Disney's CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT Information & Questions

Hello all. I got the green light to take a solo trip for my 50th bday in January and looking at Moderates for this endeavor.

With the family have always rented DVC points and stayed at Deluxes (Poly, Contemporary, Boardwalk) but pickings are gone for the week of my birthday as far as availability to do that so thinking with Port Orleans French Quarter (had a 4 night solo trip there back in 2019 and loved the proximity to Epcot and the Springs) however perhaps a change is in order and that Gran Destino Tower looks really nice and the dining options are more plentiful (been there done that with the beignets). The bus "concerns" I am reading above shouldn't be an issue since I usually Uber or Lyft around WDW anyways.

Any reason why a solo trip wouldn't be a choice? Seems like more of an adult vibe being a convention space, including more places to get a beverage.

Thanks!

Here now. Perfect if you want an adult vibe. Very lively at night.

Just be aware during day, all bars are closed except for pool bar and Rix Bar/Grill.

And now they keep doors closed on 16, so you can't even look up there until Dahlia, Toledo open!

Thanks. Aside from the usual parkless day in the middle of the trip (where I will probably be stumbling around Springs anyway) the pool bar would be sufficient. Thank for the tip!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does "doors closed on 16"/"look up there" mean? We've never stayed at this resort, but we're spending the first half of our trip in a Gran Destino Tower room and I'm super excited to check it out!

Dahlia and Toledo are on the 16th floor. Dahlia (maybe Toledo- haven't been)has outdoor seating with a terrific view

It's great for solo trips since it's a convention resort it has a bit more of an adult vibe. I will also say if you are thinking of the Tower and money is the reason you aren't staying at a Deluxe, you might look into Swan/Dolphin. The prices for the Dolphin at least tend to be around the same as for the Tower and you are in Epcot/HS walking distance. I'm staying CS in Dec. but in a regular room not the tower because it saves me close to $600 over the Dolphin. I usually stay at the Dolphin but I was just there in April solo, Sept. with my son, his SO and their daughter. I'm trying to spend a little less on this trip since I'll be back in Feb. as well (I'm determined to go to all the festivals I missed last year).

We just booked a couple of nights at the Gran Destino Tower water view room category. We have never stayed here before and I was wondering if you can see any of the fire works from the water view rooms?

We have always called the "standard view" rooms the "fireworks view" rooms. We've not seen fireworks from the water side, but granted, we've not stayed on both wings yet. I just dropped a CL room for a water view room - the price difference was just too much for me. BTW, we love GDT - hope you do too!

I'm currently booked for a Standard Club Room in February but was considering changing to a Deluxe Suite. Do all Deluxe Suites come with Club Access? I'm assuming so since I don't see a listing for Deluxe with Club Access.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, all the Tower Deluxe Suites are Club Level Access. Once GDT CL reopens 12/16/2021, Disney will add back to the “Club Level Access” part to the room name.

Hope that helps!
