Options other than lanyards

I know without asking that my DH will refuse a lanyard. Other options for park passes, EP, room key? I'm thinking just in a wallet and taking it out at every ride?? Is it really that inconvenient?

Probably.

But if he won't wear a lanyard he won't have many other options.

So everyone wears them? Isn't there upside down rides where they could fall off?

You just tuck them in your shirt on those rides. You'll only really need your express pass available. Maybe he can tie the lanyard to a belt loop and keep it in his pocket so everything is easily accessible.

This is what I did...if you carry a wallet you have to put it in a locker on several of the coasters as you cant carry anything other than the lanyard

I like the belt loop idea. I knew about carrying on cell phones and such but you can't have your wallet in your back pocket, even a pocket that closes? How would anyone know, your sitting on it?!

They send you through a metal detector and they are pretty thorough.
If they notice it there is a good chance they will tell you to put it in a locker - so better to be prepared .

There is a thread that talks about this - start on page 9 IMO

I've worn clip on plastic sleeves that attached to a belt loop. You'd have to unclip it every time you needed it, but it would be faster than digging a card out of a wallet.

My hubby also refused to wear a lanyard. He just kept his room key and ticket in his wallet. He kept the EP his cargo shorts pocket.

I use the plastic part of the lanyard and keep it in my pocket. Its convenient that the EP can be scanned without taking it out of the sleeve. I keep it in my back pocket so I'm basically sitting on it for every ride.

As another poster offered, we put two Express passes into a single lanyard in the parks facing outwards. It is only an issue if you split up.

The tickets only need to come out when entering the parks (including Hogwarts Express), so those can easily go in a wallet.

Opinions are always relative though. Many guests happily make choices that don't appeal to us.

OP: just curious: what does he dislike about lanyards? I'd never go without one!

Stuff around his neck. He just would hate it.

Did you guys go to wdw when they had keycards and ticket cards? If so what did he do?

DH uses a wallet. He likes his hufflepuff lanyard but he doesn't wear it. If he didn't want the wallet and refused a lanyard then I would put his cards in my lanyard and dole them out as needed. I have a Ravenclaw lanyard with a big hard plastic waterproof case. Witz brand. Holds it all. :)

We've been to WDW but it was long ago, he must of used his wallet, I have no recollection of lanyards!!!

To each their own, but lanyards are so convenient. One day I had 4 lanyards on at the same time (1 with 2 express passes, another 1 with 2 express passes, Photoconnect card, and one with my credit card, ID, room key, and cash). I just tuck all lanyards in my shirt and enjoy the ride.

Interesting that you don't remember lanyards! While we weren't going to wdw at the time, lanyards and pins were huge at dlr even 10 years ago and it felt like everyone wore them.
