Are there any testing locations near WDW that aren't drive thru?

Just used beeper md. They are free and will come to your resort. Just be aware that they don’t confirm the appointment time until the day of, so it may be a little hard to plan out your day. IMO it’s worth it though since it’s free and you don’t have to Uber or taxi anywhere. Our nanny left earlier last week and she received her results in 48 hrs. There were no issues with customs/airline.
Thank you for posting your experience! We have appointments booked for Thursday with BeeperMD and I am a little nervous about the turnaround time as we did Walgreens last time, but the phone agent assured me that she’s never seen a test come back later than about 42 hours after collection (and of course, your post clearly contradicts this ;) ). Did they come right to your room or did you have to meet them somewhere? And, would you mind posting once you get your results for timing purposes, if possible? Thank you :)!

Sure. I will let you know. We decided to just meet them outside the lobby to make things easier. The test itself is super mild, they don’t go deep at all.

We used BeeperMD and had our results in about 30 hours. At one point I was getting a little nervous and called their support centre. They were very helpful, told me the tests were actually in the machine being processed. After that call, we got the result in about 2 hours.

Someone mentioned they do not confirm the appointment time. My experience was that you booked a 2 hour window - say 9 to 11 am. The morning of, they confirm the time during that window they will arrive. It worked fine for us, as we only had to plan a 2 hour window to be around the hotel. I met them in the lobby and they came right up to the room.

Are you Canadian and did you register on line for an appointment/test? If so, did it cost you anything for the test? How did you handle the address and insurance plan questions? Thanks
I’m Canadian, it was no problem. Test is free at Walgreens and CVS. I think Walgreens is better. Online form is less complicated and results in 40 min!
No to Insurance and I used hotel address.

I'm interested in these things too. I went into Walgreen's website just to see how far I could get. There was no question about insurance. When it came to the address, I was stumped. I put in the address of the hotel I'm staying at and it accepted and gave me a list of available times. The list included the following 3 days and the first 2 days were completely booked. So I'm thinking you have to plan to book 3 days out and factor in the 72 hours after that.

Honestly, I'm a bit stressed about this and I'm considering just cancelling my December trip. This was to celebrate my retirement. :sad2: Boo hoo. With all the other changes (ME gone, G+, extra charges) I think I'll just cancel and hopefully there will be a time soon when testing isn't necessary. I'll lose some points, but at least I won't spend my vacation worrying about getting back on a plane to come home.
I hope you don’t cancel, it seems overwhelming but it isn’t as bad as you think. I think testing will be with us a long time.

A friend is in WDW now and they never called/texted to confirm the appointment. They called and were told "if you haven't heard from anyone, then it's a no go". She's now looking to get her test done elsewhere. Curious what phone number you put in? Cell number? Hotel number? Or??

My long-delayed retirement trip is also scheduled for Dec timeframe and we are watching the situation anxiously. Thank you to everyone who is willing to share their experiences and tips about COVID testing options. It is was a big blow to think we could be looking at an extra $500/pp or so to complete the requirements. As the prices of everything seem to keep going up, up, and UP, this could have been the final straw for us at this time. I have been saving for this trip for a long time, and know we may have to reschedule (again) but I would hate to have to do so based on $ alone.
Congratulations on making it to retirement, I hope you get to take your retirement trip as scheduled.

I used my personal cell phone and email address.

Here is the timeline for how it worked for us:

- August 25th - booked appointment online for 5 family members for August 29th between 9:00 am and 11:00 am. Received one confirmation email immediately.
- August 26th - Received 5 Pre-Appointment Questionnaire emails, 1 for each of us. We also received these links in a text message. We completed these immediately
- August 28th - Received 5 emails and text messages that our appointment had been rescheduled to 1 hr prior to our 9am to 11am window.
- August 29th - Received text message at 8:00 am from tester that she would be arriving in about 20 minutes. Met her in the lobby and she came up to the room and administered the tests.
- August 30th around 28 hours after test, called help desk as I was getting a bit anxious. They said the tests were in the machine and should be ready shortly.
- August 30th around 30 hrs after test - received results via email.
- August 31st - Printed PCR results used at Delta counter and Customs in Canada

It sounds like mileage is varying for some people, but the experience worked well for us.

I've also booked with Beepermd for the 9th. I booked today and got an email and text for us to do the survey already. I'm hoping the rest goes smoothly as well

I just created a new thread about this so I copied and pasted from there:

Starting Sept 13, the CDC has just recommended cruisers test no earlier than two days out from a cruise.
I think this is important news because any WDW vacationers who depart FL on a Saturday and need the 72 hour test to come home, this could help for timing. Now you won't be competing with locals for any RT-PCR tests they would need to cruise. If their cruise is on a Saturday, they will need a test no earlier than Thursday now, versus Wednesday (72 hours out). If their cruise is on a Sunday, then they would need a test no earlier than Friday, etc.

Just something to add to this testing thread for consideration....

I wanted to quickly share our experience with BeeperMD today. We had booked for 1-3pm and were told that we would be receiving a text that morning from the tech confirming a more specific time. Since we didn’t, I called at 2pm and was told that appointments are always tentative, that they are basically predicated on whether there is anyone in the area that day that can be assigned to you. The rep checked and said that we wouldn’t have anyone in our area (Beach Club) that day, so we had the option of trying to rebook for the following day or just letting it go. We had backup appointments at Walgreens for tomorrow, so we said we would not rebook. Not fifteen minutes later, we got a text saying our appointment had been rescheduled to 5pm and asking us to confirm the time. I still wonder if the phone agent heard my disappointment and worked something on the backend, but in any case, it was a very easy experience. I walked the nurse through navigating the Beach Club entrance via phone and then she did the test for me and my mom in our room. She said that she had tested only Canadians at various Disney resorts today! She expected the results to be back within 24-36 hours. Overall, it was a super easy process, except for learning the fact that appointments are always tentative and pending availability, so they should not be considered “confirmed” until the actual text comes through from the tech assigned to you that day.

They should really make that clear when booking a lot of us depend on those to get home. I guess I know to book a backup for Walgreens. How did you cancel your Walgreens appointment?

HUGE thanks to everyone who has posted on this thread and other threads about their BeeperMD experiences; both the +'s & -'s. Much like anything these days, decisions on what's best for you and your family come down to doing research and feedback from others. With all the info posted the last couple of weeks, we will NOT be using BeeperMD. While the Pro's of them coming to you and it's free are most AMAZING...the Con's are too many for us to consider them. The 2 hour booking window that doesn't get confirmed until day of (which then could also change to a time outside of that 2hrs?) and now finding out that all appointments are only tentative...coupled with waiting ~30hrs for your results; it's a no for us. While I'm the first to admit that PassportHealth is STUPID expensive, it's still the top choice for us (based purely on experience with them and the fact that if I could use the NAAT test from Walmart for work, we would be going that route). I've had my Oct appointment booked for a couple of months now, first of the day -- car service booked to take me there (she's taken me there multiple times and knows the layout/routine), they are professional & efficient and while they guarantee results in under 24hrs all of my tests have come back btw 4-8 hrs (there's no way I would be able to have a decent nights sleep wondering about my test results and hoping I get them soon). And I also have a breakfast ADR booked 50min after the start of my appointment since I know the timing it takes (of course traffic could change that but hasn't been the case so far). Again, everything these days is a personal choice and I'm happy to hear everyone who has posted on here, that their testing experience worked out for them in the end.

I'm glad this worked out for you! My cousin is at the Poly this week. Same as you, she never received a text the morning of. Yet when she called, she was told no one would come and that their appointments are not guaranteed. Needless to say, they ended up paying a LOT of money to get a same day test done in order to fly home as a result.

There is a link in the Walgreens confirmation email to modify or cancel…it’s super easy :).

We just received our test results via email from BeeperMD, 28 hours after collection. I think for our next trip, I will do the same and book a backup at Walgreens but try for the in-house option and if it works out, great; if not, we will do Walgreens the following day.

I think only the 2 hr window is tentative, I initially booked with it but then wanted to change the time but couldn’t so rebooked for the one hour appointment and paid $30. When I did the 2 hr one it said tentative but when I redid it paying it said scheduled so I’m hoping that making that payment actually confirms it.

When they come to the resort for the test, do they pay for parking and pass it on to you? (Asking because the form asks)
