Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Recently bwi dropped their chef.......????? When did that happen? Is it permanent? That's the best part of their CL!
My friend was there in August and there was not one and told it’s gone.

For now

I also noticed decreased items in poly vs posts I had seen. They had less at cr vs last year at reopening .For example the cold meats n cheeses are gone from breakfast so I couldn’t make my ham n cheese croissant .

Thank you so much.

We’d be walking to both Epcot and DHS, so it’s the same difference in the end… And we always like that there’s a good chance of seeing Epcot fireworks from our balcony in that YC room category. Hmmm, BWI eliminated the chef? That actually sways me if they’ll let me cut a day off of the YC room. I think both lounges and tge parks will be a little insane that weekend, really glad I was able to book a VIP (though I won’t be so glad when the charge arrives)! It’s a balancing act making sure DH is happy and insulated from the worst crowds.
My friend checked in again today so if it’s back I’ll post .

We will be there the same time (Friday-Tuesday) and with a similar plan! 2 nights BWI CL and then 2 nights at CR Tower CL. I have a VIP tour reserved for Monday and have been waffling with whether to keep it or not.
I was waffling…but I have the feeling it will be insane. And we were able to make a few adjustments that will help with the cost of the VIP, so we’re going to stick with ours! If I can’t adjust YC, I’ll see you at BWI:).

Our much postponed 2020 trip is finally happening! We started planning this before my youngest (twins) turned three but many roadblocks along the way, and now they will be 5! We are staying in a Deluxe Room at WL, family of 6. ADR day is tomorrow and we've decided that we probably won't try to get too many, if the Mickey waffles are already included in our room 😂 We haven't told the kids yet but my husband is actually excited which doesn't usually happen with Disney. 🎉

I had been thinking it might be quiet so we wouldn’t need the tour. Thank you for talking some sense into me. Haha! ;)

Between the half marathon and Jersey Week, there is just nothing available for hotels - and at rack rates!!! Makes me nervous. I figure this will help tone my park dominator tendencies back and ensure DH will visit with me again 🤣!!

BWI doesn’t have a chef anymore?? Has the food changed?
I just returned from the BWI and the chef is no longer there and will not be coming back. I had to do with fire regulations. The food is still good. They are working on it and you will see changes. I loved the pork loin and the stuffed mushrooms. They did have shrimp scampi one night too. The head chef from Trattoria was up one night talking to guest and listening to suggestions.
Lene is disappointed, but has no real say in that matter.
We still had a wonderful trip and will be back soon.

Just checked out of RPC. Mixed thoughts. We were at Epcot after checking out of YC Friday & came over around 2:30. We hadn’t gotten the room ready text yet. Went to the front desk. CM was pleasant, checked us in there. Said housekeeping was in the room at the time, fixed our bands & said we could go up to the lounge to wait. No offer of an escort “you’ve been here before, you know your way around”. I didn’t think much about it till the next afternoon. I needed to go to the CM desk on the 3rd floor & saw 3 families getting checked in there. Being shown around & up to lounge, given welcome gifts, generally being made welcome. By contrast, I felt like nobody even knows we’re here. And we don’t need a lot of attention. It was just a strange contrast.

We had Room 4419, ready almost as soon as we sat down. Love the view, for a standard it was very nice. We could see most of the Electric Water Parade at Poly & fireworks from MK. Very convenient to the lounge & pretty quiet. The beds were so comfortable.

The bad: First thing I noticed was a few pieces of plastic wrapping still in the trash can. Not enough to complain about, but still shouldn’t have been there. There is some kind of drain pipe in the ceiling of the balcony. Water poured down from there when it rained heavy Saturday. And the balcony was unusable for much of the time because there was definite cigarette smoking close by. I couldn’t see anyone smoking so I couldn’t really complain about it. But after just a few minutes out there my throat was burning & I was getting congested. And yesterday our room wasn’t serviced when we came back at 3, housekeeping didn’t come til about 4:40. We just had him do towels & trash, we didn’t need anything else at that point.

Much of the food wasn’t to our taste. I loved the tomato basil soup. And the bruschetta was delicious. The 2 nights they had pasta & sauce that we would have liked, we had ADRs at Citricos & California Grill. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Oh well. They had the jars of candy so that was a good bonus! And the cheesecake at dessert time was yummy. I’d love be the tea & scones to be brought back & I missed the orchestra too.

The lovely bellman, Witt, who came for our luggage this morning asked if we heard about the remodel & showed us pictures of the new lobbies in the other buildings. He encouraged us to go over & see a model vacation club room too. He was a doll. But I felt so bad he is doing that work at his age.

All in all it was a good week. We have plans for a week in late January but I think we’re skipping club level. We do so many table service meals we usually only do breakfast in the lounge. And I really liked our CR garden wing stay for Oct 1st. So planning a few nights there & of course YC.
Yep I barely ate anything in both poly /gf lounges. Next up we will be non cl. I got a good rate for CR and kinda got our monies worth with 3 wine drinkers lol. However I think I’ll just buy a bottle and keep in my room for our poly trip in November.

Yep I asked the housekeeper for towels because we got back at 3:30 and ours was to be serviced next but we all wanted a shower NOW after a hot day at Epcot. She said to request early service for next morning. I will say I have not been betting room ready early or early servicing since Covid. It’s been frustrating.. Don’t even ask me about turndown, a much needed service lol.

With the tea room closed I fear scones are gone. The desserts all came from there. I miss the trifle so much!

We had a great trip but felt the cl did not add as much as in the past. The cutbacks can be felt. Little things like the lack of assortment in the coolers for example.

For Cr and poly I will prefer non cl in the future. Rpc I will still do if I can get a discount. The lounge itself is so spacious with 3 floors to spread out in.

I will keep an eye here, hopefully things will turn around.

For those who've stayed BWI CL recently, what toiletries do they have in the room? I'm trying to plan what we bring with us and sunscreen takes up almost my entire liquid allotment :rotfl2:

My DH really enjoys signature meals. My original plan was bigger lunches & light apps in the lounge. Even if we don’t care for the hot apps, some veggies & crackers are plenty after a steak for lunch, lol. But so many of the places he wants are dinner only. So that plan was out the window. We don’t drink, so no value there.

I totally agree with the bolded. I know some things can be attributed to staffing, like the housekeeping delays. But so many things seem to just be cost driven. I’m slowly convincing myself to start cutting back.

I don't remember everything they had but it was the standard stuff. No sunscreen or after sun stuff. Just the basics if I remember correctly. I tend to pack everything we need and then some though.

Just was there. It was just soap, shampoo and conditioner and then lotion. Nothing else.

Target has spray and lotion in their travel size section. Besides I have been traveling since Covid many times and they dont make you pull out toiletries anymore. You do have to have under 3 oz but can leave in the bag.

My local airport syr is bag in a bin and shoes off. Mco was devices larger than a laptop out, nothing in pockets and shoes off.

Hope that helps/

Rather than requesting early service, I always immediately ask for extra towels in all sizes when we arrive. I find that room servicing happens when they decide it will, regardless, and this was how it was even pre-covid. I can wait for trash to be emptied but I can't wait for towels! I also don't try to get 'only towels' if we run out: again, they will often do it on their own time. I just stash them in the drawers in case I need them.

Too bad about the tea service at GF, that really made it unique. And the live music...those were good times.

Far be it from me to spend your money, but I’ll be an enabler… a VIP tour is always worth it! :-)

Have fun!

Speaking of spending Disney money. Like a sucker we bought a few new MB+ for a recent trip. I can usually find at least a little good in most Disney things, and maybe as we use them more I’ll find it… but they sure did seem like a bit of a waste… not to mention the annoyance of having more things to charge….kids arguing because one band goes off and the other’s didn’t, etc. Just all seemed rather silly. What am I missing?

Nothing, as far as we’re concerned. We were more annoyed by them than anything. We’d be randomly walking through a park, and it would light up or vibrate. We’d stop and look around and try to figure out what set it off and most times we couldn’t figure out what it was. It was also clunky and a little too big for me; i almost took off the extra piece to make it child-sized because it moved around on me so much. I thought it was harder to snap together, too (maybe I’m just old), so I used a rubber band protector thing from another MB. I was glad we brought regular bands b/c we ended using those instead.
