Copper Creek Villas & Cabins Opening July 2017

I like the lighter interiors except for the sofa which I think will not.hold up well. I would not equate the furniture with iKea....some pieces seem very nice.....take a look at the headboard in the 1 bdrm pic.....looks like a sliced log.....have to wait and see on a tour to really make up my mind.....

Can someone clear up the pools for me. Is there only one water slide, the dinky short one that was there when we visited this past summer? Or does the newer pool have its own larger water slide?

Well, I was hoping to modify my Boulder Ridge studio reservation to a Copper Creek studio, but we need the Murphy bed. Here is hoping that some of you modify your September reservations at Disney's Polynesian Villas and Bungalows! :D

The plans do not seem to have a slide going into the new pool.

The 3BR Villa looks fantastic, and of course the Cabins look incredible. Looking at the Points/$$$ costs, they ought to be. Looking forward to hearing how nice they really are. Unfortunately it most likely will never be my own review...

My husband and I have not paid attention to the changes at the DVC at Fort Wilderness. We saw the cabins being added, knew about redoing the pool and adding a pool bar. Now after reading this I am confused, did they remodel the current DVC bldg? Or Did they build another DVC bldg. I knew about the name change but after reading on the official DVC site the interpretation is DVC is all brand new at this location and I know there has been a DVC bldg there for awhile. The theming was rustic mountain style. On the DVC web site they are pushing this as a brand new DVC addition. Wasn't this location sold out years ago with availability to buy pts from resale and Disney buying back contracts. How is this affecting the existing owners? We have Saratoga Springs and Bay Lake as our home resorts. Thank you for any replies that can explain what is happening at the "Copper Ridge" / former Ft. Wilderness DVC.

The new rooms are modified lodge room in the original Wilderness Lodge. Like they did at AK Jambo.

The old VWL is still there and nothing changed with that building other than the name - Boulder Ridge.

The new Copper Creek villas is a new and separate DVC addition and is made up of approx 1/2 of converted rooms from the Wilderness Lodge hotel and the new cabins along Bay Lake.

Okay, possibly a silly question: Are there connecting studios at Copper Creek, or just studio to one bedroom connections like in most locations?

The only connecting rooms will be 1BRs and studios that make up 2BR lock-offs. There is a vary small number, estimated at 7, of rooms called Alternate Studios, which are studios with two rooms with a queen in the bedroom and the pull-out couch in the second room. They are not a separate booking category

Just noticed that the description of the 1BR villas lists a "Full bathroom with whirlpool spa". Given what happened in the BCV refurb, I was wondering whether they would put a whirlpool tub in Copper Creek and it appears that they did!
On a different web page, they state that the 1BRs have a "sleek bubble-jet tub". I'm guessing that is correct and the other information stating "whirlpool tub" is incorrect, based on recent construction and refurbishments. The bubble jet info appears here: https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/destinations/list/florida/copper-creek-villas-and-cabins/

I too think the studio and 1bd look too light and modern. Maybe after all the complaints of other resorts like AKV being too dark they went the extreme opposite way. Too bad. These rooms look like Bay Lake Tower with a Wilderness lodge overlay. GV and cabins look great though.

Agreed. The studio reminds me of some of the contemporary, eco-friendly hotels that can be found throughout Western Europe.

It is confusing. First of all, the original Villas at Wilderness Lodge are at the Lodge, not the Fort. They are located in a building next to the Wilderness Lodge hotel, behind the bus stop. There were plans a few years ago for a DVC at Fort Wilderness but that resort never got beyond the design stage.

The new Copper Creek resort occupies one wing of the Wilderness Lodge hotel. Disney converted the hotel rooms in that wing to DVC villas. They also built cabins along the lake.

Now that there are two DVC resorts at Wilderness Lodge, to reduce confusion (and you can see how well that's working!) they changed the name of the original DVC resort from The Villas at Wilderness Lodge to Boulder Ridge Villas.

Gonna go against the grain here and say I absolutely love the decor. I love that it's a modern take on wilderness. BLT doesn't interest me because it just seems kind of boring, resort wide, but I love the decor of the rooms. CCV has both wonderful hotel theming and modern decor.

Can't wait to stay here!

I like the decor of the rooms for the most part too. I'm sure I will enjoy staying here.

I'm also glad the studios and 1 bedrooms only sleep 4. Luckily there are other resorts that sleep 5 in those categories for those who need it.
