Another fight and no one to stop it.

That video is shameful. People are becoming so self-centered. Kindness, and manners are gone. For one group to wait and pounce on the other for one person it's pathetic. However, line jumping drives me nuts. I get the mom with toddler, but a group of adults, or teens makes me crazy. I get that we all try to be polite but when a steady stream of people keeps passing by it makes me crazy and I often wonder what happened further back in line that everyone stood there and let it happen.

What we know -

- Two VERY LARGE groups of people got into a brawl in Fantasyland.
- Uniformed Security and Orange County Sheriffs arrived in 2 and 5 minutes.
- All persons were taken to WDW Security offices.
- Three individuals were arrested for misdemeanor battery.
- One individual was taken to the hospital for minor injury (cut on the chin).

This is all we know.

What has happened is one family ran to a blogging site to give their side of the story and provide a video - which did not verify their story, just showed the melee. We have no idea if what they said is true, I've have not seen any witnesses come forward to verify this story. We don't know for sure what happened before Philharmonic, we are only getting the story from the group who felt slighted. We have two different stories of who was waiting for who outside, we don't know what was said outside, we don't know who swung the first punch, we don't know anything - only a brawl with participants from both groups. I am not going to assume anything we heard is true or not. When you run to a blogger, lost credibility.

No where is an actual news reports anyone was charged with theft, damage to property etc so I will have to believe that part of their story was made up - but then I don't trust the blogging source anyway (big on fake stories for clicks). The story from them, if true, indicated the family that was asked to leave the hotel and trespassed was the family who believed they had been wronged??? Guess Disney didn't believe them?? No word on anything from the other (matching) family.

As far as the complaints on security - people are sure quick to lay blame on things they know nothing about. Disney Security that we see out front and walking about have lots of jobs but getting in the middle of a street fight is not one. Most are retired and in no position to battle. They aren't paid enough to get hurt. CMs in Fantasyland, absolutely not. They can ask other guests to leave the area, they can make sure some things are secured, they can keep a close watch as they are witnesses ... but jumping in to stop it - no way, not paid enough and that is not their job. Their job is notify security (who can secure the area) and the sheriff who come do the physical work. AND the parks are FULL of undercover cops. They very well could have been one of them holding back some of the swingers but they won't break cover, we are to think they were with them or another guest. People who just stood there videotaping and crying out for security need to just move on.

NOTE: I am here this week (DHS yesterday so missed it) but I can tell you guests are rude, guests are horrid to CMs, guests are yelling, guests are cutting lines .... and it is quite disheartening behavior.

I’ll never understand how these “news” items turn up and then we never hear what actually happened, was there any action taken etc., much like the interrupted proposal in Paris: was permission given? If so by who? What did Disney do to “make it right” I hate that there’s no more legitimate journalism.

I've always thought that the classic business that happens when people commit safety violations on rides is a great showstopper. You know, when the ride stops dead and a disembodied voice says, "Ma'am, you need to sit down." And the culprit just slinks back down?

Wouldn't it be great if they did it outside of the rides? I can see it now, a booming voice appearing out of nowhere, "Your attention, please. We need for the group in the blue shirts at the entrance to Peter Pan to lower your hands and step back. Threatening behavior is not tolerated here, and if you do not back off and drop this immediately, you will be ejected from the park. That's right, put down the plastic pirate sword. ... and have a magical day."

After seeing and reading all of this I’m sad.

Think about Spaceship Earth - our evolution to work with each other. Becoming team. A community. Good gravy, we’re going backwards! It’s all about ME ME ME ME ME...
Just pitiful. Perspective has lost its way!!
Yes, this. It's as if we made progress from the old days of brutality, but for some reason stopped moving forward and started to slide back.

My point is that there is absolutely no reason in the world not to act like a decent human being and just let her go ahead. I posted on a different thread about an incident on a train earlier this week. There was a blind man on a train and he was forced to give up his seat when there was another solution that would have made a lot more sense, even if technically the other party was “right.”

I heard of this fight Wednesday and saw a few YouTube videos, but didn’t know the reason until now.

Uggghhhhhh…….waiting in line is never fun, but someone joining their family, or someone leaving and returning is not going to make a difference in the final wait time. You’re supposed to be at the happiest place on earth, so get over yourself, and don’t be a jerk to others trying to have a fun family time.

Yeah I can’t see the big deal in this ride. On the other hand the cell phone getter could have waited and tried to sit with their family once they got inside
