problems, so I’m not really sure.

EDIT: I just checked and it looks like they will be going “live” at 7pm!

EDIT PART 2: IT IS UP NOW!

They talked about the whole Monstrous Summer thing that just got announced and the changes coming to the Magic, which I CANNOT believe they are doing in six weeks. And have you guys seen the AquaDUNK?! I will not be going on that. That seriously looks terrifying. If you haven’t seen the video, here it is: https://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?v=445494902198593&set=vb.300173409654&type=3&theater

HOW SCARY DOES THAT LOOK!!??? I will not be going anywhere near that thing. The podcast team was saying how you stand up and then after the count of three, a door opens up below you and you basically fall. So basically it is Tower of Terror: Sea Edition. And then you go 20 feet over the side of the ship. Excuse moi while I puke. I have been on the AquaDUCK, and that was fine, but I couldn’t do this. AT ALL.

And of course, there was much crying going on on one side of the table aka TERESA. And I have no clue what was up with her and the M&Ms. Go watch the video of the podcast. Oh my God.

After the wrapped up the show, they announced the raffle prizes, which took forever because there were so many.

Let’s just say I won several prizes.

Not braggin’ here, but I am a lucky duck sometimes. If only I won that Animal Kingdom one…

So I won FOUR prizes.
1. The Snow White one! It came with a 60th anniversary poster from the movie which is so cool, the DVD, and two stuffed animals which are ancient. The Queen has the OLD Disney Store logo!
2. A snow globe from hallmark that is from Walt’s 100th birthday. It plays When you Wish Upon a Star!
3. A really old Disney board game, and I am way too lazy to see what the name of it is right now. (pics will some ASAP).
4. And last but not least, the little lime green park bag I included a picture of!

I WAS SO LUCKY. OMG.

And then Mum won a Five Guys gift.

That you could only use at one certain location.

In NJ.

So we had to give it back. Nice job reading, Mum!

After I got all of my prizes and such, the main event was then over, so we headed out to get some dinner.

Mum put the wrong address into the GPS and we got to some random house on some random street. Sadly, they weren’t home to serve us dinner. SO SAD.

I found the RIGHT address and we drove to the restaurant. It was called the Chimney Rock Inn or something along the lines of that. The food was pretty good. I just got a burger. Mum got a chicken caeser wrap. For dessert, I got this thing called Rocky the Bear, which was a scoop of chocolate gelato with a bear face on it. It was so cute and yummy!

After dinner, we headed back to the hotel and got the cupcakes and then headed to the BOWLING ALLEY! We got there a little after seven and like no one was there. We sat down with Kevin (who won the tasycake contest!) and his fiancée Kaelea. They are getting married soon and they are going to Disney for their honeymoon so we talked about their trip, DVC, and our upcoming trip. They were SO nice!

Once more people got there, we got our lane and shoes and decided to be on a team with Kevin and Kaelea. Linda, who helped organize the whole event, was also on our team. And we had a special guest join our team after.

Of course, we got the lightest balls there were because we don’t like heavy balls……..

Here are the balls.

SOOOOO, we got our names on the screen thingy and we got to pick a theme for our screen so we went with vintage, DUH.

I am AWFUL at bowling, so I didn’t do very well at all. I think I got a 65 first game. That just shows how awesome I am.

Meanwhile next to us, Mr. Corey Martin broke the lane like two times because he got a strike almost every single time.

Skill, my friends.

Before we started our second game, we asked if anyone else wanted to join in and Teresa came over!

Because she joined at the end of our game, we had to put her name in, but she never scored anything. So what happened was, Kevin had to manually go in and put a strike every single time for her. AND SHE WON WITH A 299! GO TERESA!

We then started our second game and I don’t think Teresa had every bowled before. She did pretty well, and A LOT better than moi. And for some reason, she got a KICK out of the dudes that would show up on the screen. Those dudes were funny. And weird…

Teresa didn’t finish the game with us, but we had a lot of fun with her!

Mum, Linda, and moi didn’t feel like playing a third game so we sat on the sides and talked about how Linda’s son works for Disney as a character attendant in MK and was on the opening team for Brave! SO COOL. She also told us how they might be moving to Florida soon! Sending good vibes her way!

During our games, we got pizza, which was normal bowling alley pizza. Not like AMAZING or anything.

Kevin and Kaelea started another game but then our lanes shut down because or time was up.

We said goodbye to them and then we went around offering people cupcakes because like NO ONE ATE THEM. I don’t even know.

I offered one to Dustin and he took the red velvet one and said “¡Gracias senorita!” and did a little bow.

…………………

:-)

ANYWAYS…. Then I offered one to Shaun and he said no thank you and then he goes “I know you from Instagram!”

And I was like “…wait. WHAT?!”

That made me so happy! He doesn’t follow me, but he looks at my pictures and KNOWS MOI! Like, come on now. HOW COOL IS THAT.

And then Craig came up and said “You’re Meg, right?!”

WHY YES YES I AM.

CRAIG LOOKS AT MY PICTURES TOOOOO!!!!!!

And then COREY joined in on the conversation! I told him Julie follows me (cause she does) and he started looking me up on Instagram.

I felt so special and so crappin’ happy!

And then Craig took a cupcake.

So.

Yeah.

Just a little excited about that!!!!!

We then left the bowling alley and headed back to the hotel. They were having an after partay in the lobby, but I was EXHAUSTED so we just went up to the room and fell asleep.

GOOOOOOOD NIGHT PEEPS!

LAST DAY TOMORROW ):

You were quite disrespectful to the performers that were playing Eric and Ariel. For someone that loves Disney and wants to be a CM surely you should support people who are living their dream, rather than bashing people on what they look like. Performers work their whole life to achieve working with a professional show.

I agree with this.

For the most part Meg, I enjoy reading your trip reports. I think you are definitely a funny girl. But at times I find how you refer to others, your aunt, uncle, grandmother, teachers, to be unnecessary. Not everyone is always going to act exactly how you want them to, it's just a fact of life. When you travel with others not everyone is going to want to do exactly what you want to do. And that's okay. I think you would have had a much more enjoyable trip, if you had rolled with the punches a little bit more.

Your aunt wants an alcoholic drink with dinner? She's an adult, that's her choice, so don't sweat it. The "other people" go to a different park? I'd just have said, "Okay, well we're at Hollywood Studios. If you want to meet up with us, text me," and gone about having an awesome time without them. It was their vacation too, they wanted to do their own thing sometimes? Cool. See you later. :cool1: Were they annoying? Probably. Was it your problem? Only because you let it be.

Not trying to attack you, I like you and think you're a fun girl. Just don't let these things and people that you can't control ruin your good time. :thumbsup2

So, normally I don't comment on things where it may seem like I am getting into it with someone, or on posts I don't like. However, I feel like I have to say something.
In some cases, people read posts or TRs on the boards and can come to feel like they "know" the writer, and therefore feel comfortable saying things to them that they maybe should keep to themselves instead.

Meg writes like she is older, and looks older. However, she is 13. I think that is one thing to keep in mind here. Also, in much of her writing she tries to take a comedic tone. I know how it can come across and tell her so, as in the case of the comments about Ariel and Eric.
However, she has somewhat of a point also. Any performer would also be able to tell you that looks come into the picture when auditioning for parts. Disney does it all the time for face characters. They have a certain look. Plain and simple. It is what it is. And when face characters don't look like who they should, people comment. I read comments very often, from adults saying things about it.
I told her it wasn't nice to comment what she did about their looks. But I don't think someone needs to use their very first post on the boards to tell someone that. Or, perhaps they needed a new screen name in order to do it. :confused3

As far as commenting on her family, well, I was almost as annoyed as she was for much of the trip. You don't know them, or all of the details, but let me assure you, it wasn't pleasant at all at times, and I can normally get along with, or at least tolerate a lot. When you have an ADR on Thanksgiving for everyone, and they decide to go to another park because they don't listen, then yeah, it becomes everyone's issue. Or when you let them know getting to the park at opening will be much better as far as being less crowded, and they show up at 11 and complain to you about everything, and how long the lines are....yes, it affects our trip as well.
It certainly would have been better to let them go off on their own, but that is not what they wanted to do, not knowing where anything was.

Of course I am biased, being Meg's mom and all, but I know what a great kid she is. She is smart, funny, and sweet. She would never be disrespectful to a teacher, or any adult in person, and really, if she says "oh, my stupid teacher gave us homework..." well, do you know many kids who don't say stuff like that? She's not saying it TO the teacher!
She loves Disney, and with all of her knowledge about it, and passion for it, I think she will make a great CM someday.

So, she says a few things on her TR that sound negative to some. Just today, we read another TR where the girl was "called out" for being too positive. My thought is, in either case, and in general, if you don't like what someone is writing, just stop reading it.

OK. Wait a minute ... she's only 13 ?? I thought she was older - maybe 15 or 16. Not that that is problem, but Wow. Meg, you are so smart and your writing is amazing for your age. You have better grammar and spelling than most adult people here.

I think you are hilarious and precious and I like you a whole bunch. And just like everyone ..... you are entitled to your opinion and if you want to express it, that is just fine. If someone disagrees with you, that is fine, too. But in the end, that is THEIR problem and not yours. Keep on keeping on, girl !!

Thanks for the Dismeet update. I can't wait to listen to the podcast on the way to work tomorrow.

How cool that you got to met all the Podcast peeps. Someone pass the bread, because I am jelly !! :rotfl: Thanks for sharing this with us !!

That was not my first post on the boards, and I didn't create this account to respond. I have enjoyed the trip report for the most part, and Meg's enthusiasm for Disney World and all things Disney. I tried to make that clear in my post. But at any age, if you post on an open forum, you're opening yourself up to commentary - both positive and negative, and I believe it's important to learn to use the Internet responsibly. Can you imagine if your family member stumbled across this forum, saw their names and pictures posted and read multiple posts calling them idiots? I tried to frame my comments in a constructive way, without the intent to offend. However, it seems I have and for that I am truly sorry. I will not comment further in this thread. :confused3

I believe she is aware that a public forum is just that. Public.
I'm pretty sure she wrote and posted what she did knowing that they potentially could find it and read what she wrote about them.
I think she took this risk as a calculated one.
