Hi Liesa. Prayers for our Lindsay and family are needed. They found out last night Her little brother committed suicide. He was 22 and had everything going for him. So sad. They had driven to Galveston with 3 of the kids for a cheer weekend. Had to make arrangements and drive through the night to come back here and hop on a flight to Reno where the police are picking them up for a treturous drive through the mountains to Klamath. Stepdad is a Sherrif deputy.

We have become mom and dad to 6 kids for the week, and will need to try to keep up with our jobs. Our church family has been amazing and supportive already, offering meals and help with the kids.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, Tammie! Praying for your whole family.

Trying to get caught up around here. But agreed - the late night choices of available munchies do need some improvement!

So, I'm a slacker. Lame. Sorry!

Yep.

Tree's still up. Haven't grocery shopped in ohhh... maybe 2 weeks. (Ramen again, Kids?) And there's no end in sight today. Physical Therapy, research for the Africa Trip proposal (2 million bucks is nothing to trifle with- and, "You need suturing kits? Yeah, sorry, let me find a surgeon who will give me 10 minutes and ask. LOLOLOL!") Add to that a touch of S.A.D. that I tend to get every winter and you get TRSS- Trip Report Slacker Syndrome.

Hopefully soon.

The good news is that the next update IS written and the fact that there is only one photo in it made it easy. Just waiting for the rest of the photo guesses to roll in before moving on. :)

Consider this your 24-48 hour warning....

What's with that?!?!? Get to work, woman!!!

Ohhhhh.... That explains all those posts on FB from your kids asking for food.

Whoa. So you have your hands pretty full.
Seriously, don't worry about the TR. We'll be here when you can spare the time. No worries.

The good news is that the next update IS written and the fact that there is only one photo in it made it easy. Just waiting for the rest of the photo guesses to roll in before moving on. :)

Wait..... the thing's written?!?!!?

When did you have time to do that?!?!? Time warp???

images

Time? What is this "time" you refer to?

OH, nothing. Must be something I don't know of either.

I peck everything into my iPod.
Then wonder what it was I pecked.
I have stuff in 2 places: Phone and notebook. Phone notes are scarce, book is... at points illegible.

Don't mind me. Still burning off those sleepy drugs.

I tell my patients:

24-36 hours to entirely leave system, therefore:

No driving;
No alcohol;
No activities that will require skill or concentratation;
Don't sign any legal papers;
Stay away from the casino, I swear you'll lose your shirt;
No pre-nups!!;
And unless you want REALLY bad things to happen stay out of Taco Bell and Pizza Hut.

DL TOT anyone?

Full and complete rant in next update. You got ahead of me. ;)

Actually... I didn't have a single one until after I got home.... from Alberta.

Well, that's certainly impressive self-control. I went home without one single piece (didn't do any trails), but I have an unlimited supply of Halloween-sized crap at work all day long. (I've eaten exactly 4 pieces to date in 6 months).

Not possible. Max 20 minutes. I know.

It may have arrived sooner, I was timing stuff from when we got ON the buses (but in this case, I honestly DO think it truly was 23 minutes). I very distinctly remember sitting on the ground in line Indian-style, my feet screaming for mercy. We'd been going strong from 7- midnight. I remember ECVs being loaded and that always takes a while.

From now on.... Nothing but boring TRs!

Oh yeah, right. Spare me.

Thanks, just a couple that I quickly did without too much worrying about finesse.

Mad skilz, Boy!

What's with that?!?!? Get to work, woman!!!

About to get very busy. In 3....2....1....

Oops, I'm still here.

(Pretty sure that tree in there is going to take care of itself.)

Ohhhhh.... That explains all those posts on FB from your kids asking for food.

I'm a pretty efficient scroller-througher.

Whoa. So you have your hands pretty full.
Seriously, don't worry about the TR. We'll be here when you can spare the time. No worries.

I worry far more about getting behind everywhere else.

Wait..... the thing's written?!?!!?

When did you have time to do that?!?!? Time warp???

It's short, all all words with one photo. No PB nonsense this time.

Ok, now. Confession time.

Let's return, now Ladies and Gentlemen to 1984, shall we? Liesa, in her Junior year of high school (Please spare yourselves the pain of doing the math, which would reveal my true age. The facts (that, I've in full disclosure, fabricated because I'm too wussy to face certain realities) have been established as true as far as you should heretofore consider. 39 and (not) counting. She has a solid group of core friends who mostly considered a smoking hot Friday night as studying for AP Art History or Biology. We might hot tub or make a Naugles (local fast food Mexican) run before we hit AP American Lit. Nerds to the max. Whatever, it paid off, we're all in professional careers and contributing to the national economy.

BUT, we did go sailing quite often, shopped at Seaport Village in San Diego regularly, and generally had a ton of fun.

We also....

Went to the Rocky Horror Picture Show multiple times that year. We were THOSE people. We threw the rice, ate and threw the toast, and yes, much to my utterly fond memories, actually knew AND DANCED The Time Warp in the aisle.

I'd do it again tomorrow too.

:laughing: Glad to hear your methods are so much better.... not!

That applies at all times, doesn't it?

Uh, oh!

Not bad!!! You too have impressive self control!

Oh yeah, right. Spare me.

So you're saying you're unsubscribing?

Mad skilz, Boy!

Nah. Just quick copy pastes.

(Pretty sure that tree in there is going to take care of itself.)

It will if you give it enough time. Or a woodpecker. Or beaver.

I'm a pretty efficient scroller-througher.

Not I. I fail at FB.

I worry far more about getting behind everywhere else.

Nah. No worries. It can all wait.

I'd do it again tomorrow too.

While I have no idea what a "Naugles" might be....

I've never seen the movie.
Kay did, in a theatre with rice throwing, etc... but not I.

Well... since you mentioned it... oh. You said "stop".... dang.

Oopsies, I wrote a chapter instead of building LR skills. Move along... No moon shots to see here.

Thank you - love hearing singing groups, and being in choirs if I can as well.

Me too! A capella is the bomb diggity! Any harmonizing is great!

Glad you got some food - I also was unprepared during MVMCP for the lack of solid food available, and Cosmic Ray's was where we filled up as well.

I found the lack of food options.. disturbing.

Also, Phantom > Les Mis in my books...

HEY!! Whose side are you on?!

Two against one! We win!!!! Woot!

Phantom-of-the-Opera-phantom-opera-mask-smiley-emoticon-000716-huge.png

Fine. You two run along and play.

Trying to get caught up around here. But agreed - the late night choices of available munchies do need some improvement!

See!? I'm not the only one! Glad you're back, Kathy!

Remember the 25 people over for Thanksgiving? It was fun! So fun that I've been elected (read, "Hey, we'll all be over!") for Christmas too. That means finding sleeping arrangements for at least 6, and hosting 20 again for 3 or 4 consecutive days. Not complaining, just takes a lot of time and effort.
Liesa Griswold! I hope you had the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny *$#@&^% Kaye!

I'd heard from multiple sources about the Tangled Tinkle Area, and no, it did not disappoint. Simply endearing.
Be honest. Who would have ever thought you'd get this excited about a restroom?

Seriously, a truly enjoyable flight cut all too short by reaching our destination.
That definitely sounds interesting. Nice when you can meet and chat with someone like that. And bonus points for learning something useful!

Planning on a little time at DTD, hit up the parks for a couple of days, and spend some time visiting with Alison and Fran. (Hi, @franandaj !!) The other for sure player in this is @pkondz and I do believe that @queenbetsey will try to make it out as well.
Sounds like it should be a lot of fun!

Because my inner-MORON happens occasionally, I agreed to work today. I've had over 20 people in my house for 3 days, more or fewer than that for 4. I am tired.

No. I'm exhausted.
Or maybe you just realized you needed to get away from home for a few hours and work was your respite.

I frantically fiddled with my settings. By now though, everything I'd tried to memorize earlier about parade photography was gone as a wash of panic swept over me. Closer, closer, clip, clop, clip clop. Clooooser.

Crap, Crap, CRAP!!

Well, I can tell who it is... :rolleyes1

Sorry it didn't work out better. I've never tried but from what I've seen, he's hard to photograph just based on the lighting and the fact that he's moving so fast. I'm not sure it matters how ready you are. It's probably luck more than anything.

There always has to be a personal favorite of the bunch. THIS one is IT! Hot diggity. Score!

That really is a cool picture!

Once certain... products... are legal for recreational use in Florida, I think Disney could cash in on an Alice in Wonderland themed establishment and really rake in some income.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

And then just think of how many corn dog nuggets they'd sell! My Disney stock will go through the roof!

There ya have it. A veritable explosion of fireworks and castle photos that ought to keep you indulged for a while.
Awesome! Thank you. I even enjoyed the beautiful light pole.

And now a New Year's Toast:
Dang, I've missed 2 holidays.

I KNOW! I know just the thing to strike fear in the hearts of every young teen (and DISDad) in all of Queen's Steppedom.
I know where this is headed...

And I kind of feel honored that the Disdads got a shoutout from a non Disdad.

Wow... Either he's really frickin tall, or you're about as tall as a 5 year old.

A word about Cosmic Ray's: It was pretty decent, actually.
I agree. This place always seems to get looked down on, but I think it's a pretty good quick service meal. Maybe nothing jarringly fantastic, but it certainly isn't bad.

Why would Steppe's Clan ever qualify for a quick wait for a bus? It just doesn't happen. Ever.
Only if you're traveling with @pkondz

That's no moon... it's a space station.

(Ramen again, Kids?)
I thought we were done with Ramen after you finished school!:sad:

Ok, seriously, @afwdwfan , it is GOOOOD to have you back! I haven't laughed out loud at responses like this in a spell. Thanks for bringing on the funny tonight! Retorts coming soon....

Okay I am now officially caught up!

I love everything about Mickey's Not So Scary. Around Halloween this year I used to listen to the soundtrack for the parade on Youtube to get myself in the proper spirits. And now, of course it is stuck in my head and will probably be for days. Oh well.

I do agree that HM is just a must do during the party to because it is so different and beautiful. Then again, I always think it's a must do, but it really is something special during the party.

I really wanted to get to Pirates last time too since I hear the CMs that way dress up, but I guess it still isn't as impressive as HM?

And your dark ride shots are miles above mine, so good for you.

:laughing: Glad to hear your methods are so much better.... not!

Who needs TR notes anyway. Don't we all make this stuff up as we go along anyway?

That applies at all times, doesn't it?

HEY! I love Burrito Supremes. Crunchwrap Supremes are pretty noshable as well.

Not bad!!! You too have impressive self control!

Well, in Halloween candy anyway.

So you're saying you're unsubscribing?

TR writer gets stuck in the rain after waiting in line for 2.5 hours. Naw, if that ain't entertainment, nothin' is.

It will if you give it enough time. Or a woodpecker. Or beaver.

Guess who pretended to be a woodpecker today?

Not I. I fail at FB.

FB has its place. If you wanna see quick little snippets of just everyday life, that's your place.

Wait... Win! For us.

Fine. Taking my moon shots and going home.

<Grabs Donna's hand. Runs off.>

You two have fun now storming the castle. ;)

Liesa Griswold! I hope you had the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap danced with Danny *$#@&^% Kaye!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Be honest. Who would have ever thought you'd get this excited about a restroom?[/QUOTE

Hey, after 5 kids, I get excited about EVERY restroom I come across. :lmao:

That definitely sounds interesting. Nice when you can meet and chat with someone like that. And bonus points for learning something useful!

For sure! One of the better flights I've had for sure.

Sounds like it should be a lot of fun!

I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Or maybe you just realized you needed to get away from home for a few hours and work was your respite.

Well, sure. There is that! Different kind of stress.

Well, I can tell who it is... :rolleyes1

Your admiration of my fine work is dizzying.

That really is a cool picture!

Thanks! Man, if looks could kill!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

And then just think of how many corn dog nuggets they'd sell! My Disney stock will go through the roof!

:lmao:

DD works at DQ. You should hear her talk about the losers who drive (DRIVE!!!) thru at 9:59 for fries and blizzards. They call them the Midnight Munchers.

I even enjoyed the beautiful light pole.

:sad2:

I know where this is headed...

And I kind of feel honored that the Disdads got a shoutout from a non Disdad.

IaSW for the Halloween win!

I lurk, cuz y'all are pretty dang funny. But... I only lurk.

Wow... Either he's really frickin tall, or you're about as tall as a 5 year old.

Both. He is pretty fricken tall, and well... I'd say more like a... 6? year old?

I agree. This place always seems to get looked down on, but I think it's a pretty good quick service meal. Maybe nothing jarringly fantastic, but it certainly isn't bad.

It's a solid choice. I suppose if it comes down to which side of the park I'm on, I'd pop in and not cross the park for Pecos.

Only if you're traveling with @pkondz

He can have his transportation pkg. I'd rather keep my clothes dry. And... not red.

I thought we were done with Ramen after you finished school!:sad:

Hey, we graduated to tuna casserole tonight. They have no idea how lucky they are to get.... food.

Okay I am now officially caught up!

AWesome! Glad to have you back!

I love everything about Mickey's Not So Scary. Around Halloween this year I used to listen to the soundtrack for the parade on Youtube to get myself in the proper spirits. And now, of course it is stuck in my head and will probably be for days. Oh well.

Great! My work here is done!

I do agree that HM is just a must do during the party to because it is so different and beautiful. Then again, I always think it's a must do, but it really is something special during the party.

I LOOOOOVE the effects they put out- the fog, the lighting, Mme. Carlotta, everything.

I really wanted to get to Pirates last time too since I hear the CMs that way dress up, but I guess it still isn't as impressive as HM?

No, definitely not as cool as the HM, but yeah, a little more spooky cuz it's pretty empty in there. I think we had the boat to ourselves during the party. And yes, I do believe they were custumed up a bit more over there.

And your dark ride shots are miles above mine, so good for you.

Awww, thanks, Amber. I had fun playing around this trip with the Canon.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well done!

:scared:

DON'T ENCOURAGE HIM, MARK!!!!!
