Somebody predicted Disney would do $3 billion domestic, I think R1 pushed it over that. Just a random number if I remember, not sure what the domestic record was.

They had the best year you could expect...with a couple of flopped tentpoles.
Now the problem is they're gonna say "how do we make more?!?"
You don't...their schedule is already cluttered with too many releases. They are cannivalizibg their own movies and cheapening the brands
What do you mean cannibalizing movies or cheapening brands? Look at their 2017 release plan... all original movies!
2017:
Frozen 2
Cars 3
Beauty & Beast live-action remake
Star Wars VIII
Thor 3
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Spider-Man reboot
Oh... I think I might see your point..
A Pixar, a Star Wars, 2 disney animation, a live action princess, 4 marvels abe 4 live action adaptations every year...
On second thought...nahhh...nevermind
Good ... good... let the kool-aid flow through you.
Although 2017 is probably a $3.5 Billion/$8 Billion global year. So, you know. Dollars. 2018... rinse and repeat.
2016 - $7 Billion globally, $3 Billion domestically. Both records.
Previous high:
2015 - $5.84 Billion globally, $2.28 Billion domestically.
So they crushed it...

I'm actually getting pretty annoyed that all the 2016 lists and articles are putting finding Dory as the top grossing movie domestically.
All of rogue one's box office for 2017 counts as 2016 since that's when it was released. There's no way rogue one doesn't pass finding Dory so I'm just annoyed about the whole thing.
Isn't POTC 5 due this year as well?

On a different note..rogue one not doing anything great in China...it just don't sell over there...
