I hadn't heard that but I could see how it could make sense.
See above.
I see we have similar parenting styles!!!

Well, I don't want to know.... here.
PM your answer. (We'll make this a bit tougher.)
Posting here will result in penalties!
I'd never heard of mirepoix.... and... yes, that's what I put in.
I'll also add salt and pepper, maybe a bouillon cube or two but possibly not,
macaroni noodles (because if I use any other noodles,
Kay will revolt. And there's nothing worse than a revolting child.)
and a handful of rice.
And if I had my way, I'd throw some chopped tomatoes
in there too... but neither kid likes that.
(But that's the way my Grandma made it!! )
Nope.
Husky Uplifted Vehicle.
flAnd the hotels...
And the car rentals....
And Uni....
And food.....
And the crappy exchange rate
(Take what it costs and multiply
it by 1.35... ouch.)
Plus add on the $2,000 or so
for Kay's trip to Cuba
(with the school band) in February......
You're taking the fun out of this!!
What?!?!? Where's the new one!?!?
Well, I wouldn't know of course.
Did the one in DCA have the fire
breathing dragon that heated the air?
Or the part where the seats rise up
about ten feet or so?
I thought so. Not a lot of real estate in there.
One of the reasons (apart from hunger)
that I went early.
I should put out another update then.
Just to keep you going.
I was afraid of that...
Wait... you stay at the GF??
Huh! I just assumed you drove.
Thanks for the tip!
I don't know if we'll be able to get to it
(maybe.... maybe not)
but I'm putting it on the list.
I'll see what Kay says.
Also on the list.
In n Out burger (I think that's it?)
Chicken and waffles
(Not my thing... but Kay might want it.)
In n Out is good. can be LONG lines, but they make fresh when you order. And their fries!!
chicken and waffles sound good! I don't have a specific place to go to get that. I could ask my cousin. If you want.
Thanks for the tip!

Five Guys is barf.
I already tried to sell you on this one.
So, I remembered that I used to go to Tommy's quite a bit. I'd be up for finding one of those for sure! Also, PMing you about some other thoughts on things. Hopefully, tomorrow...
Nice!!!!Funny thing is that there are Roscoe's, In-N-Out, AND Tommy's all near my house!
Frankly I wish some would leave...There are a lot of people
just on the other side of that border
who promised to come here
if certain events transpired...
and that doesn't seem to have happened.
Talk is cheap, no?
Looks like fun! I know you're doing it for Kay, but I hope you might be able to work more than 1 day at DL.No details yet, but probably only one day in DL.
And sometime between March 24 - 30.
Cry me a river you entitled brat. And waited an inexcusable nine minutes...
NINE!!!!
... for the bus.
I know some guys who never wear shorts unless they're at a pool. I'm not one, but they're out there. And I did see some guys wearing jeans.
Really? Are your legs that bad?
Or twenty...I guess nine or ten minutes
during a non-prime-time part
of the travel day isn't bad.
Could've been worse.
Could've been..... eleven.
I also struck up a conversation
with a very nice young couple
dressed as Tom Hanks and Geena Davis
from A League of Their Own.
Well played. I was going to post a meme, but you beat me to the punchline.I would've sat down and cried
and there's no crying in line.
KarmaHmmm.... maybe deluge isn't good enough.
Fire hose.
Multiple. Large. Fire hoses.
Um... well, you seem to have handled it better than I probably would have.I had no idea what she was talking about.
"What?"
"I have an autograph book. Will it get wet?"
"I don't know. Where's your book?"
"It's under here." She gestured to her poncho.
"In my lap."
Of course, as I conversed with her,
I was now turned away from the relative
shelter of the overhang and all hope of
any part of me staying dry was extinguished.
"Your book is under your poncho?"
I dumbly mumbled.
"Yes." She said. "Will it be dry?"
I see what you did there... well played. He didn't recognize my costume.
I let it go.
They said. "Are you... Weasel Town?"
I immediately replied "That's Weselton!"
You just don't want to do that much math.I told you no one came close.
You're lucky I like you people.
Deductions will not be forthcoming.
Those are still better than any I've taken.I hesitated quite a bit
before posting those.
There are a crapton
of better fireworks pictures
out there.
Nothing to be mortified about. It happens. You recognized it and moved. There are others who would do it intentionally and suddenly not speak English.I was totally mortified.
I hadn't even noticed her.
I apologized profusely
and moved farther back.
I checked with the woman
in the ECV and made sure
I wasn't blocking her view at all.
I wasn't.
Still.... dumb move on my part.
Too focused on the task at hand
I suppose.
I took the shirt off and....
The top half or so of my shorts
were now (permanently, I later discovered)
dyed... pink.
So glad they were the only pair I'd packed...
AGAIN!!
Seriously? Why?One thousand, one hundred and fifty feet.
I took this photo after about an hour
of shoveling.
I've shoveled up to the point where I took the photo.
It's a good movie, but that's some dedication going to see it after all you'd been through.I know I went to see Rogue 1 that night.
I even stayed awake through it.
I think I got a good six hour sleep that night.
Ironically, most people forget December 31.December 29
I don't remember it.
Or a whole heck of a lot of the 30th.
Been there, done that.I arrived at the park after an uneventful bus ride.
Sure, there was that little incident where
the bus swerved off the road and flipped into
a canal and alligators swarmed us.
But that's pretty standard stuff for Florida.
Cool!I'd never heard before, nor expected to ever hear,
a lion roaring.
But the male in the picture above was doing just that.
Well, that depends. Are we talking real boyfriends or for show? I heard she's in the closet. We drove on, so I didn't hear how many
boyfriends Mary had or has.
Bonus points. How many did she have do you think?
Nah, more like a massage. And the reason I had thought I'd never see it?
The poke in the back (I was afraid of hurting my back)
was very mild and not painful at all.
(Indeed, this is what convinced me to see it.
Even with my sore back, I had decided that Disney
wouldn't risk injuring its guests.)
That's a ringing endorsement for Harambe Market.I'd love to say that it was great, but...
meh
You screwed up, just missed a bus and it was still only 14 minutes???? You suck.I arrived at the stop at 11:45,
the next bus showed up at 11:59.
Fourteen minutes.
That'll learn me to take a wrong turn!

It's gotta be hard in a situation like this when you're so close to DL and it isn't like you get to go there all that often. But very noble of you.I do a lot for my girls.
Which is what a father is supposed to do.
And one thing I will not do,
is impose my will on her present.
Again, totally understand. DW isn't into it at all. I actually will only try to meet up with someone if I'm by myself. If I'm walking through the park with the family and see someone... well I'm not really stuck up but I'm not going to stop and say anything. She knows that I have friends who've
wanted to meet me for a while now.
She gets that.
And she's said she was okay with it.
But....
A small get together is okay.... once.
I'm a. Not going to impose more than one meet on her. And;
b. not going to thrust her into a large group setting either.
So... While I will be meeting a few DISers....
I unfortunately won't be able to meet more.
I've heard of Clearman's Galley, never been there. San Gabriel, Arcadia, etc is a good hours drive from Anaheim....just sayin'
Eh, true, but if they might be over that way, it may be not too bad to stop by. When/if given the chance between In-N-Out or the Boat, I choose the boat each time! Their burgers are SO GOOD!!! Both are delicious, but the Boat gets my vote every time. lol
If you are ever able to go, you wont regret it.
I miss Cali so much! Makes me want a trip back so badly now
I've shoveled up to the point where I took the photo.
The only (and very much last) time I went to 5 Guys there was a big, long hair in my burger. It went in the trash. And I never went back.
Gross.
