many have reported all WDW reservation locations have been lenient with times, specifically at SWGE Savi's is the only one where it's a bit more problematic
So just showing up at Oga's after rez time and saying I was stuck on RoTR? Never mind. As I think this through, it's just best if I talk to GET if its an issue. I'm not willing to gamble on assumptions. (and I can't figure out how to delete my reply!)

you can do that, or go before heading into RotR. You have 2 hours to get to RotR so the chance of it impacting an Oga's reservation is pretty slim

Today was the day! Left our room at the Boardwalk at 6:02. At bag check at 6:17. Through in less than 5 minutes. Tapping in was longer, but we were in the park a minute or two before 6:40. Got to explain the process to a few women behind us who though they would just be getting in line for the ride!

Anyway, all to say that at crunch time I was ready and nervous, but thanks to everyone here, I scored boarding group 3!!!!!! I was shocked! I think I screamed.

And the ride was amazing!!!!!
Did you walk from Boardwalk to HS? We’ll be at the Boardwalk soon, and I was wondering how long it would take to walk vs the boat. Thanks!

I walked when I stayed there for NYE. It was about a 10 min walk once outside by the main pool on the dvc side.

Walking is usually much faster, particularly for us, as we are usually in standard view villas at or past the quiet pool. I don't think we have ever gone toward the boat dock to even check. Super easy walk.

I see some people taking about parts of the experience being down and getting the “B” version. Without spoilers...if you’ve never been on before, how would you know? If I get the B, I’d like to know so I can try again another day and experience the full thing. But if I get the complete experience, I’m cool not going through this BG chaos again for a while. When you board, do they tell you you’re getting a limited experience (that doesn’t seem likely)? Or is it just chatter in the streets of multi-riders after the fact.

If you had absolutely no idea what to expect, I don’t think you’d realize you saw the B mode effect. Think of it this way, how many people ride Expedition Everest with no idea what that yeti was actually designed to do?

The part that has been reported as being skipped on rare occasions(not just different/missing effects), I think you would notice that without having to be told.

There’s a thread in the SWGE forum here with ride spoilers. After you ride you can pop in there and ask or read back a bit to figure it out.

I am sorry, but I am confused. Is it a 1 hour window now or still the 2 hour window? Thanks!

Yep. The $4.25 bottles of Dasani water with the fancy Galaxy’s Edge labeling, bananas, small bags of Lays potato chips, and boxes of popcorn. All complimentary. We each got a bottle of water and a bag of chips.

not that I want to be one that is stuck for 2-3 hours ... but part of me would welcome being in liek a 30-40 minute delay and get to experience that and one of the characters coming through and stuff.

OK, it's getting real. Prepping everything so I don't have to do anything in the morning other than stumble out of bed and into the car, to meet my 3:15 AM departure. Should be 3 hours on the road, so I will have a little bit of a bumper. Wish me luck!

both

oh, more explanation ... it can be either 1 hour or 2 hours at this point. It appears that the very first groups are only 1 hour to encourage peopel to fill up the queue faster rather than waiting to the end of a 2 hour window and then also at the end of the day to space out return times more. mid-day is still 2 hours. You find out when you are notified your BG has been called

It can be either; you won't know till you are called.

Reports seem to be it is 1 hour early and late in the day, 2 hours in the middle.

My son was in line for a ride and was going to miss his Oga reservation in 25 minutes. He texted me to see if I could change it. I couldn’t online, but called the dining reservation number. The CM on the phone said he had 15 minutes after the reservation to check in. After that he would be able to get in, but on standby. She also checked changing it. The soonest time she could rebook was one hour out.

Walked. Left our room at 6:02 and our room is a haul from the elevators. It’s an easy, great walk, if you’re able bodied.

We are way to the other side of the regular rooms, and it was still a great walk. I think we would have done it even if the boat was there. I think the time is the same, and it helps justify that Ronto wrap later!
