Another fight and no one to stop it.

I have been reading online elsewhere how people are critizing Disney for not having security or Officers show up sooner, on how Disney let the fight go on so fast.. Sorry, but IMO, Why should Disney have to spend resources on idiots like this. The blame is on the parties fighting, not on Disney not putting it to stop sooner.
I am not saying Disney shouldnt step in, but I dont want a theme park either with officers standing their every 100 yards like at some airports

First rule of breaking up a big fight is to let them tire themselves out. Second rule is 2:1 ratio. You can’t get that many responders there that quickly in such a big park.

Disney will turn into the airport with princesses packing tasers.

not on Disney not putting it to stop sooner.
I think people get worried that others will be brought into the fray innocently. Can you just imagine if a baby was in that stroller that got knocked down? Do you really think the individuals involved were aware of their spatial surroundings?

Also it's really easy for a fight between just a few individuals to incorporate more individuals the longer it goes on whether bystanders or those within the group.

I don't disagree that a fight would sizzle out eventually but just how many become involved, what type of violence happens and how far it goes as far as distance matters in terms of response time. That video showed it became bigger and bigger and was wider and wider in the debris and chaos and space around that area. I can understand why people are thinking why didn't security get there faster. I can understand why they didn't just practically speaking but can also see where others are questioning the response of Disney, the CMs that did get involved were not ones that should have, they weren't security. It's more a matter of safety for all that puts the responsibility on Disney (or any entity) to get it handled as quickly and safely as posible.

I'm going to take exception to the "and no one to stop it" part of the thread title. Search for "Toon Town Fight Club" on YouTube from the fight there years ago. At first glance it doesn't look like Disney is doing anything to stop it, but as you watch that video through a few times it gets to be pretty easy to spot the Disney security people (guy with the backpack and the ball cap in that one in particular). In this case it was such a large crowd and things escalated so quickly. You can still spot the CMs that were trying to strategize in this one if you look hard enough. It was pretty chaotic though. I certainly wouldn't blame anyone at Disney at all.

So it sounds as if the sister tried to rejoin her group (not sure if she was successful) and the matching shirts group pushed her. Then the matching shirts group waited to confront her and her family after the show. That’s what I REALLY don’t get - I mean they were the jerks to begin with (IMO) and then they wanted to continue being jerks even after a twenty minute show where line position means almost nothing??

I hope that the matching shirt group was all arrested. It looked like the other group was mainly trying to get away other than one guy who kept arguing.
And they should have seen after the show that the place in line really didn’t matter! What is wrong with ppl?!

The part about approaching the family after the show is disturbing to me. I'm sure the family with the phone they left in the ECV forgot all about the incident by the time the show started, while the other family stewed about it and actually planned to wait for and confront them. About a space in line. It is absolutely crazy to me. All that violence, fighting, yelling, police reports, cell phone videos, time wasted, possible ban from the parks...........I hope it was all worth it. For a useless spot in line. Because someone forgot a cell phone. I feel bad for any small children that witnessed this awful scene.
Exactly. DH is a big guy & is 6’2 & would let it go, but if someone started being confrontational/threatening & waiting for us, that’s harassment & he would definitely lose it.

Wow...is this a thing happening regularly? We surely have devolved as a society.

One article I saw said there have been 6 similar incidents this year. Considering 50M+ pass thru the gates in a year, some nonsense is bound to happen, I guess.

None of the articles that I have read were particularly well investigated or written but I believe that in one of the earlier articles it was stated that the brother of the girl who had been shoved was the one who waited outside of the show to confront the matching shirt family. If that is the case, it makes sense that they would be banned.

The facts that just came out about the "victim" family being banned and kicked out of the Riveria came from a source inside that family. So, we do not know that the matching shirt family didn't get banned.
Oh that makes more sense & it’s still harassment. I mean I know it’s hard when someone assaulted a member of your family, but at that point, after the show, the incident was over so you don’t confront other guests, you go to a CM.

The thing I keep thinking about is the family with matching outfits was there for a child. I don't know, but someone said the shirts said something about a six year olds birthday celebration. What a beautiful thing. This family, probably parents, siblings, aunts, uncles etc. all came to Disney to celebrate a six year old, had amazing matching outfits and to have it come to that fight? It just makes me so sad.

Yes, I suppose you're right, and I guess we all have cameras on us now, and with social media these things spread like wildfire. But it does also feel to me like people are on edge....like we're all just waiting for the next thing to happen...for the next shoe to drop.

We traveled to Mexico a couple recently and thankfully, three out of the four flights were completely normal...other than being a bit hectic with lines at TSA...etc. But on the first leg home we had what I'd call a "mini-incident" on the flight. They overbooked the flight by one person and that person, who my husband and I saw at the gate securing what he thought was a seat on our flight.....threw a fit, on the plane. He was booked on the next flight to DFW and was trying to get hime sooner, which I get. I also get that the airline somehow screwed up and gave him a seat that didn't exist. But this guy elevated his "tantrum" to the point where the flight attendants had the captain come back and talk to him....that seemed to calm him down, and he exited the flight. But there's a kind of tension....that I'm not sure will dissipate for some time.

After seeing and reading all of this I’m sad.

Think about Spaceship Earth - our evolution to work with each other. Becoming team. A community. Good gravy, we’re going backwards! It’s all about ME ME ME ME ME. For crying out loud getting to this level of angry over a girl who was in the line, went back to get her phone and rejoin. And that created this insane outcome?! ER visit, arrested, banned from WDW all because of going to an EVC and PHILHARMAGIC?!!! 🤯

I still am reading conflicting stories of who waited at the exit. That’s the key on who was the instigator. However, both sides threw punches so Disney has to do what it deems for for both families.

Just pitiful. Perspective has lost its way!!

Seems to be happening more. It's very sad and scary for kids. Glad I never personally have witnessed this behavior.

Just speculating here ( and maybe a backhanded genie complaint)

But any chance that this fight is the end result of really long stand bye lines caused by Genie?

At the heat of centeral Florida in July, and we’ll the most magical place on earth and well clearly we are ready to rumble
