What are we missing on Main Street?

We've never "toured" Main Street. We always do rope drop, so coming in we are in a mad dash for rides. Leaving, we are usually so tired and just want to sit down. Other than Casey's, I don't think we've been in any of the stores. Is it just shopping? What are your favorite things on Main Street?

Agree with PP.. the glassblowing.. It is really interesting. Plus I could spend so much time looking at the pieces in that shop.
We always do MK on our first and last days. The first day we do not do any Main Street "touring". But on our last day we usually spend anywhere from 2 to 3 hours going in the shops after finishing up what we couldn't get done on day 1. ..watching the glassblowing..and just taking it all in.

Wow! That looks fascinating! I'm going to check that out in April!

I'm usually traveling with DH and kids, and they don't usually let me go in the shops unless we need something specific- or like you said, @southernbelle20, we're all too tired on the way out! Looking forward to looking around about on my spring trip with my sisters!

The shops also offer an escape from the sun/rain and temperatures. We went in April once and it what they said was a "freak" heat wave and being able to go in and look around helped us survive the heat.

As for the glass shop. been there 3 times..have yet to buy the first piece.. LOL.. but I wouldn't miss it.

The live glass blowing, checking out all the paintings and small figurines, then of course you have a bunch of shopping for clothes and jewelry for ladies.

There is a guy who hand cuts silhouettes on the "side street". If you're heading to the castle from the entrance, he's on your right, about 1/2 way down the street. It's really inexpensive and we will cherish that forever. We did the 3 of us. We got a copy and I framed it for my mom for Christmas.

The Plaza ice cream shop has a peanut butter sauce that will knock you down. It's so amazing.

I also second Tink. Great meet n great.

I just enjoy escaping crowds on Main Street and/or weather... you can walk inside starting at Caseys and end up at the opposite of the street... I've purchased some very pretty glass pieces at the glassblowing area. And I like to look st the jewelry pieces as well. Many pieces at MK cannot be found elsewhere. Enjoy

Go upstairs by the train station platform and take a seat a one of the few tables to watch Main Street. I personally love it there for the night parade. ( have to snag a table early to do that)
Go into Main Street Confectionery. SUGAR HEAVEN!
Watch a street performance. Times vary.
Sit with your SUGAR delicacy outside of Tony's.
Watch the Flag retreat.
Enter the stores- always fun to look!!

I enjoy Main Street. The Legend's Windows, The Mayor, Fire Chief and all the other cast members who do a great job entertaining.

One of my favorite statues is Roy and Minnie. I always try to stop by an remember it was two brothers we have to thank.

Now with rope drop being moved to the hub maybe more people will enjoy Main Street too.

Well, yes, shopping! :p

We found a great Haunted Mansion print last time, the artist was there signing I think. Now framed in our kitchen, love it! Bought a pretty scarf for my mother.
This time I'm looking forward to looking for a Pandora charm for my new bracelet.

I know it's just shopping, but somehow it feels different there...

I'm bookmarking this thread for my MK day in just under three weeks! I had no idea these things existed, and I've taken time to go into the Main Street shops!

We usually stop by the confectionery at least once per visit, and not necessarily to buy any candy. It's just interesting to see the open kitchen and how they make things like toffee bars, Mickey caramel apples, and more.
