Just booked an ann. trip for May 21-25. DH and I are excited to be back at the poly after our ann trip last year. Might have to make this a tradition!
Looking forward to checking out this thread again.

Hope you have a great anniversary trip :goodvibes.

Hi, We have a reservation at the poly (renting DVC points) July 4-9th, yay! I've been wanting to stay here since I was a kid.

Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

I'll have my first stay at the Poly in October. I'm taking my mom for her first ever visit, and told her to look at the resorts online and pick which she liked the most. She picked the Polynesian :-) I told her she has good taste.

I am familiar with the resort, and I have followed along with the thread casually, but decided to go ahead and post now that I'm official!
I booked standard for now, with plans to request 3rd floor Fiji, but I'm crossing my fingers for a pin code or a good AP discount in the coming months. Depending on that, I may switch us to a club level room.

Looking forward to planning this trip and experiencing the Poly while actually staying there vs. just visiting to eat or look at holiday decorations!

Congrats on booking your first Poly stay! The Poly is an amazing resort, you and your mom will love it. Enjoy the planning :).

We were very pleased with the Poly club lounge. It was a great area with a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom. The selections were as good as any regular Marriott with the added bonus of beer and wine. The staff did a great job of keeping the food and beverage area neat and stocked, no small job over a holiday week/weekend. We were in the lounge every morning and stopped in every evening before and after dinner so we got a comprehensive overview.

We've stayed at the Poly before, but we're trying CL for the first time in September. I'm excited because we love the Poly and I've been reading positive things about CL lately. Thanks for your input :flower3:.

This isn't practical or possible at your hour, but for the monorail you'd walk from Poly to TTC and take the Epcot line, walk through the park and exit through the Int'l Gateway in World Showcase, then walk over to Swan. This would require the monorail to be running and Epcot to be open - two things that don't fit your timing. If you needed to get to the Swan during open park hours, this would be possible, although involves a decent amount of time and walking.

Busses run that early but there's no good option from Poly really. Disney doesn't offer resort-to-resort busses, only resort-to-parks/DS. I guess you could catch a bus from Poly to HS then take the walking path to Swan. I haven't done this but it should be possible.

That's why cab/uber is pretty much your best and potentially only option. I've always found taxis readily available out front, we use them to get to PPO ADRs all the time. So much easier in the mornings when you're already scrambling to get out the door/be on time. Last thing you need is Disney transport causing you stress at that hour!
Thank you. What time do the taxis start running or are they always available and how long should we allow to get to the Swan by 7:30?

I'm guessing here but maybe a 15-20 min drive, if that?

My experience with Poly is that it's like most major hotels in that there's always a stable of taxis waiting in the lot at nearly all times of the time. You walk out, the bellman whistles one over, and you're off. I've taken several in the 7:15-7:45ish range and that has been my experience. Between Poly and GF, that's a lot of guests in a small area so it's a magnet for cabs and uber.

I'm sure there are times super late or super early that one might not be available but that doesn't seem to be the case often. Maybe others can chime in.

Staying at the Poly next month! It will be our first time there!!! I haven't made any requests for a specific longhouse. I just kind of figured I would be happy and see the good in whichever room we got. This is, however, a big trip for us, so is my thinking flawed? Should I be asking (and hoping for) a certain longhouse?

Much thanks!

This will be my 1st stay at the Poly. Staying at a monorail resort is my 1985 dream come true! Starting to figure out my fast pass choices and I have a couple of transportation/logistics questions.

If staying in Tokelau, to get on the monorail is it quicker to walk to the TTC and get on or get on at the GCH?

For Epcot, from stepping out our hotel door what is a good estimate of time it takes to make it get there, go through security/tapstiles and actually be in Epcot?

Many thanks!

First, what type of room / view do you have reserved? That drives lots of suggestions, the second item is are you looking for a 1st floor patio rooms or a balcony?

Just booked for spring break, after previously deciding not to due to cost. But we got a pin in the mail. Wanted poly standard resort room, but it was only half the discount of a standard villa room so booked that instead. Dh agreed after I promised a non-disney trip of his choosing for 2018. I will call back to add the request for garden or pool view, may increase odds of no parking lot. But that would be fine, really. Cant wait to keep reading this thread.

The Poly is amazing, you're going to love it! As far as location, we love Samoa as it's just steps from both pools, the GCH, Captain Cooks, and the beach. With that said, I think the Poly is great no matter which long house you're in, so unless there's a particular area you want, I'd maybe leave it up to chance as there's really no bad rooms/views (IMO). Have a great trip :goodvibes.

I am bursting at the seams. MagicBands (2.0) just arrived for our Jan 29th check in. 5th trip to the world and first stay at Poly.

I've been following this thread diligently. It's been so helpful. Thank you all.

How exciting! Hope you have a great trip :yay:.

Congrats on the pin! Hope you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly :).

Any recent Poly club level guests have any feedback on the current club level menu? I know a PP had mentioned some recent changes. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks

WE ARE HEADING BACK TO THE POLY! WOOOHOOO!
Friends are headed to the World in September, so we are tagging along. YAY FOR F&W! YAY FOR MNSSHP! We have never been during the fall and are looking forward to it.

We haven't stayed at the Poly since our last trip in '10, and I know that a lot has changed. Can't wait to start combing through this thread!

Hi. I have a question: I will be staying at the Poly for 4 nights. The rest of my party will not. If I want to go swimming with my grand-nephew there will he be able since I am staying there. Thanks for the info.

31 days to go! Bonus trip due to those pesky APs that burn a hole in your wallet. I think we are going to roll the dice on longhouse and go with the flow. My only request is a ground floor room, since my DF loves to sit on the patio.

Those APs will get you every time....LOL. You'll be checking into the Poly before you know it! Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

How exciting! Fall is a great time to go and the Halloween party is a lot of fun :goodvibes.

14 days until our first stay at Poly!

Have a great trip! :yay:

The pools are for resort guests only, but you might be able to get permission for him to join you for a day. You would need to ask a CM at the pool on that day as I think it's up to their discretion whether or not they will allow a resort guest to have a visitor at the pool :).
