Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER RESORT Information & Questions

I accept that it's 'reasonable' to not guarantee connecting if there's 2 adults, but certainly they should be able to at least guarantee adjoining or across the hall.

Or at the very least in the same building. Having rooms in separate buildings is not really a solution at all for a family of two adults and five kids. If that ever happens again, please raise it to the level of the room inventory manager who I'm sure will do his best to help, don't just accept what the front desk CM says.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but when were the last room renovations done? We have a trip planned for October 2017 and are worried that with all the renovations for both the pool and the food court, the rooms are next.

The next round of soft-goods refurbishments will start sometime 2017/18, but on past experience they do this sort of thing one building at a time so it shouldn't impact on anyone's stay.

We were there the last time. As Andre stated they were doing it one building at a time. Number 7 was being renovated and it had no effect on our visit
We were there last year during the pool reno and it had more of an effect. They roped off an area we liked to lounge, but we made do.

Rooms were done a few years ago

Hi All! Our online check-in begins today and I'm hoping for some advice on what to select. We have a garden view room, but would like to be building 2 or building 5 to be close to the pool. My plan was to select "close to transportation" - but that may put us in buildings 3 or 4 as they are technically closer to the bus stop. There's a "pool view" option, but that isn't the room type that we have, so I'm not sure what that would mean for our online check-in requests. I could also fax in a request...if I were to do that would you recommend not putting in any preferences in the online check-in system? We're pretty flexible with location, just like to be close to the pool because we have a few mid-afternoon pool breaks planned...and DD often likes to swim at the end of the day for a bit on earlier nights as well. Thanks for the advice!

I would skip the room request section during Online Check In, we too find the options are never what we want, and either call your requests in or fax.

Thanks! If I call in is there a way to get directly to the resort as opposed to the general line? Should the call be made 5-ish days from the trip like the fax or can I call and add that request anytime?

No. Call the main reservations line and add any room requests to your reservation. If you do that when the room assigner gets your reservation your requests will be there with all the other details like room type, dates, etc.

If you call, that can be done any time from the day you book up until 4-5 days out. If you fax, it's recommended that you send it 4-5 days out.

The Disney website says you must be 48" or less to play at Doubloon Lagoon...Im confused by this.

Isn't the pool and hot tub open to everyone and just the splash ground restricted to the littles???

Can DH and I take our DS who will be 1 to play at the splash ground??

Maybe mommy brain and the first week back to school is frying my brain...

Think the brain frying is on Disney . My understanding that the 48" & under is for the new splash area . I am sure Disney should be OK with you or Dad taking DS
The "unofficial" site, www.portorleans.org , states the 48 & under is for the splash area

Hey y'all! Heading down to POR/POFQ in about week - fast question:

At POFQ - are there still Beignets?

And are there still Gluten-free Beignets?

(I'm looking at you, Andre'!)

Thanks! :)

On a similar note, with everything I've seen I think i know the answer to this, but I'm holding out hope. Is POFQ still making cookie ice cream sandwiches? It's basically DH's only request lol

Is the September activity calendar out yet??

How's the internal shuttle working out? Is it running most hours of the day?? Yes, I know we could walk but any energy we could save for the parks would be nice.

Anyone ever order a cake and have it delivered to POFQ?? How was it?? Was a simple or customized cake??

For the boats to DS are they shared with POR? I thought I read somewhere they share and at times can fill up fast and you need to wait longer.

Last question, I promise...how often are park buses shared??

We leave in 32 days and I'm at a lull in planning so I need to ask questions. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

1) No, but hopefully soon.
2) Works fine, it's the Disney Springs bus that handles internal transport route too. There is also a special shuttle for guests wanting to use the POR food court.
3) Yes, you can have pretty much whatever cake you want to pay for (they come from the Boardwalk Bakery I seem to recall, and are delivered to the POFQ food court for you to collect).
4) Boats are shared until 5pm, after which time they go direct to/from DS for each resort. When shared, they leave some places empty at POR to allow for picking up guests from POFQ.
5) Buses are mainly shared during the daytime, except the MK which is always separate. They are also separate early morning and at most park's closing (except AK). For full details though, see http://www.portorleans.org/buses.php
