MORE eating and drinking around the world!!
After our morning in DTD we headed to Hollywood Studios for the afternoon and a second attempt at the World Showcase.
As soon as we walked in to the WS area we breathed a sigh of relief, it was sooooo much quieter than on the Saturday!! Wooooo no queues!!!
Pretty Donald outside!
We had a bit of a gameplan this time. Due to the severe lack of veggie options for him to eat we decided hed get a vegetarian platter from Morocco as I knew they looked lovely and he loves that kind of food. So we kinda started walking toward Morocco but I accidently got waylaid by the Australia stand as I really wanted to try the lamb chop. Here it is!
Grilled Lamb Chop with Potato Goat Cheese Salad and Shiraz Reduction. This was a beast!!!! It was really lovely, I started off with a knife and fork but then just picked it up and ate it like some kind of ravenous caveman
Poor Ben haha.
Ben couldnt walk past the Canada stall and not get a Moosehead so he got one.
I then spotted the Hawaii stall and before I knew it Id got a Kalua Pork Slider with Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise
Mm! Lovely, very small but lovely!
We really didnt get very far as we then spotted the Greece stall that Ben had queued up briefly but then given up and there was no queue yay! We really went to town here, I got the griddled cheese and he got the greek salad with pitta bread.
I had the Seven Tiki Mai Tai from the Hawaii stand and he got another beer (sorry, cant remember which one!) We got a little seat too and tucked into our feast
Yumm!
We had serious things to discuss though. While we were queuing for our food I had asked the CM what time the WS was open til and she said it was open til 9. 9! Disaster! We had been hoping to spend considerable amounts of time drinking and wandering round after our ADR at TE but a 9pm closure would make this pretty much impossible. Hmmm. I wondered aloud whether or not we should maybe forego our TE ADR
Ben jumped at the idea!! He said hed been thinking and he was so so so enjoying just wandering around the different stalls, listening to the music, eating, drinking, taking it all in and he thought wed have a really good night if we just continued to do that til the fireworks. /speech. Now its not often Benj pipes up his own thoughts (he is a man of few words and very easygoing!!) so whenever he does I always go along with it! And this was one of these times
So although it was very difficult for me to come to terms with a change in the itinerary, I was mega up for it! And the more we thought about it the more it realllyyy made sense. Who were we kidding, the amount we had already consumed had pretty much already guaranteed we wouldnt be hungry for a 6.40 ADR! It was like 5.15!!
So, with our new gameplan sorted, we sat there for a little while longer and finished off our delicious snacks and drinks. I loved the cheese, it was really crispy and the honey just made it amazing. My Mai Tai was lovely too, again very small but it hit the spot!
We carried on wandering, Benj got another beer and I think I got a Strongbow from England. I took a photo of Benj queuing for his beer. Cutie!
Winner!
Then we stumbled upon Off Kilter and as Ben is the biggest fan of live music perhaps in the world we made ourselves comfy (well, stood at the back) with our drinks and watched the show! It was really good, lovely stood there in the sun (freezing slightly) with our drinks, everyone around us seemed to be in such a great mood it was a really lovely atmosphere. I noticed it was much more adults and couples than families although there were still kiddies running around, I think there were just noticeably less.
After watching Off Kilter for a while we went to England and hung around in the shop for a while looking at all the stuff!
English food!
I can completely understand all the Americans who absolutely love these shops and spend a fortune on Hobnobs and stuff as I am exactly the same with American stuff and in fact make regular trips to a shop that sells American food in Southampton and coo over taffy and Twinkies.
While we were in this shop there was a CM there stood next to a blackboard that had a load of British phrases that you had to say what they were in America. This is like my specialist subject so we reeled them all off, giggling at our pronunciation of things like cilantrooo and aruugulaa (it wasnt a herb based quiz those are just the only two I can remember) and I think the CM took pity on us, possibly thinking wed escaped from somewhere and he gave us a round of applause and said we deserved Mickey stickers! BONUS!!! We were mega pleased and strolled out the shop all smug
I imagine on our way out of England we purchased another cider as I see the evidence in this photo:
Then next up was Morocco! The belly dancer was dancing so we watched her for a while, she was sooooo pretty and I had a bit of a crush on her which I am sure Ben will echo
We were laughing at all the Dads whose families were clearly wanting to move on but were getting told to JUST HANG ON A MINUTE PLEASE
Then we went into the Morocco CS and Benji got a vegetarian shwarma platter and he didnt want the dessert so I got a baklava mmmmm and we got a water for later too.
Oops
The platter was really really nice, I nibbled on a few bits and ate the baklava, also delicious! We got a really nice spot outside and were able to watch everyone pass as we munched
Italy was next and I JUST HAD to get a snack! I got the Ravioli Di Formaggio AllEmiliana (Baked Cheese Ravioli with Creamy Beef Bolognese Sauce, Parmesan Cheese, Melted Mozzarella) from Italy
Yummy!
It was nice but quite bland. Cant really go wrong with cheese and pasta though so I forced it down!!
