Work has stabilized. Typical Monday in IT lately.

The other 2 things are a bit more complicated. My mom has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. So far, it’s not impacting her walking and is primarily her speech, and tremors in her hands but I know she values her independence. It was my ENT who noticed the symptoms and suggested she get checked out. She is in her 80s though.

And I’m normally the type of person who doesn’t like to give up on someone, but eventually there does come a point when I feel that maybe I’ve given someone too many chances. That point happened over the weekend. I know I will be ok, as I inherited that independent streak from my mom but today hasn’t been a great day.
Oh my I am so sorry you're going through this :grouphug: I sure hope your day is at least somewhat better as it has progressed

I’m glad you are doing better 🥰. My hair got a little bit curlier each kid I had. Our bodies do weird things sometimes!!

Weird is right. My hair was always just sorta wavy. Not straight and not curly. Well. it grew back curly. My DH has very curly hair and has always had to keep it cut quite short to avoid a curly hair helmet. We laugh because they always say old married couples start to look like each other as they grow older.....but matching curly noggins is taking it a bit too far!! :rotfl:

Has anyone checked out the Met Gala red carpet photos? A lot of the outfits are too out there for my taste, but I was scrolling a long and there was a pic of Bob Iger and his beautiful wife Willow. Willow looks gorgeous. Bob is dressed in a black tux with what look like old school white sneakers.

Now as someone who can no longer wear heels I don’t have a lot of room to talk in the shoe department, but something about that made me smile. I’m not sure if he just decided he wanted to be comfortable or if he’s making a fashion statement.

Looks like the Gala is celebrating Karl Lagerfeld this year. Bob Iger is wearing Lagerfeld sneakers. 😁

I'm sorry you had such a rough start to the week. I hope today and the days ahead are better!

I had the same thing happen. Growing up I had stick straight hair. My mom was a hair stylist so I got numerous perms over the years just to have some body and wave to my hair. Then as an adult, every time I had a baby, my hair got curlier. I keep saying that the reason we have 5 kids and not 6 (like I wanted...I prefer even numbers of things. :D) is that my hair was the perfect amount of curly after 5 and I didn't want to risk it getting *too* curly if I had another baby. :D People still think I get perms all the time and don't believe my hair is naturally curly now. Our kids range in age from 36-18, so since my hair has stayed curly for over 18 years now without any new pregnancies to "reboot" it, I think the curls are here to stay and I'm ok with that. Now if only those pregnancies had also included blonde highlights with the curls, my hair would be perfect. :D

So, the same brother who taught me to drive won a car from a radio station in Chicago in the 80s. He had won a weekly drawing I guess to qualify. They called when he was still at work. He came home. I told him he had won the car. He did not believe me, because of course your little sister would be pulling a practical joke on you. It took me a good 10 minutes to convince him..no, no really you won the car! I was thrilled as I talked to Larry Lujack on the air.

The only thing I’ve ever won was a trip to Paris. lol
I know this is an older comment, but I just came across it. Larry Lujack!! That’s a blast from the past. Our bus driver had the radio on WLS on the way the school every morning. It was likely the only station that came in for our rural central Illinois town!

Few thoughts.

room…got to resort about 5:30. DH sat outside with things. I went in, no room yet, trying to fill my request. No idea when it would be ready. Checked for ready room. We had lake view. But I had asked for north shore so we could see fireworks. CM checking……there is a room but many floors lower. Not sure what that meant but I took it. So it’s on-the fifth floor. Is that standard level??? Anyway, didn’t care, didnt want to be in Disney limbo with tired husband. Took it. Yes we overlook tennis courts and steam plant…don’t know what it is….but great view of fire works. And since we take the monorail even for MK, less elevators to worrying about.

CM…..several very kind, unfortunately, in the moment didn’t get names. Offered hand to DH getting out of ride car.

one odd encounter on monorail…..leaving Epcot, extra magic whatever, CM leans over railing and asks where we are going. He then yells (not to us), one for contemporary. Turns back to us, “look for Shelia, she’ll help you”. We get to the top, CM is going down line told few people with open strollers, you probably won’t make it on this time. Then tells us for sure you won’t make it. DH says, are you Sheila. She says sometimes and flits away. Huh??? Two mins later , a different CM opens the gate and gets us on monorail.

Before leaving Epcot we saw photo pass, got in line. Sounds crazy, but CM took 947 snaps of us and I was in tears. Last trip time after time,we saw people getting poses….do this, put arms up, act surprised……we got ready? Snap, look at each other snap,, thank you…..we felt like don’t old people get cute poses????

Guests, no issues at all of why the fat guy is riding a scooter. Sitting, DH looks fine. Walking, he looks like a drunken soldier walking on cut glass.

Last night at Epcot, loved the fire works. We pulled up behind some parties that were sitting by rail. Just before fireworks started, big guy about 6 something, gets up and says to DH, Sir,I’m going to stand so if you want to move up to railing, I can stand behind. We did, So very kind of him.

walmart…..we ordered case of water bottles for parks and several gallons for room. We got the case but no gallons. And no subs were offered. i would have take a second case of 16 oz bottle even. I had ordered boatload of stuff thinking one and done. Grrrrrr

Is your room accessible at BLT? If so I’ve had that exact room and the view of the fireworks from the balcony is amazing, not too high and not too low. Being able to get right to the contemporary without having get on an elevator is perfect too. Have a wonderful trip!!

Have you guys tried a foot peel? I love them. My favorite is the dr scholl’s ones from target for around $4, I’ve tried a few other more expensive brands from Sephora and Ulta but they didn’t work as well as the $4 one. They are a little sock that you wear for an hour with a mild acid in it, after a few days all the dead skin peels off and leaves beautiful feet behind. I like the forced hour break to relax while the socks are doing their job!!

Lil’ Nas-X went all out, I couldn’t imagine having all that stuff glued to my face. If they held the gala in Florida they would have probably started falling off due to sweating in the heat and humidity.
There were several outfits I found myself wondering how they were able to travel to the gala in the outfit, or if they would be able to fit through a doorway, or sit down? I get that it’s mostly for the photos and to raise money for charity and not to be practical. My midwestern brain tends to go to the practical side still.

No it isn’t. DH needs a few helper things. Just having shower shower and not having to worry about stepping over side of tub is great.

I had fun looking at the Met outfits with DS17. He's just the tiniest bit, incredibly gay, and he's really into fashion. There were so many throwbacks and nods to past fashion, I thought it was fun. Some of the outfits were ridiculous, but some --Nicole Kidman, Naomi Campbell--were stunning and elegant.
I completely agree about Nicole Kidman and Naomi Campbell, both absolutely elegant. I also really liked Lily Aldridge’s gown, so classically elegant. Roger Federer was an absolute ace in his tux, a grand slam in my opinion. Sorry, couldn’t resist a tennis pun there.

I am cancelling my subscription with Siruis XM, I have been paying the year in full for the last few years after negotiating the price. I had to say 6 times in the chat before they would cancel it. I'm going to just stream my spotify playlists in the car instead.

Spotify has so much content it's my go to for music.

I have Amazon Music through Prime and it doesn't IMO hold a candle to Spotify. Neither does Pandora.
