Disney Gift Card Deals

I would just print it out and carry it with me. I recently took a Target ecard I got from m+ with several physical cards I got for specials at Target, and got them combined at the Target service desk. Then, armed with only one gift card, I bought my Disney gift card.

How are you earning from M+? I've been trying and it seems like it will be a year before I earn a gift card.

Target has had a 10% sale on their (Target) gift cards the last two years. You have never been able to get 5% off with the RedCard on Target's own gift cards, so no, it would not be additional 5% off. Lots of blogs and internet sites have these sales listed, including sometimes someone will post it on the DIS.

I'll have to check those out to stay informed. Thanks!

As someone pointed out you won't get RC discount on target cards, but if you did your math is all wrong. The extra 2% you only get if you have certain cc that give you cash back. So the percentage will vary.

I don't know how you write that my math is all wrong. I've always been well above average in math, and this is just adding. My rc discount was referring to "in this scenario", as in using the 2% cc with the 10% target gc discount to potentially buy a 5% rc discounted Disney card. My question was specific to that. Sorry if it was worded poorly :) the idea is to use the 12% discount to buy a disney gc with the red card discount and the discounted target cards. I've never bought in store using rc. I think I'm understanding your reply to mean that bc I pay with the gift card, I can't get the rc discount, yes? I thought I had read that online, before the changes, one just had to have the rc associated to one's account to get the discount. I guess not in person. No using gc to buy rc discounted items? My math was right ... my application/ understanding was way wrong, I'm gathering ;)

Yeah, but your understanding and wording was wrong therefore math was off because is not possible way 17% they way you wrote. You can't get your 5% RC discount and your other CC 2% because in order to get the 5% you will have to pay with your RC. So you will either get 12% or 15% but not 17% in this case (15% is not even possible in this scenario)You can't get an extra 5% of Disney GC if you pay with GC at target. You only get 5% off the amount that is charged to your RC.

So as the pp said the said the discount could be 12% assuming you have a cc that gives 2% back.

I have several m+ apps, in addition to the m+places one. Each one earns at least 4 points a day, and an extra 10-25 a week. I have an iphone, and apparently android phones have more apps that earn points than the apples based ones. There is one game, Parsecs, that I am terrible at, but it still earns points as well. http://www.thepennyhoarder.com/how-to-make-money-on-your-phone-mplus-rewards/
I am not sure, but I think you can visit these sites more than once a day, and accumulate points each time. The ones I use are Cheerleader, Facts, I am, Motivation, Palabras, Thankful, Vocabulary, Women, Daily Love and LMAO. It helps that most of these apps are motivational or educational. When you open each of these, there is a circle with 3 dots on the bottom that you click on. That takes you to a page that lists other sites, and has a circle with the letter m near the top. Clicking on that takes you to the page where you can get points. Sometimes clicking on one of the "achievements" takes you to an ad that lets you earn 10-20 extra points.

On m+places, I try to stop in my local Krogers parking lot once a day, and load up on points. It helps that I am in a suburban area, that I have several traffic lights on the way to work, and that there is a place near my office that gives points. Every time you click on a place, it sends out boxes with offers and points, and you can retrieve them in 24 hours, if no one else does. THere are also boxes on the map, and you can click one an hour.

During the week, I average about 1000 points a day; weekends are harder, since we want to spend time focusing on our son. This works out to about $10 in gift cards a month, which isn't bad for just keeping busy while at stop lights, in the grocery and in meetings.

I'm still using M+ Places also. Gas stations are currently 30 points for me so I'm hitting as many of those as I can. Buy they are only 5 pts for my husband.

So, just to be clear, if I buy target gc's on that 10% sale day, I will not get an extra 5% off paying for those with my redcard, correct? Been so long since buying target gc's I'm starting to forget the rules, lol.
Just talking about target gc's and/or getting Disney gc's at target, To get 5%(or possibly more) off a Disney gc, use the redcard, or use a target giftcard you got at a place like raise or the like for 5% off or hopefully more, or the target gc's you got on the 10% off sale, or use your cc with rewards percent off when buying the target cards at target or a place like raise. Is that pretty much it there?

Correct - the Target Red Card discount does not apply when buying Target gift cards.

Last year during the sale, it was possible to buy Target GCs with Target GCs, limit $300 per person. So if you walked into Target with $270 gift cards, you could walk out with $300 in GCs without spending a penny. Self-checkout was definitely recommended for that technique, but I believe a few people reported success at manned checkouts. Back then, it worked online, too, although only one sale per IP/mailing address. Not guarantee that would work again, but in a situation like that, you could get Target cards from Raise (et al) at a discount, then turn that into even bigger savings during the "sale", netting you possibly 15% or more, depending on your CC rebate, portals used, and Raise discount.

That doesn't exactly answer your additional questions, but it's an alternate scenario to the ones you've described.

By the way, if you want to get technical about "the math", if you have a 10% discount and a 2% rebate, it's not precisely a 12% discount. If you were to buy $300 in gift cards, the 10% off would bring your in-store purchase to $270. You would earn a 2% rebate on that $270, or $5.40. So you received $305.40 worth of gift cards and rebates and paid $270 for them, a savings of $35.40. $35.40/$305.40 = 11.59% (rounded to 2 decimal places). It's a small difference to be sure, but it's always good to know (for example) that it's better to get a 10% discount than a 5% discount followed by another 5% discount. (.95 x .95 = 90.25% vs 90%).

Along the same lines, getting an extra 10% of something is never as good (mathematically) as 10% off. So when PPDG offers a $15 bonus gift card when buying a $150 gift card, it's less of a 'deal' than offering a $150 gift card for $135. ($15 off $165 = 9.09% off; $15 off $150 = 10% off).

I know a lot of us round off for simplicity's sake, but there are times where enough of these small differences start adding up.

With the ways things have been going I wonder if the gc to gc in target stores is going to be shut off before then :(.

If you have Kroger grocery stores near you, they are currently doing their 4x fuel points on gift cards.(you have to load the digital coupon).
I'm paying for our whole trip using the Disney gift cards from there. I have a big car, so my total gas savings will be over $500 when I'm done!

Last year, it was right before Xmas. Fortunately, you could shop on line as well as in the store. The limit was $300, and yes this was only on Target gift cards.

Does anyone know of a portal that pays out on Disney gift cards purchased from Sam's?
I don't. Cashbackholic has a list of places that give rebates for Sams, but they don't give details. I've already checked TopCashBack and GivingAssistant, and they Don't allow gift cards.
http://www.cashbackholic.com/cashback-rebates-samsclub.com.html

I suspect that will be the case for every place on the list, since the rebate comes from Sam's. But if you find one, please let us know.

Thanks! And that's perfect, thank you! Good thinking and thanks for reminding me of that alternate scenario, I didn't think of that! I'm gonna be keeping an eye on things, hopefully it holds out for us to use them to purchase gc's!

I thought the same thing when I remembered the Target gc sale but even if they put the squash on gc to gc I still plan on corralling my sister and mom to come with me and max that out. I'll use those Target cards for groceries, Xmas, and household spending over the next month or so and take the cash and buy Disney for my 2017 trip. I will attempt to get some Raise discounted cards prior to then. Wish I had self checkout at our super targets here! The Raise portion can also be bought through SB and my cc will give me points. I never worry about being stuck in Target gc. They are almost as good as cash to me.

I also use the weather.com app to get points and my newest addiction is 2048-it's about 20 points a day and the game is super addicting (IMO).

10% ebay Bucks on >$50 through tomorrow.

This is probably our last eBucks Bonus for the quarter, and the last one possibly ever where we can use GC>GC and earn eBucks on GCs.

Annnnd BB and $100 WG GCs are still sold out.

What's everyone buying?

Thanks for this info. I've had m+ and have struggled to get it to be profitable for me. I'll try these ideas.

Where do you see the rewards? I'll open the rewards page in the app and it will be like a $2 eBay gc. No other choices. Sometimes it's Starbucks and that's all I ever see. Or a donation.
