I personally think only phones within a certain distance (small, like 1/2-mile) of the park should be eligible for obtaining BGs, but it appears that is not a popular opinion. Then again, there are very easy ways to circumvent that, too.

But why? Just something else to glitch, for what gain? In all likelihood the small number of people who actually do this would have secured a BG that day anyways, maybe a few groups back.

It doesn’t even always work, people have reported the in park guest successful first.

Sure. But this is a theme park ride. It’s not life and death. No one’s life will be ruined if they can’t go on it. Everyone just needs perspective.

of course it's not life or death ... but when you have months leading up to something, spreadsheets outlining days, and are spending thousands of dollars, it's going to lead to some level stress.

There are degrees to stress - it's not the same level of stress as a cancer diagnosis or anything - but stress nonetheless

Granted, might just be my personality as I stress about logistics all the time and play out everything that can go wrong and am always 2 hours early to everything "just in case"

The vast majority are getting their groups from inside the park. The few that are getting help from outside don’t affect much, and they’d still be getting a group anyways. This would just be unnecessary without any real positive gain.

I understand it's not as easy as getting to the park and getting in line, I'm not blaming anyone on being stress im just saying that you don't accomplish anything by being stressed. All of you here are way better prepared, ands you will, most likely, get a bg when you visit

yeah, just need you to tell my brain to work differently :D

I get stressed and hyperventilate when I think about missing a train or have to call someone I don't know or all sorts of things

I know this was mentioned in the old thread, but I'm here at DHS and came to Launch Bay to see the new "meet the makers" movie, it has a lot of spoilers for RotR. So heads up. Also inside Walt Disney presents there are models of some elements from RotR
can you shed any light on the M&G in Launch Bay... specifically if Chewie is still meeting? The app only shows wait times for Vader and BB8 for a few weeks now. Seems to coincide with ROTR opening...

LOL We are also not staying on property so we can't take advantage of the 60 day FP+ booking window for the other rides. Anyways - I guess we'll just see what happens
First day it was open i was able to switch FPs around. We have APHs that burn a hole in our pockets :). We’ve done multiple last minute weekend trips when i’ve Found $27 flights on Spirit, i’m Talking a week or so out and was able to work things out just fine re FP.

Not by choice, but my DS hasn’t bought his tix yet...we arrive next tuesday. It will be interesting. i’m Sure we will miss a few Etix rides but still have a great time.
Does anyone know how busy the Tuesday is after MLK day? I plan to be at HS on 21st at 7am. Really hoping the crowds will be lower as I've read it is typically the weekend prior to it that is busy.
Back to normal. In the past for both that weekend, Pres Day, Memorial & Labor, my experience is it starts to get busy on Friday (sometimes Thursday to a degree) & by Tuesday is back to seasonal norm. Columbus Day, not so anymore. Whole week prior seems more crowded every year to point we moved that annual trip back a week.
You should. Granted, it's my last choice but lots can only use WiFi. I believe non-US guests are often on WiFi only, and there are LOTS of non-US guests at Disney.

Another thing to check, before groups open for sign up, that you are signed in to your MDE account. I find it signs me out all on it's own, all the time. It will look like I'm signed in but if I click on something that has personal info, like my Resort balance page or even to modify a FP, it takes me to the Sign in Page.
I have the new iphone, ATT & the worst wifi at WDW. App rarely works, frustrating. Wind up turning off wifi when there
Work with what you get. With a 2 hour return window it shouldn't be too hard to make things work.
Depends, I have concerns this go-round re having Oga’s & Savi booked. Only snagged them on one/same day. they are back to back 11:30 am & then 12:45 pm. Also, ADRs booked every single day.

Will be trying up to bitter end to switch things around though Savi’s having res issues all day.

Would be nice if they would remove no show fees if it coincides thusly

I think the intent was to deter like you said, but not to have people outside the park booking ride reservations for people in the park. That's what FP+ is for.

It's just an interesting question to me...I hear you and would just say that 1) it feels cheeky (to me) to have relatives and friends on their couches with coffee jamming on MDE for me and 2) there is no doubt that gives me an advantage over other people in the park standing next to me.

But it's a good idea and hey maybe I'll do it! I use all the tricks lol and always have!
The thing you are missing is not being in the park can of make it slightly harder to get the exact timing down. You can hear announcements and stuff. Not that you should wait on one but you have a much better handle on when they’ll open it up when you are boots on the ground. Someone biking at home is not an advantage so much as just another person trying. If you are not limited to WiFi it’s probably no help at all

Oga and Savi are not going to bother things with you having a 2 hour return window. You will have time for all 3

plus oga is really petty easy to snag. They popped up everyday of my Christmas week trip

Woohoo, I'll be heading back to Disney on Jan 31st. I was there for ROTR opening day so I'm excited to ride it again. Sounds like the rules have changed - you can arrive early but you can't get a boarding pass until the park's scheduled opening time & they're sticking to that?

IDK If Savi takes us on time. Maybe. Have read reports of wait times.

Oga, out of 5 visits, waited up to 20 min past reserved time to be seated 3 different times.

Dinner is at BWV venues. Boat can easily take 1/2 hour each way, add in ADR wait for table & dining time, easily can blow thru 2 hours.

Apologies to the marathon runners here :), but life is not a race. Don’t want to rush thru any of the experiences YMMV

Again, i’m Just wondering if anybody has seen any anecdotal info on how conflicts that arise on the day are handled as to assessing fees.

No worries, it'll be fine. Once you join a BG, then think about it.

If it looks like your BG might come around noon, then go to Savi's or a GET CM asap to help you move it earlier/later (earlier works better because mornings are slower there, especially with the opening being pulled earlier). They want to make it work for you, just ask them what your options are. You'll still have Oga's, but that won't cause an issue with the 2 hr RoR window.

Chances are that you won't need to move anything tho.

There is no way they will charge you a fee if you are stuck on your ride. Just speak to them at the park or your resort

I still believe you will have time

savi will take you on time. It is a show, not individual. They take reservations for 12, or whatever it is that fits on the room, at the same time. The wait is designed on purpose to give participants time to check in and pick their guild/type of saber

walk to BWI. You’ll be MUCH faster than a boat. 15 min tops, from turnstile to restaurant

As of right now, yes. But things change . . .

Not the pace i walk lol. Stopped that practice 10 years ago. Dinner res are at @ YC & BC, bit more of a trek

As many other have discovered, going with allotting 3 days to increase our odds for party to try & ride. Only issue is if we do miss it, then will have to pay to add PH to the one tix. It’s all good:).

Sounds great! I have a few different friends going to WDW soon and that was my main advice. Plan a back-up morning (or 2 :) ). I'd expect to ride the first day. You'll still probably want to do again the 2nd day anyway, RoR is fantastic.

If someone is booking for someone in the park, in all likelihood that same person would have secured a BG because they are Disney educated enough to even consider it as an option.

I don’t see someone booking outside the park bringing this any closer to FP+. It really doesn’t change much of anything.

So much could still go wrong even with having someone outside book the BG.
