Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

I thought when doing online check in you were able to say some sort of preference you had in you room ie first floor, corner etc. or is on line check in just for credit cards

There are a few request options you can tick during online checkin, but its very limited (nothing like building location, etc).

That is what I thought but there was nothing about the room...just wanted PINs from us. I do plan to do the fax next week so I guess I don't need to worry about it

Newbie here. I've read this entire thread....am I a nerd, or what??? I have a quick question as I'm preparing my Garden Grocer order. Is the fridge in the room large enough to hold 2 half gallons of milk? Or would it hold a full gallon jug? I want to make sure I order the right thing so none of this expensive milk spoils! We're big milk drinkers (4 of us) and plan on eating cereal for many breakfasts, so I'm thinking we'll need a gallon for the week.

I know a gallon will not fit but I think you could do 2 half gallons. If they don't fit I am wondering if they would hold one at bell service.

Thanks! Good idea about asking at bell service, if I need to. We won't have much in there except for the milk and a few Diet Cokes for my husband.

Gallon cartons fit fine (sometimes you need to adjust the shelves a bit to make space).

At the beginning of this thread...when talking about faxing it is says...
  • First, ALWAYS make sure that any requests are noted in your original reservation as this is the official method to log room requests for WDW hotels. This can be done by calling your travel agent or the Disney Reservation Center on (407) 934-7639.
I don't remember making any sort of request. Should I call them before I fax? We arrive Jan 14.

We just added 2 days to our trip coming up in a couple of weeks and are staying at POR for the first time those nights! I would love to see YeHaa Bob. Would it be ok to take kids (ages 2 and 5)? What time should we get there for an 8:30 show to get a table? We will most likely try to go to the show Fri Jan 20th. Thanks!

Anyone know what time the first bus of day would come for animal kingdom? I called the desk and they said 8:15. However another member of my party called asking about Epcot bus this morning and they also said 8:15. We got on a bus for Epcot at 7:25 this am, so know that was not accurate info.

Thought I would try hear as may be more accurate than what front desk is saying.

Yehaa Bob is great for kids... singing, piano, dancing around the bar. Check his schedule to be sure he is playing those nights.

If you want seats, which with kids that age I'm sure you do, I would recommend getting there like 7:30.
It's kinda hard to say though because sometimes it doesn't fill up right away and other times it does.

Buses for all the parks start running at 6:30. And when you call the front desk, you're not actually talking to someone at the front desk, you're talking to someone at a call center, and that call center might not even be in Florida.

Thanks! Love your profile picture!

Buses officially start at 7am now, but sometimes you'll find the first one comes earlier than that. And you're right about the 'front desk' phone lines, all the off-site call-center operators answering the phone can do is check their computer screens or transfer you. I get really annoyed when people are told outright lies though, if the operator doesn't know they should check their facts first. That said, even if you ask at the actual front desk you are not guaranteed a correct answer.

We've fished with the pole canes on our last trip at the end of 2015. I took the time to read the beginning of this thread and it says it is still offered but I just want to make sure since the thread is so extensive that it is still offered.

Thanks SO much, Andre! This helps a lot, because a gallon of milk won't be enough for us. Now that I've seen your photo, I can plan better. Thanks again!!!
